| 5 | E2E-BPF microscope:extended depth-of-field microscopy using learning-based implementation of binary phase filter and image deconvolution显示文摘Several image-based biomedical diagnoses require high-resolution imaging capabilities at large spatial scales.However,conventional microscopes exhibit an inherent trade-off between depth-of-field(DoF)and spatial resolution,and thus require objects to be refocused at each lateral location,which is time consuming.Here,we present a computational imaging platform,termed E2E-BPF microscope,which enables large-area,high-resolution imaging of large-scale objects without serial refocusing.This method involves a physics-incorporated,deep-learned design of binary phase filter(BPF)and jointly optimized deconvolution neural network,which altogether produces high-resolution,high-contrast images over extended depth ranges.We demonstrate the method through numerical simulations and experiments with fluorescently labeled beads,cells and tissue section,and present high-resolution imaging capability over a 15.5-fold larger DoF than the conventional microscope.Our method provides highly effective and scalable strategy for DoF-extended optical imaging system,and is expected to find numerous applications in rapid image-based diagnosis,optical vision,and metrology. | Baekcheon Seong Woovin Kim Younghun Kim Kyung-A Hyun Hyo-Il Jung Jong-Seok Lee Jeonghoon Yoo Chulmin Joo | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,12: | 1 |

| 13 | Conditioned secretome of adipose-derived stem cells improves dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis in mice显示文摘BACKGROUND Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)is related to uncontrolled immune response.Currently,there is no successful treatment for significant improvement in IBD.Stem cells display their therapeutic effects through their repopulating capacity or secreting factors.AIM To investigate the effects of conditioned mouse adipose-derived stem cells(mADSCs)secretome on colitis-induced mice.METHODS mADSCs were isolated from adipose tissue of C57BL/6 mice.Conditioned mADSCs secrectome was obtained by culturing of mADSCs with lipopolysaccharides(LPS,1μg/mL)for 24 h.Acute colitis was induced by 2%dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)drinking water for 7 d and then normal drinking water for 4 d.The mice were treated with normal culture medium(NM group),conditioned mADSCs secretome(CM group)or mADSCs(SC group).The length of colon and histopatholgy of colon tissues were evaluated.The mRNA expression levels of inflammatory cytokines in colon tissue and the serum interleukin(IL)-6 levels were determined.RESULTS The isolated mADSCs maintained the mADSCs specific gene expression profiles during experiment.The conditioned mADSCs secretome released by the treatment of mADSCs with LPS contained mainly inflammatory chemokines,colony-stimulating factors and inflammatory cytokines.The loss of body weight and reduction in colon length were ameliorated in the CM group.The conditioned mADSCs secretome reduced the histological score in colon tissue.The expression of IL-1b and IL-6 mRNAs in colon tissues significantly inhibited in the CM group compared to SC group and NM group,respectively.The elevation of serum IL-6 levels was also ameliorated in the CM group.These results indicate that the conditioned mADSCs secretome suppressed the synthesis of inflammatory cytokines in damaged colon tissue and the elevation of serum IL-6 concentration in DSS-induced mice CONCLUSION Conditioned mADSCs secretome might play regenerative roles by the suppression of IL-6 in serum and tissue during acute colitis,and may be more effective than stem cells themselves in the regeneration of colon tissue. | Seunghun Lee Jeonghoon Heo Eun-Kyung Ahn Jae Hyun Kim Young-Ho Kim Hee-Kyung Chang Sang-Joon Lee Jongsik Kim Seun-Ja Park | 2021 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,23: | 0 |
| 14 | ROAD+:Route Optimization with Additional Destination-Information and Its Mobility Management in Mobile Networks显示文摘In the NEtwork MObility(NEMO) environment,mobile networks can form a nested structure.In nested mobile networks that use the NEMO Basic Support(NBS) protocol,pinball routing problems occur because packets are routed to all the home agents of the mobile routers using nested tunneling.In addition,the nodes in the same mobile networks can communicate with each other regardless of Internet connectivity.However,the nodes in some mobile networks that are based on NBS cannot communicate when the network is disconnected from the Internet.In this paper,we propose a route optimization scheme to solve these problems.We introduce a new IPv6 routing header named'destination-information header'(DH),which uses DH instead of routing header type 2 to optimize the route in the nested mobile network.The proposed scheme shows at least 30%better performance than ROTIO and similar performance improvement as DBU in inter-route optimization.With respect to intra-route optimization,the proposed scheme always uses the optimal routing path.In addition,the handover mechanism in ROAD+ outperforms existing schemes and is less sensitive to network size than other existing schemes. | Moonseong Kim Matt W. | 15 | Optimization of adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stromal cells transplantation for bone marrow repopulation following irradiation显示文摘BACKGROUND Bone marrow(BM)suppression is one of the most common side effects of radiotherapy and the primary cause of death following exposure to irradiation.Despite concerted efforts,there is no definitive treatment method available.Recent studies have reported using mesenchymal stromal cells(MSCs),but their therapeutic effects are contested.AIM We administered and examined the effects of various amounts of adipose-derived MSCs(ADSCs)in mice with radiation-induced BM suppression.METHODS Mice were divided into three groups:Normal control group,irradiated(RT)group,and stem cell-treated group following whole-body irradiation(WBI).Mouse ADSCs(mADSCs)were transplanted into the peritoneal cavity either once or three times at 5×10^(5) cells/200μL.The white blood cell count and the levels of,plasma cytokines,BM mRNA,and BM surface markers were compared between the three groups.Human BM-derived CD34+hematopoietic progenitor cells were co-cultured with human ADSCs(hADSCs)or incubated in the presence of hADSCs conditioned media to investigate the effect on human cells in vitro.RESULTS The survival rate of mice that received one transplant of mADSCs was higher than that of mice that received three transplants.Multiple transplantations of ADSCs delayed the repopulation of BM hematopoietic stem cells.Anti-inflammatory effects and M2 polarization by intraperitoneal ADSCs might suppress erythropoiesis and induce myelopoiesis in sub-lethally RT mice.CONCLUSION The results suggested that an optimal amount of MSCs could improve survival rates post-WBI. | Min-Jung Kim Won Moon Jeonghoon Heo Sangwook Lim Seung-Hyun Lee Jee-Yeong Jeong Sang Joon Lee | 2022 | World Journal of Stem Cells2022,14,3: | 0 |
| 16 | Network Log-Based SSH Brute-Force Attack Detection Model显示文摘The rapid advancement of IT technology has enabled the quick discovery,sharing and collection of quality information,but has also increased cyberattacks at a fast pace at the same time.There exists no means to block these cyberattacks completely,and all security policies need to consider the possibility of external attacks.Therefore,it is crucial to reduce external attacks through preventative measures.In general,since routers located in the upper part of a firewall can hardly be protected by security systems,they are exposed to numerous unblocked cyberattacks.Routers block unnecessary services and accept necessary ones while taking appropriate measures to reduce vulnerability,block unauthorized access,and generate relevant logs.Most logs created through unauthorized access are caused by SSH brute-force attacks,and therefore IP data of the attack can be collected through the logs.This paper proposes a model to detect SSH brute-force attacks through their logs,collect their IP address,and control access from that IP address.In this paper,we present a model that extracts and fragments the specific data required from the packets of collected routers in order to detect indiscriminate SSH input attacks.To do so,the model multiplies a user’s access records in each packet by weights and adds them to the blacklist according to a final calculated result value.In addition,the model can specify the internal IP of an attack attempt and defend against the first 29 destination IP addresses attempting the attack. | Jeonghoon Park Jinsu Kim B.B.Gupta Namje Park | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,7: | 0 |
