| 2 | Forest fire risk assessment in parts of Northeast India using geospatial tools显示文摘Forest fire is a major cause of changes in forest structure and function. Among various floristic regions, the northeast region of India suffers maximum from the fires due to age-old practice of shifting culti- vation and spread of fires from jhum fields. For proper mitigation and management, an early warning of forest fires through risk modeling is required. The study results demonstrate the potential use of remote sens- ing and Geographic Information System (GIS) in identifying forest fire prone areas in Manipur, southeastern part of Northeast India. Land use land cover (LULC), vegetation type, Digital elevation model (DEM), slope, aspect and proximity to roads and settlements, factors that influ- ence the behavior of fire, were used to model the forest fire risk zones. Each class of the layers was given weight according to their fire inducing capability and their sensitivity to fire. Weighted sum modeling and ISODATA clustering was used to classify the fire zones. To validate the results, Along Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR), the historical fire hotspots data was used to check the occurrence points and modeled forest fire locations. | 3 | Carcinogenic Helicobacter pylori in gastric pre-cancer and cancer lesions: Association with tobacco-chewing显示文摘AIM:To investigate the low gastric cancer incidence rate relative to the highly prevalent Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection;data relevant to H.pylori infection during gastric carcinogenesis in Indian patients is currently lacking.METHODS:The present study examines the prevalence of H.pylori infection in DNA derived from 156endoscopic gastric biopsies of different disease groups that represent gastric pre-cancer[intestinal metaplasia(n=15),dysplasia(n=15)],cancer[diffuse adenocarcinoma(n=44),intestinal adenocarcinoma(n=21)],and symptomatic but histopathologically-normal controls(n=61).This was done by generic ureC polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and cagA-specific PCR that could specifically identify the carcinogenic H.pylori strain.RESULTS:Our analysis showed the presence of H.pylori infection in 61%of symptomatic histopathologically-normal individuals,however only 34%of control tissues were harboring the cagA+H.pylori strain.A similar proportion of H.pylori infection(52%)and cagA(26%)positivity was observed in the tumor tissue of the gastric cancer group.In comparison,H.pylori infection(90%)and cagA positivity(73%)were the highest in gastric pre-cancer lesions.In relation to tobacco and alcohol abuse,H.pylori infection showed an association with tobacco chewing,whereas we did not observe any association between tobacco smoking or alcohol abuse with prevalence of H.pylori infection in the tissue of any of the patient groups studied.CONCLUSION:High incidence of H.pylori infection and carcinogenic cagA positive strain in pre-cancer lesions during gastric carcinogenesis may be | Arvind Pandey Satyendra Chandra Tripathi Sutapa Mahata Kanchan Vishnoi Shirish Shukla Sri Prakash Misra Vatsala Misra Suresh Hedau Ravi Mehrotra Manisha DwivediZ Alok C Bharti | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,22: | 4 |

| 5 | Origin and geochemical characterization of the glauconites in the Upper Cretaceous Lameta Formation, Narmada Basin, central India显示文摘This study presents geochemical characteristics of glauconites in estuarine deposits within the Maastrichtian Lameta Formation in central India. Resting conformably over the Bagh Group, the Lameta Formation consists of ~4-5 m thick arenaceous, argillaceous and calcareous green sandstones underlying the Deccan Traps. The sandstone is friable, medium-to coarse-grained, well-sorted and thoroughly crossstratified, and contains marine fossils. Detailed petrography, spectroscopy and mineral chemistry indicates unique chemical composition of glauconite with high K_2O, MgO, Al_2O_3 and moderate TFe_2O_3. Glauconite is formed by the replacement of K-feldspars, initially as stringers in the cleavages and fractures of feldspars. Incipient glauconite subsequently evolves fully, appearing as pellets. Fully-evolved glauconite pellets often leave tiny relics of K-feldspar. XRD exhibits characteristic peak of 10A from basal(001)reflection of glauconite, indicating the 'evolved' character. The K_2O content of glauconites in the Lameta Formation varies from 5.51% to 8.29%, corroborating the 'evolved' to 'highly-evolved' maturation stage.The TFe_2O_3 content of glauconite varies from 12.56% to 18.90%. The PASS-normalized-REE patterns of glauconite exhibit a 'hat-shape' confirming the authigenic origin of glauconites. The slightly-negative to slightly-positive Ce anomaly value and the moderate TFe_2O_3 content of glauconite agree well with a suboxic,estuarine condition. The replacement of K-feldspar by the glauconite contributes towards the high K_2O content. | 7 | A three-pronged analysis confirms the association of the serotoninergic system with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder显示文摘Background The serotonin transporter(SERT),encoded by the