2Self-propagating high-temperature synthesis of ZrO_2 incorporated Gd_2Ti_2O_7 pyrochlore显示文摘In this research, Zr-doped Gd_2Ti_2O_7 pyrochlores, with the composition of Gd_2(Ti_(1-x)Zr_x)_2O_7, were firstly synthesized by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis plus quick pressing(SHS/QP) using CuO as the oxidant and Ti as the reductant. To improve the radiation resistance of titanate–pyrochlore, up to 35 at% Zr was incorporated to substitute the Ti site of Gd_2Ti_2O_7 pyrochlore(Gd_2(Ti_(0.75)Zr_(0.35))_2O_7). XRD and SEM microstructural characterizations showed the formation of a composite ceramic with the major pyrochlore phase and the minor Cu phase. The generated temperature of samples decreased from 1702to 1011 ℃ with increasing Zr content. The effects of sintering temperature and pressure time on phase composition and microstructure were systematically studied. Besides, the influence of thermal transmission on the whole combustion process was also explored. The pyrochlore-based waste form possessed high bulk density of 6.25 g/cm^3 and Vickers hardness of 10.81 GPa. 3Solid-state reaction synthesis and chemical stability studies in Nd-doped zirconolite-rich ceramics显示文摘In this study, Nd-bearing zirconolite-rich ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction process using CaF_2,ZrO_2, Ti,TiO_2, Fe_2 O_3 and Nd_2O_3 as the raw materials. Neodymium was used as trivalent actinide surrogate and designed to substitute the Ca and Zr sites of zirconolite with general stoichiometry of Ca_(1-x)Zr_(1-x)Nd_(2 x)Ti_2O_7(0≤x≤0.3). Density of Fe-Nd-O sample reaches a maximum value of 4.13 g/cm^2 after being sintered at 1325 ℃ for 42 h. Three major phases, namely zirconolite, perovskite and pseudobrookite, are observed in all these samples. The EDX result shows that Nd_2O_3 can be successfully incorporated into the lattice structure of the prepared zirconolite-rich minerals and replace the Ca sites of zirconolite and perovskite with Fe^(3+) as the charge-compensating ion. Furthermore, the thermal conductivities are all in the range of 1.51-1.67 W/(m·K). 4Synthesis,microstructure,and properties of high purity Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) ceramics fabricated by spark plasma sintering显示文摘The synthesis,microstructure,and properties of high purity dense bulk Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) ceramics were studied.High purity Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) powder was synthesized at 1873 K starting from Mo,Ti,Al,and graphite powders with a molar ratio of 2:1:1.25:2.The synthesis mechanism of Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) was explored by analyzing the compositions of samples sintered at different temperatures.It was found that the Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) phase was formed from the reaction among Mo3Al2C,Mo2C,TiC,and C.Dense Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) bulk sample was prepared by spark plasma sintering(SPS)at 1673 K under a pressure of 40 MPa.The relative density of the dense sample was 98.3%.The mean grain size was 3.5μm in length and 1.5μm in width.The typical layered structure could be clearly observed.The electrical conductivity of Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) ceramic measured at the temperature range of 2-300 K decreased from 0.95×10^(6) to 0.77×10^(6)Ω^(-1)·m^(-1).Thermal conductivity measured at the temperature range of 300-1273 K decreased from 8.0 to 6.4 W·(m·K)^(-1).The thermal expansion coefficient(TEC)of Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) measured at the temperature of 350-1100 K was calculated as 9.0×10^(-6) K^(-1).Additionally,the layered structure and fine grain size benefited for excellent mechanical properties of low intrinsic Vickers hardness of 5.2 GPa,high flexural strength of 407.9 MPa,high fracture toughness of 6.5 MPa·m^(1/2),and high compressive strength of 1079 MPa.Even at the indentation load of 300 N,the residual flexural strength could hold 84% of the value of undamaged one,indicating remarkable damage tolerance.Furthermore,it was confirmed that Mo_(2)TiAlC_(2) ceramic had a good oxidation resistance below 1200 K in the air.Yunhui NIU Shuai FU Kuibao ZHANG Bo DAI Haibin ZHANG Salvatore GRASSO Chunfeng HU 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,6:4
5Combustion synthesis and characterizations of Sm2O3 doped zirconolite-rich waste forms with CuO as oxidant显示文摘Zirconolite is one of the most important matrix materials for nuclear waste immobilization.In this study,Sm was employed as the surrogate of trivalent actinides.Sm-doped zirconolite-rich waste forms were readily prepared by combustion synthesis(CS)using CuO as the oxidant.Two different schemes with or without Al2O3 as the charge compensator were carried out simultaneously.The results demonstrate that Al2O3 addition results in complex phase composition.On the other hand,the samples without Al2O3 addition show desirable products of zirconolite and pyrochlore.The EDX analysis shows that Sm is concurrently incorporated into the Ca and Zr sites of zirconolite,which transforms to pyrochlore structure with high Sm2O3 contents.The aqueous durability of representative Sm-doped sample(Sm-0.6)was investigated.The 42 days normalized leaching rate of Sm is as low as 6.41×10-7 g/(m2 d),which exhibits high durability of Sm-doped sample.Kuibao Zhang Dan Yin Zongsheng He Jiali Xue Wenwen Zhao Haibin Zhang 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,12:2

