3Histopathological study of chronic wounds modulated by intermittent negative pressure therapy under limited access dressing显示文摘Aim:Negative pressure wound therapy(NPWT)has achieved widespread success in the treatment of chronic wounds.However,its effects have been only partially explored,and investigations have generally concentrated on the wound-dressing interface;a detailed histopathological description of the evolution of wounds under NPWT is still lacking.The present study was performed to investigate the effect of a limited access dressing(LAD)which exerts intermittent NPWT in a moist environment on chronic wounds.Methods:A total of 140 patients were randomized into 2 groups:LAD group(n=64)and conventional dressing group(n=76).By histopathological analysis of the granulation tissue,the amount of inflammatory infiltrate,necrotic tissue,angiogenesis,and extracellular matrix(ECM)deposition was studied and compared to determine healing between the 2 groups.Results:After 10 days of treatment,histopathological analysis showed a significant decrease in necrotic tissue with LAD compared to the conventional dressing group(mean±standard error,11.5±0.48 vs.10.1±0.30,P=0.007),the number of inflammatory cells(12.6±0.60 vs.8.63±0.35,P=0.018),a significant increase in new blood vessels(12.8±0.58 vs.9.3±0.29,P=0.005)and ECM deposit(13.3±0.50 vs.9.6±0.24,P=0.001).Conclusion:LAD exerts its beneficial effects on chronic wound healing by decreasing the amount of necrotic tissue and inflammatory cells while increasing the amount of ECM deposition and angiogenesis.Thittamaranahalli Muguregowda Honnegowda Pramod Kumar Rekha Singh Swarna Shivakumar Pragna Rao Hemanth K.Prasad Sudesh Kumar Udaya Kumar Echalasara Govindarama Padmanabha Udupa 2015Plastic and Aesthetic Research2015,2,1:0

6On the high temperature phase transition in Ba(Zr_(0.20)Ti_(0.80))O_(3) ceramic显示文摘Temperature dependent X-ray diffraction(XRD)and dielectric properties of perovskite Ba(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.8))O_(3) ceramic prepared using a standard solid-state reaction process is presented.Along with phase transitions at low temperature,a new phase transition at high temperature(873℃ at 20 Hz),diffusive in character has been found where the lattice structure changes from monoclinic(space group:P2=m) to hexagonal(space group:P6=mmm).This result places present ceramic in the list of potential candidate for intended high temperature applications.The AC conductivity data followed hopping type charge conduction and supports jump relaxation model.The experimental value of d_(33)=98 pC/N was found.The dependence of polarization and strain on electric field at room temperature suggested that lead-free Ba(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.8))O_(3) is a promising material for electrostrictive applications.K.P.Chandra A.R.Kulkarni K.Prasad 2017Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2017,7,4:0

9Electrical and magnetic properties of 0-3 Ba(Fe_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))O_(3)/PVDF composites显示文摘Lead-free Ba(Fe_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))O_(3)/PVDF O_(3) composites were fabricated using melt.mixing technique.X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,dielectric,impedance,ac conductivity,magnetic force microscopy(MFM)and vibrating sample magne-tometer studies were undertaken to characterize the samples.Average crstallite size of the Ba(Fe_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))O_(3) powder,estimated using Williamson-Hall approach,was found to be~42 nm.The fller particles of~0.5-1 pum were found to disperse in the polymer matrix of all the composites.Filler concentration dependent values of real and imaginary parts of complex permittivity showed increasing trend and were seen to follow Bruggeman and Furukawa equations.The data for ac conductivity exhibited negative temperature coeficient of resistance character of the test materials and were found to obey Jonscher's power law.The correlated barier hopping model was found to explain satisfactorily the mechanism of charge transport occurring in the system.MFM confirmed the presence of magnetic phases in the composites.Typical magnetization versus applied field curves indicated the possibility of magnetoelectric coupling in the system.Hence,the present composites have shown themselves as potential multi-functional candidate materials for use in high density data storage applications.Hars Ranjan Uttam K.Mahto K.P.Chandra A.R.Kulkarni A.Prasad K.Prasad 2017Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2017,7,6:0
10Lattice Boltzmann Simulation of a Gas-to-Solid Reaction and Precipitation Process in a Circular Tube显示文摘The lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)is used to simulate the growth of a solid-deposit on the walls of a circular tube resulting from a gas-to-solid reaction and precipitation process.This process is of particular interest for the design of reactors for the production of hydrogen by the heterogeneous hydrolysis of steam with Zn vapor in the Zn/ZnO thermochemical cycle.The solid deposit of ZnO product on the tube wall evolves in time according to the temporally-and axially-varying convective-diffusive transport and reaction of Zn vapor with steam on the solid surface.The LBM is wellsuited to solving problems with coupled flow,heat and mass transfer in a time-evolving domain.Here,a D2Q9 axisymmetric multiple-relaxation-time(MRT)lattice Boltzmann scheme is used to simulate incompressible fluid transport while a D2Q5 axisymmetric MRT lattice Boltzmann scheme is used to simulate the convective-diffusive transport of Zn vapor.The model is first validated against several analytical solutions,followed by a parametric study to understand the effect of Reynolds,Schmidt,and Damk?hler numbers on the time evolution of the ZnO deposition profile along the tube axis.The axial location of the fastest deposition is found to increase with increasing Peclet number,and decrease with increasing Damk?hler number,with no independent effect from the Schmidt number.When the reaction kinetics are assumed to increase along the tube axis due to nonisothermal tube wall temperature,a second peak in the deposition profile can be observed for sufficiently low values of Da/Pe.Matthew D.Lindemer Suresh G.Advani Ajay K.Prasad 2018Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2018,,12:0
