| 2 | Influence of pore structures on the mechanical behavior of low-permeability sandstones:numerical reconstruction and analysis显示文摘The research of rock properties based on its inherent microscopic to mesoscopic porous structure has drawn great attention for its potential in predicting the macroscopic behavior of rocks.An accurate reconstruction of the threedimensional porous structure is a premise for the related studies of hydraulic and mechanical properties of rocks,such as the transport properties and mechanical responses under pressures.In this paper,we present a computer procedure for reconstructing the 3D porous structure of low-permeability sandstone.Two large-size 3D models are reconstructed based on the information of a reference model which is established from computed tomography(CT)images.A self-developed finite element method is applied to analyze the nonlinear mechanical behavior of the sandstone based on its reconstructed model and to compare the results with those based on the reference model.The good consistency of the obtained mechanical responses indicates the potential of using reconstruction models to predict the influences of porous structure on the mechanical properties of low-permeability sandstone. | Jiangtao Zheng Yang Ju Xi Zhao | 2014 | International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,3: | 34 |
| 3 | Effect of L-NAME on nitric oxide and gastrointestinal motility alterations in cirrhotic rats显示文摘AIM: To invsstigare the effect of L-NAME on nitric oxide andgastriubtestubal motility alterations in cirrhotic ratsMETHODS: Rats with cirrhosis induced by carbontetrachloride were randomly divided into two groups, one( n= 13) receiving 0. 5 mg@ kg-1 per clay of NG-nitro-L-argininemethyl ester (L-NAME), a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor,for 10 days, whereas the other group ( n = 13) and control( n = 10) rats were administrated the same volume of 9 g@ L-1saline.Half gastric emptying time and 2 h residual rate weremeasured by SPECT, using 99m Tc-DTPA-labeled bariumsuifate as test meal. Gastrointestinal transition time wasrecorded simultaneously. Serum concentration of nitrcoxide (NO) was determined by the kinetic cadmiunreduction and colorimetric methods. ImmunohistochemicalSABC method was used to observe the expression anddistribution of three types of nitric oxide synthase (NOS)isoforms in the mt gastrointestinal tract. Western blot wasused to detect expression of gastrointestinal NOS isoforms.RESULTS: Half gastric emptying time and trans-gastrointestinal time were significantly prolonged( 124.0 ± 26.4min; 33.7± 8.9min;72.1 ± 15.3 min; P<0.01), (12.4±0.5h; 9.5±0.3 h; 8.2±0.8 h; P<0.01), 2h residual rate wasraised in cirrhotic rots than in controls and cirrhotic ratstreated with L-NAME(54.9± 7.6 % ,13.7 ± 3.2 %, 34.9± 10.3%, P< 0.01). Serum concentration of NO was significantlyincreased in cirrhotic rots than in the other groups (8.20 ± 2.48)μmol@L-1, (5.94± 1.07) μmol@L-1 ,and control (5.66± 1.60) tμmol@L-1, P< 0.01. NOS staining intensities which weremainly located in the gastrointestinal tissues were markedlylower in cirrhotic rats than in the controls and cirrhotic ratsafter treated with L- NAME.CONCLUSION: Gastrointestinal motility was remarkablyinhibited in cirrhotic rats, which could he alleviated by L-NAME. | 4 | Evidences for vagus nerve in-maintenance of immune balance and transmission of immune information from gut to brain in STM-infected rats显示文摘AIM:To determine whether salmonella Typhimurium(STM) in gastrointestinal tract can induce the functional activation of brain,whether the vagus nerve involves in signaling immune infomation from gastrointestinal tract to brain and how it influences the immune function under natural infection condition.METHODS:Animal model of gastrointestinal tract infection in the rat was established by an intuation of Salmonella Typhimurium(STM) into stomach to minic the condition of natural bacteria infection,Subdiagphragmatic vagotomy was performed in some of the animals 28 days before infection The changes of Fos expression visualized with immunohistochemistry technique in hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus(pVN) and superaoptic nuclesu (SON)were conted.Meanwhilie,the percentage and the Mean Intensities of Flurescent (MIFs)of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood were measured by using flow cytometry(FCM),and the pathological changes in ileum and mesenteric lymph node were observed in HE stained sections.RESULTS:In bacteria-stimulated groups,inflammatory pathological changes were seen in ileum and mesenteric lymph node,The percentages of CD4+ T cells in peripheral blood were decreased from 43%±4.5%to 34%±4.9%(P<0.5)and MIFs of CD8+ T cells were also decreased from 2.9±0.39to 2.1±0.36(P<0.05)with STM stimulation.All of them proved that our STM-infection model was reliable Fos immunoreactive(Fos-ir) cells in PVN and SON incerased significantly with STM stimulation,from 189±41 to467±62(P<0.05)and from 64±21 to 282±47(P<0.05)individually,which suggested that STM in gastointestinal tract induced the functional activation of brain Subdiagphragmatic vagotomy attenuated FOs expression in PVN and SON induced by STM,from 467±62to 226±45(P<0.05)and from 282±47to 71±19(P<0.05)individually,and restored the decreased percentages of CD4+ T cells induced by STM from 34%±4.9% to original level 44%±6.0%(P<0.05).In addition,subdiagphragmatic vagotomy itself also