solute carrier family 6 number 4(SLC6A4)gene,controls serotonin(5-HT)availability and is essential for the regulation of behavioral traits.Two SLC6A4 genetic variants,5-HTTLPR and STin2,were widely investigated in patients with various neurobehavioral disorders,including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD).Methods We analyzed the association of the 5-HTTLPR(L/S)and STin2(10/12)variants,plasma 5-HT,and 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid(5-HIAA),as well as SERT messenger RNA(mRNA)with ADHD in the eastern Indian subjects.Nuclear families with ADHD probands(n=274)and ethnically matched controls(n=367)were recruited following the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.Behavioral traits,executive function,and intelligence quotient(IQ)of the probands were assessed using the Conner's Parent Rating Scale–Revised,Parental Account of Children’s Symptoms(PACS),Barkley Deficit in Executive Functioning—Child and Adolescent Scale,and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III,respectively.After obtaining informed written consent,peripheral blood was collected to analyze genetic variants,plasma 5-HT,5-HIAA,and SERT mRNA expression.Results ADHD probands showed a higher frequency of the 5-HTTLPR“L”allele and“L/L”genotype(P<0.05),lower 5-HIAA level,and higher SERT mRNA expression.Scores for behavioral problems and hyperactivity were higher in the presence of the“S”allele and“S/S”genotype,while executive deficit was higher in the presence of the“L”allele.IQ score was lower in the presence of the STin2“12”allele and L-12 haplotype.Conclusion Data obtained indicate a significant association of the serotoninergic system with ADHD,warranting further in-depth investigation. | Mahasweta Chatterjee Sharmistha Saha Swagata Sinha Kanchan Mukhopadhyay | 2022 | World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,12: | 2 |
| 8 | Influence of peach(Prunus persica Batsch)phenological stage on the short-term changes in oxidizable and labile pools of soil organic carbon and activities of carbon-cycle enzymes in the North-Western Himalayas显示文摘The labile organic carbon(C)and C-related enzymes are sensitive indicators capturing alterations of soil organic matter(SOM),even in a short-time scale.Although the effects of crop husbandry and land use change on these attributes have been well studied,there is no consensus about how plant phenology may impact them.This study aimed to determine the short-term effect o f six distinct phenological stages(PS-1:full bloom;PS-2:fruit set;PS-3:pit hardening;PS-4:physiological maturity;PS-5:60 d after physiological maturity;and PS-6:fall)o f peach on the changes in soil organic carbon(SOC)fractions of different oxidizability,labile C pools,and C-cycle enzyme activities in soils,for two consecutive years(2015 and 2016)in the North-Western Himalayas(NWH).Peach rhizosphere soils were sampled at the topsoil(0-15 cm)and subsoil(16-30 cm)layers,along with rhizosphere soils from adjacent perennial grasses,which served as a control.Values for most of the assessed parameters,including very labile C,labile C,microbial biomass C,permanganate oxidizable C,dissolved organic C,mineralizable C,amylase activity,and carboxymethyl-cellulase activity,were significantly(P<0.05)higher at PS-3 than at other phenological stages of peach.Conversely,a sudden decline in these soil variables was recorded at PS-5,followed by a slight buildup at PS-6,particularly in the topsoil of the peach orchard.Short-term changes in organic C fractions of different oxidizability,influenced by peach phenological stage,significantly(P<0.05)affected C management index,C pool index,and lability index.Both the C management index and lability index showed their highest values at PS-3 and their lowest values at PS-5,clearly indicating short-term accretion and depletion of SOC,in tandem with the peach phenological events.Principal component analysis suggested that a composite of soil indicators,including microbial biomass C,dissolved organic C,amylase,and invertase,could help detect short-term changes in SOC content.It is concluded that peach phenological events had a major impact on the short-term variations of the studied soil variables,which could be attributed to changes in the above-and belowground plant residues,as well as the extent of nutrients and water acquisition. | Sovan DEBNATH Brij Lai ATTRI Anil KUMAR Arun KISHOR Raj NARAYAN Kanchan SINHA Arpan BHOWMIK Anil SHARMA Desh Beer SINGH | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,5: | 2 |

| 17 | 光动力疗法联合火针治疗中重度痤疮的临床疗效观察显示文摘目的探究5-氨基酮戊酸(ALA)光动力联合火针治疗中重度痤疮的有效性与安全性。方法将2020年5月至2020年12月就诊于十堰市人民医院皮肤科的58例中重度痤疮患者作为研究对象。按照随机原则分为两组,治疗组29例予以火针预处理+ALA光动力治疗,2周治疗1次,共4次;对照组29例予以火针处理+多西环素治疗,口服多西环素每日2次,每次0.1 g,共8周;火针处理2周一次,共4次。治疗结束4周后对两组进行随访统计。比较两组疗效,评估两组治疗后的不良反应。结果治疗组临床总有效率明显高于对照组(79.31%vs.55.17%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);治疗后,治疗组和对照组患者痤疮综合分级系统(GAGS)评分均明显下降,治疗组下降程度大于对照组(P<0.05);治疗组和对照组治疗后均出现红斑、肿痛、色沉等不良反应,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论光动力联合火针疗法疗效优于多西环素联合火针疗法,两组即刻局部不良反应相当;光动力联合火针组不出现头晕、头痛、消化道症状等全身反应,是一种安全有效的治疗方式。 | 邹华盛 Apurba Kanchan Roy 孟祖东 王玉 | 2022 | 中国医学工程2022,30,8: | 1 |
