| 1 | Effect of Powder Particle Shape on the Properties of In Situ Ti–TiB Composite Materials Produced by Selective Laser Melting显示文摘This work studied the preparation of starting powder mixture influenced by milling time and its effect on the particle morphology(especially the shape) and, consequently, density and compression properties of in situ Ti–Ti B composite materials produced by selective laser melting(SLM) technology. Starting powder composite system was prepared by mixing 95 wt% commercially pure titanium(CP-Ti) and 5wt% titanium diboride(TiB 2) powders and subsequently milled for two different times(i.e. 2 h and 4 h).The milled powder mixtures after 2 h and 4 h show nearly spherical and irregular shape, respectively.Subsequently, the resultant Ti–5 wt% TiB 2 powder mixtures were used for SLM processing. Scanning electron microscopy image of the SLM-processed Ti–Ti B composite samples show needle-shape TiB phase distributed across the Ti matrix, which is the product of an in-situ chemical reaction between Ti and TiB 2during SLM. The Ti–Ti B composite samples prepared from 2 h and 4 h milled Ti–TiB 2 powders show different relative densities of 99.5% and 95.1%, respectively. Also, the compression properties such as ultimate strength and compression strain for the 99.5% dense composite samples is 1421 MPa and 17.8%, respectively, which are superior to those(883 MPa and 5.5%, respectively) for the 95.1% dense sample. | 2 | Colon cancer and the epidermal growth factor receptor:Current treatment paradigms,the importance of diet,and the role of chemoprevention显示文摘Colorectal cancer represents the third most common and the second deadliest type of cancer for both men and women in the United States claiming over 50000 lives in 2014. The 5-year survival rate for patients diagnosed with metastatic colon and rectal cancer is < 15%. Early detection and more effective treatments are urgently needed to reduce morbidity and mortality of patients afflicted with this disease. Here we will review the risk factors and current treatment paradigms for colorectal cancer, with an emphasis on the role of chemoprevention as they relate to epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) blockade. We will discuss how various EGFR ligands are upregulated in the presence of Western diets high in saturated and N-6 polyunsaturated fats. We will also outline the various mechanisms of EGFR inhibition that are induced by naturally occurring chemopreventative agents such as ginseng, green tea, and curcumin. | 3 | Novel degradation products of argatroban: Isolation, synthesis and extensive characterization using NMR and LC-PDA-MS/Q-TOF显示文摘Forced degradation study of argatroban under conditions of hydrolysis(neutral, acidic and alkaline), oxidation,photolysis and thermal stress, as suggested in the ICH Q1 A(R2), was accomplished. The drug showed significant degradation under hydrolysis(acidic, alkaline) and oxidation(peroxide stress) conditions. The drug remained stable under thermal and photolytic stress conditions. In total, seven novel degradation products(DP-1 to DP-7) were found under diverse conditions, which were not reported earlier. | 7 | Draft genome sequence of a less-known wild Vigna: Beach pea(V. marina cv. ANBp-14-03)显示文摘Beach pea or beach cowpea(Vigna marina(Burm.)Merr.)belongs to the family Fabaceae.It is a close relative of cultivated Vigna species such as adzuki bean(V.angularis),cowpea(V.unguiculata),mung bean(V.radiata),and blackgram(V.mungo),and is distributed throughout the tropics.With its ability to tolerate salt stress,beach pea has great potential to contribute salt-tolerance genes for developing salt-tolerant cultivars in cultivated Vigna species.However,it is still underutilized in Vigna breeding programs.A draft genome sequence of beach pea was generated using a high-throughput next-generation sequencing platform,yielding 23.7 Gb of sequence from 79,929,868 filtered reads.A de novo genome assembly containing 68,731 scaffolds gave an N50 length of 10,272 bp and the assembled sequences totaled 365.6 Mb.A total of 35,448 SSRs,including 3574 compound SSRs,were identified and primer pairs for most of these SSRs were designed.Genome analysis identified 50,670 genes with mean coding sequence length 1042 bp.Phylogenetic analysis revealed highest sequence similarity with V.angularis,followed by V.radiata.Comparison with the V.angularis genome revealed 16,699 SNPs and 2253 InDels and comparison with the V.radiata genome revealed 17,538 SNPs and 2300 InDels.To our knowledge this is the first draft genome sequence of beach pea derived from an accession(ANBp-14-03)adapted locally in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India.The draft genome sequence may facilitate the genetic enhancement in cultivated Vigna species. | Awnindra Kumar Singh A.Velmurugan Debjyoti Sen Gupta Jitendra Kumar Ravi Kesari Aravind Konda Narendra Pratap Singh Sibnarayan Dam Roy Utpal Biswas R.Rahul Kumar Sanjay Singh | 2019 | The Crop Journal2019,7,5: | 2 |