decreased the percentages of CD8+ T cells (from 28%±3.0%to 21%±5.9%),P<0.05 and MIFs of CD4+(from 6.6±0.6to4.9±1.0P<0.05)and CD8+ T cells (from 2.9±0.39to 1.4±0.34,P<0.05).Both of them manifested the important role of vagus nerve in transmitting immune information from gut to brain and maintaining the immune balance of the organism.CONCLUSION:Vagus nerve dose involve in transmitting adbominal immune informaton into the brain in STM infection condition and play an important role in maintenance of the immune balance of the oranism. | Xi Wang Bai-Ren Wang Zhen Xu Yu-Qiang Ding Gong Ju,Institute of Neuroscience,Fourth Military Medical University,Xi’an 710032,Shaanxi Province,China Xi-Jing Zhang,Department of Anesthesiology,Xi Jing Hospital,Fourth Military Medical University,Xi’an 710032,Shaanxi Province,China | 2002 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2002,8,3: | 10 |
| 5 | Toxicity of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes,Graphene Oxide,and Reduced Graphene Oxide to Zebrafish Embryos显示文摘Objective This study was aimed to investigate the toxic effects of 3 nanomaterials, i.e. multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs), graphene oxide(GO), and reduced graphene oxide(RGO), on zebrafish embryos. Methods The 2-h post-fertilization(hpf) zebrafish embryos were exposed to MWCNTs, GO, and RGO at different concentrations(1, 5, 10, 50, 100 mg/L) for 96 h. Afterwards, the effects of the 3 nanomateria on spontaneous movement, heart rate, hatching rate, length of larvae, mortality, and malformations ls were evaluated. Results Statistical analysis indicated that RGO significantly inhibited the hatching of zebrafish embryos. Furthermore, RGO and MWCNTs decreased the length of the hatched larvae at 96 hpf. No obvious morphological malformation or mortality was observed in the zebrafish embryos after exposure to the three nanomaterials. Conclusion MWCNTs, GO, and RGO were all toxic to zebrafish embryos to influence embryos hatching and larvae length. | 7 | Mucosal-associated invariant T cells in hepatitis B virus-related liver failure显示文摘BACKGROUND Liver failure has high mortality and poor prognosis,and establishing new reliable markers for predicting its prognosis is necessary.Mucosal-associated invariant T(MAIT)cells are a novel population of innate-like lymphocytes involved in inflammatory liver disease,and their potential role in liver failure remains unclear.AIM To investigate alteration of circulating MAIT cells and assess its prognostic value in patients with hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related liver failure.METHODS We recruited 55 patients with HBV-related liver failure,48 patients with chronic hepatitis B and 40 healthy controls(HCs)from Nantong Third People’s Hospital Affiliated to Nantong University.Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated,and the percentage and number of circulating MAIT cells were detected by flow cytometry.Plasma levels of interleukin(IL)-7,IL-12p70,IL-18 and interferon-αwere measured by Luminex assay.RESULTS Circulating MAIT cells were significantly decreased in HBV-related liver failure patients(percentage:2.00±1.22 vs 5.19±1.27%,P<0.0001;number:5.47±4.93 vs 84.43±19.59,P<0.0001)compared with HCs.More importantly,there was a significant reduction of MAIT cells in patients with middle/late-stage compared with early-stage liver failure.Circulating MAIT cells partially recovered after disease improvement,both in percentage(4.01±1.21 vs 2.04±0.95%,P<0.0001)and in cell count(17.24±8.56 vs 7.41±4.99,P<0.0001).The proportion(2.29±1.01 vs 1.58±1.38%,P<0.05)and number(7.30±5.70 vs 2.94±1.47,P<0.001)of circulating MAIT cells were significantly higher in the survival group than in the dead/liver transplantation group,and the Kaplan–Meier curve showed that lower expression of circulating MAIT cells(both percentage and cell count)predicted poor overall survival(P<0.01).Also,the levels of IL-12(20.26±5.42 pg/mL vs 17.76±2.79 pg/mL,P=0.01)and IL-18(1470.05±1525.38 pg/mL vs 362.99±109.64 pg/mL,P<0.0001)were dramatically increased in HBV-related liver failure patients compared with HCs.CONCLUSION Circulating MAIT cells may play an important role in the process of HBV-related liver failure and can be an important prognostic marker. | Hong Xue Han Li Lin-Ling Ju Xu-Dong Han Tiao-Chun Cheng Xi Luo Lin Chen Jian-Guo Shao Yong-Jun She Zhao-Lian Bian | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,31: | 4 |
| 8 | A New Method for Blood NT-proBNP Determination Based on a Near-infrared Point of Care Testing Device with High Sensitivity and Wide Scope显示文摘Objective To develop a rapid, highly sensitive, and quantitative method for the detection of NT-proBNP levels based on a near-infrared point-of-care diagnostic(POCT) device with wide scope. Methods The lateral flow assay(LFA) strip of NT-proBNP was first prepared to achieve rapid detection. Then, the antibody pairs for NT-proBNP were screened and labeled with the near-infrared fluorescent dye Dylight-800. The capture antibody was fixed on a nitrocellulose membrane by a scribing device. Serial dilutions of serum samples were prepared using NT-proBNP-free serum series. The prepared test strips, combined with a near-infrared POCT device, were validated by known concentrations of clinical samples. The POCT device gave the output of the ratio of the intensity of the fluorescence signal of the detection line to that of the quality control line. The