7Combustion synthesis of Hf-doped zirconolite-rich composite waste forms and the aqueous durability显示文摘Zirconolite is recognized as one of the most durable waste matrices for the disposal of high-level radioactive wastes(HLWs).In this study,HfO2 was employed as the surrogate of tetravalent actinides.Hf-bearing zirconolite-based composite waste forms(CaZr1–xHfxTi2O7)were rapidly prepared by combustion synthesis(CS)using CuO as the oxidant,where quick pressing(QP)was introduced to obtain densified samples.Similar as solid state reaction process,the Zr site of zirconolite can be totally occupied by Hf(x=1.0)under the CS reaction.The original 2M zirconolite structure was maintained and a small amount of perovskite impurity phase was generated in the final products.The aqueous durability of representative sample(Cu-Hf-0.6)was tested,where the 42-day normalized leaching rates(LRi)of Ca,Cu,and Hf are 0.25,3.10×10–2,and 1.11×10–8 g·m–2·d–1.Kuibao ZHANG Dan YIN Zongsheng HE Baozhu LUO Haibin ZHANG 2019Journal of Advanced Ceramics2019,8,3:1

9Two star-shaped small molecule donors based on benzodithiophene unit for organic solar cells显示文摘Star-shaped small molecules have attracted great attention for organic solar cells(OSCs)because they have three-dimensional charge-transport characteristics,strong light absorption capacities and easily tunable energy levels.Herein,three-and four-armed star-shaped small molecule donors,namely BDT-3 Th and BDT-4 Th,respectively,have been successfully designed and synthesized,which used benzodithiophene(BDT)as the central unit.The two star-shaped intermediates(2 a and 2 b)could be simultaneously obtained by one-step of Suzuki coupling,and 1,2-dimethoxyethane played a key role in the Suzuki coupling.Both of them have excellent thermal stability,good solubility and broad absorption.Four-armed BDT-4 Th shows a slightly higher extinction coefficient,a deeper HOMO energy level and an obviously better phase separation morphology when blended with Y6 than three-armed BDT-3 Th.As a result,increased power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 5.83%is obtained in the BDT-4 Th:Y6-based OSC devices,which is obviously higher than that of the BDT-3 Th:Y6-based devices(PCE=3.78%).To the best of our knowledge,this is the highest PCE among the BDT-based star-shaped donors-based OSCs.This result provides an effective strategy to obtain star-shaped small molecule donor materials for high efficient organic solar cells.Jun Xu Jinsheng Zhang Daobin Yang Kuibao Yu Dandan Li Zihao Xia Ziyi Ge 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,1:0
1018.01%Efficiency organic solar cell and 2.53%light utilization efficiency semitransparent organic solar cell enabled by optimizing PM6:Y6 active layer morphology显示文摘Optimizing the photoactive layer morphology is a simple,promising way to improve the power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)of organic solar cells(OSCs).Here,we compared different post-processing treatments on PM6:Y6 blend films and relevant effects on device performances,including as-cast,thermal annealing and solvent annealing.This solvent annealing processes can effectively improve the vertical distribution and aggregation of polymer donors and small molecule acceptors,then optimize the active layer film morphology,ultimately elevating PCE.Thus,one of champion efficiencies of 18.01%was achieved based on the PM6:Y6 binary OSCs.In addition,a relatively high light utilization efficiency(2.53%)was achieved when a transparent electrode made of Cu(1 nm)and Ag(15 nm)was utilized to fabricate a semitransparent OSC with a remarkable PCE of 13.07%and 19.33%average visible-light transmittance.These results demonstrated that carefully optimizing morphology of active layer is conducive to achieving a high-performance OSC.Kuibao Yu Wei Song Jinfeng Ge Kanghui Zheng Lin Xie Zhenyu Chen Yi Qiu Ling Hong Cuirong Liu Ziyi Ge 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,8:0
11Effects of subtle change in side chains on the photovoltaic performance of small molecular donors for solar cells显示文摘Small-molecule organic solar cells(SMOSCs)have attracted considerable attention owing to the merits of small molecules,such as easy purification,well-defined chemical structure.To achieve high-performance SMOSCs,the rational design of well-matched donor and acceptor materials is extremely essential.In this work,two new small molecular donor materials with subtle change in the conjugated side thiophene rings are synthesized.The subtle change significantly affects the photovoltaic performance of molecular donors.Compared with chlorinated molecule MDJ-Cl,the non-chlorinated analogue MDJ exhibits decreased miscibility with the non-fullerene acceptor Y6,can more efficiently quench the excitons of Y6.As a result,a improved PCE of 11.16% is obtained for MDJ:Y6 based SMOSCs.The results highlight the importance of fine-tuning the molecular structure to achieve high-performance SMOSCs.Xiang Gao Kuibao Yu Yanjiao Zhao Tao Zhang Jing Wen Zifeng Liu Zhihao Liu Guofeng Ye Jianhong Gao Ziyi Ge Zhitian Liu 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,10:0
