1Tribology of Ti6Al4V: A review显示文摘The deleterious innate attribute of Ti6 Al4 V, the workhorse material among the alloy series of titanium is its incompetent tribo-behavior. Infinite surface modification techniques, viz., the accretion of adherent appendage layers, diffusion hardening, infusion of residual stresses, microstructural evolution, and phase transformations were attempted to enhance the wear resistance of the alloy. The need lies to establish a bridge between the indigenous material properties and the tribo-characteristics of Ti6 Al4 V so that the enforced improvement techniques can raise the barriers of its applicability. A critical review of the microstructural transitions, mechanisms governing tribo-behavior and the parametric conditions leading to material removal at dry sliding conditions of Ti6 Al4 V, falls under the scope of this manuscript. 2Comparative study of degradation of toluene and methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK)in aqueous solution by pulsed corona discharge plasma显示文摘Effectiveness of pulsed power plasma for the degradation of two toxic volatile organic compounds(VOCs),toluene and methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK),in aqueous solution was evaluated.The plasma degradation of MIBK has been studied for the first time.The influence of initial concentration of target compound,solution pH and scavengers on percentage degradation was evaluated.100%removal of 200 mg/L of toluene and MIBK was achieved both in liquid and gaseous phases after 12 and 16 min of plasma treatment,respectively.The first order rate constant of toluene and MIBK degradation(for 200 mg/L each)was 0.421 and 0.319 min~(-1)respectively when they were treated individually,and these values decreased slightly during degradation of their mixture.MIBK degradation was slower than toluene and it might be due to semi volatile and hydrophilic nature of MIBK.The effect of initial concentration of toluene and MIBK showed different degradation patterns.Highest degradation of both the compounds was obtained in neutral pH and in absence of scavengers.·OH radical was the major reactive species involved in their degradation.Their degradation in real environmental matrices showed that removal reduced significantly in secondary effluent due to scavenging of reactive species by various ions and organic matter.The total number of degradation intermediates identified in case of toluene and MIBK was 11 and 14 respectively and formate was the one recalcitrant byproduct generated.The degradation pathway of toluene and MIBK involving reactions of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species and reductive species is proposed.Jerin Jose Ligy Philip 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3:4

7Three‐terminal perovskite/integratedbackcontactsilicon tandem solar cells under low light intensity conditions显示文摘The current climate and energy crisis urgently needs solar cells with efficiencies above the 29% single junction efficiency bottleneck.Silicon/perovskite tandem solar cells are a solution,which is attracting much attention.While silicon/perovskite tandem cells in 2-terminal and 4-terminal configurations are well documented,the three-terminal concept is still in its infancy.It has significant advantages under low light intensities as opposed to concentrated sunlight,which is the critical factor in designing tandem solar cells for low-cost terrestrial applications.This study pre-sents novel studies of the sub-cell performance of the first three-terminal perovskite/silicon selective band offset barrier tandem solar cells fabricated in an ongoing research project.This study focuses on short circuit current and operating voltages of the subcells under light intensities of one sun and below.Lifetime studies show that the perovskite bulk carrier lifetime is insensitive to illumination,while the silicon cell's lifetime decreases with decreasing light intensity.The combination of perovskite and silicon in the 3T perovskite-silicon tandem therefore reduces the sensitivity of V_(OC) to light intensity and maintains a relatively higher V_(OC) down to low light intensities,whereas silicon single-junction cells show a marked decrease.This technological advantage is proposed as a novel advantage of three-terminal perovkite/silicon solar cells for low light intensities of one sun or less.Hiroyuki Kanda Valentin Dan Mihailetchi Marie-Estelle Gueunier-Farret Jean-Paul Kleider Zakaria Djebbour Jose Alvarez Baranek Philippe Olindo Isabella Malte R.Vogt Rudi Santbergen Philip Schulz Fiala Peter Mohammad K.Nazeeruddin James P.Connolly 2022Interdisciplinary Materials2022,1,1:2