relationship between the ratio value and the concentration of the specimen was plotted as a work curve. The results of 62 clinical specimens obtained from our method were compared in parallel with those obtained from the Roche E411 kit. Results Based on the log-log plot, the new method demonstrated that there was a good linear relationship between the ratio value and NT-proBNP concentrations ranging from 20 pg/mL to 10 ng/mL. The results of the 62 clinical specimens measured by our method showed a good linear correlation with those measured by the Roche E411 kit. | 11 | Resilient outage recovery of a distribution system: co-optimizing mobile power sources with network structure显示文摘Outage recovery is important for reducing the economic cost and improving the reliability of a distribution system(DS)in extreme weather and with equipment faults.Previous studies have separately considered network reconfigu-ration(NR)and dispatching mobile power sources(MPS)to restore the outage load.However,NR cannot deal with the scenario of an electrical island,while dispatching MPS results in a long power outage.In this paper,a resilient outage recovery method based on co-optimizing MPS and NR is proposed,where the DS and traffic network(TN)are considered simultaneously.In the DS,the switch action cost and power losses are minimized,and the access points of MPSs are changed by carrying out the NR process.In the TN,an MPS dispatching model with the objective of mini-mizing power outage time,routing and power generation cost is developed to optimize the MPSs’schedule.A solu-tion algorithm based on iteration and relaxation methods is proposed to simplify the solving process and obtain the optimal recovery strategy.Finally,numerical case studies on the IEEE 33 and 119-bus systems validate the proposed resilient outage recovery method.It is shown that the access point of MPS can be changed by NR to decrease the power outage time and dispatching cost of MPS.The results also show that the system operation cost can be reduced by considering power losses in the objective function. | Chenchen Li Yanna Xi Yufan Lu Nian Liu Liudong Chen Li Ju Yibin Tao | 2022 | Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2022,7,1: | 2 |

| 14 | Impact of hydraulic perforation on fracture initiation and propagation in shale rocks显示文摘To enhance the oil and gas recovery rate, hydraulic fracturing techniques have been widely adopted for stimulation of low-permeability reservoirs. Pioneering work indicates that hydraulic perforation and layout could significantly affect fracture initiation and propagation in low-permeability reservoir rocks subjected to complex in-situ stresses. This paper reports on a novel numerical method that incorporates fracture mechanics principles and the numerical tools FRANC3 D and ANSYS to investigate the three-dimensional initiation and propagation behavior of hydro-fracturing cracks in shale rock. Considering the transverse isotropic property of shale rocks, the mechanical parameters of reservoir rocks attained from laboratory tests were adopted in the simulation. The influence of perforation layouts on the 3D initiation of hydro-fracturing fractures in reservoir rocks under geo-stresses was quantitatively illuminated. The propagation and growth of fractures in three dimensions in different perforating azimuth values were illustrated. The results indicate that: 1) the optimal perforation direction should be parallel to the maximum horizontal principal stress, 2) the crack plane gradually turns toward the direction of the maximum horizontal principal stress when they are not in parallel, 3) compared with the linear and symmetric pattern, the staggered perforation is the optimal one, 4) the proper perforation density is four to six holes per meter, 5) the optimal perforation diameter in this model is 30 mm, and 6) the influence of the perforation depth on the fracture initiation pressure is low. | ZHAO Xi JU Yang YANG Yong SU Sun GONG WenBo | 2016 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,5: | 2 |

| 20 | An investigation on HOBEM in evaluating ship wave of high speed displacement ship显示文摘A practical numerical tool is developed to evaluate ship waves of high speed displacement ships on the basis of potential flow theory, in which high order boundary element method (HOBEM) based on biquadratic shape functions is applied to solve the boundary value problem. Since the sinkage and trim of ship at high speeds are notable, influences of ship attitude on wave drag are investigated and three kinds of models are used to evaluate them. To make the numerical approach highly efficient, an incomplete LU factorization preconditioner is adopted and incorporated with the restarted generalized minimal residual method GMRES (m) to solve the boundary integral equation. A corresponding Fortran code is developed and applied to evaluate ship waves of the Wigley hull and 4a model, a transom stem ship. Computations are performed for both monohulls and catamarans over a wide range of Froude numbers (Fr= 0.10-l.00). Numerical issues including mesh convergence and computational efficiency are investigated at first. Computed results of the wave drag, sinkage and trim show generally good agreement with experimental data. Reasonable wave patterns are obtained and physical phenomena that wake angle max, where the largest waves occur, would become narrow at high speeds is also captured by the present computations.
