| 3 | Photoelectrochemical degradation of Methylene Blue with β-PbO_2 electrodes driven by visible light irradiation显示文摘β-PbO2 electrodes were prepared by electro-deposition and characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and linear sweep voltammetry.We confirmed pure β-PbO2 crystals were on the electrode and it had a high oxygen evolution potential.The photoactivity and photoelectrochemical(PEC) properties of the β-PbO2 electrode were investigated under visible light irradiation(λ > 420 nm) for the decolorization of Methylene Blue.Pseudo first-order kinetics parameter(Kapp) for dye decolorization using the β-PbO2 electrode achieved 6.71×10-4 min-1 under visible light irradiation,which indicated its excellent visible light-induced photoactivity.The Kapp of the PEC process was as much as 1.41×10-3 min-1 and was 1.71 times that of visible light irradiation or electrolysis even in the presence of the β-PbO2 electrode.A significant synergetic effect was observed in the PEC system.We also employed TiO2 modified β-PbO2 electrodes in this test,which revealed that the TiO2 immobilized on the β-PbO2 electrode inhibited the visible light-induced PEC efficiency despite the amount of TiO2 used for electrode preparation.The β-PbO2 electrode was also superior to the dimensionally stable anode(Ti/Ru0.3Ti0.7O2) in visible light-induced photoactivity and PEC efficiency. | Guoting Li HoYin Yip Kin Hang Wong Chun Hu Jiuhui Qu Po Keung Wong | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6: | 4 |

| 5 | Lycium barbarum extract promotes M2 polarization and reduces oligomeric amyloid-β-induced inflammatory reactions in microglial cells显示文摘Lycium barbarum(LB)is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been demonstrated to exhibit a wide variety of biological functions,such as antioxidation,neuroprotection,and immune modulation.One of the main mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease is that microglia activated by amyloid beta(Aβ)transform from the resting state to an M1 state and release pro-inflammatory cytokines to the surrounding environment.In the present study,immortalized microglial cells were pretreated with L.barbarum extract for 1 hour and then treated with oligomeric Aβfor 23 hours.The results showed that LB extract significantly increased the survival of oligomeric Aβ-induced microglial cells,downregulated the expression of M1 pro-inflammatory markers(inducible nitric oxide synthase,tumor necrosis factorα,interleukin-6,and interleukin-1β),and upregulated the expression of M2 anti-inflammatory markers(arginase-1,chitinase-like protein 3,and interleukin-4).LB extract also inhibited the oligomeric Aβ-induced secretion of tumor necrosis factorα,interleukin-6,and interleukin-1βin microglial cells.The results of in vitro cytological experiments suggest that,in microglial cells,LB extract can inhibit oligomeric Aβ-induced M1 polarization and concomitant inflammatory reactions,and promote M2 polarization. | Zhong-Qing Sun Jin-Feng Liu Wei Luo Ching-Hin Wong Kwok-Fai So Yong Hu Kin Chiu | 2022 | Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,1: | 4 |
| 6 | Investigation on Flow Accelerated Corrosion Mitigation for Secondary Circuit Piping of the Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant显示文摘Flow accelerated corrosion(FAC) is the main failure cause of the secondary circuit carbon steel piping in nuclear power plants.The piping failures caused by FAC have resulted in numerous unplanned outages and tragic fatalities.The existing researches focus on the main factors contributing to FAC,which include metallurgical factors,environmental factors and hydrodynamic factors. Some effective FAC management methods and programs with long term monitoring and inspection data analysis are recommended.But a comprehensive FAC management system should be developed in order to mitigate and manage FAC systematically.In this paper,the FAC influencing factors are analyzed in combination with the operating conditions of the secondary circuit piping in the Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant(TQNPP),China(Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Company Limited,China).A comprehensive FAC mitigation and management system is developed for TQNPP secondary circuit piping.The system is composed of five processes,viz.materials substitution,water chemical optimization,long-term monitor strategy for the susceptible piping,integrity evaluation of the local thinning defects,and repair or replacement.With the implementation of the five processes,the material of FAC sensitive pipe fittings are modified from carbon steel to stainless steel,N_2H_4 and NH_3 are finally selected as the water chemical regulator of secondary circuit,the secondary circuit pips are classified according to FAC susceptibility in order to conduct long term monitoring strategy,and an integrity evaluation flow for local thinning caused by FAC in carbon steel piping is developed.If the component with local thinning defects is not fit-for-service,corresponding repair or replacement should be conducted.The comprehensive FAC mitigation and management system with five interrelated processes would be a cost-effective method of increasing personnel safety,plant safety and availability. | ZHAO Liang HU Jianqun WU Zhigang WANG Kin | 2011 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2011,24,2: | 3 |

| 9 | Multiple air route crossing waypoints optimization via artificial potential field method显示文摘Air route crossing waypoint optimization is one of the effective ways to improve airspace utilization,capacity and resilience in dealing with air traffic congestion and delay.However,research is lacking on the optimization of multiple Crossing Waypoints(CWPs)in the fragmented airspace separated by Prohibited,Restricted and Dangerous areas(PRDs).To tackle this issue,this paper proposes an Artificial Potential Field(APF)model considering attractive forces produced by the optimal routes and repulsive forces generated by obstacles.An optimization framework based on the APF model is proposed to optimize the different airspace topologies varying the number of CWPs,air route segments and PRDs.Based on the framework,an adaptive method is developed to dynamically control the optimization process in minimizing the total air route cost.The proposed model is applied to a busy controlled airspace.And the obtained results show that after optimization the safety-related indicators:conflict number and controller workload reduced by 7.75%and 6.51%respectively.As for the cost-effectiveness indicators:total route length,total air route cost and non-linear coefficient,declined by 1.74%,3.13%and 1.70%respectively.While the predictability indicator,total flight delay,saw a notable reduction by 7.96%.The proposed framework and methodology can also provide an insight in the understanding of the optimization to other network systems. | Bizhao PANG Wei DAI Xinting HU Fuqing DAI Kin Huat LOW | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4: | 3 |
