1Neural substrates of data-driven scientific discovery:An fMRI study during performance of number series completion task显示文摘Although much has been known about how humans psychologically perform data-driven scientific discovery,less has been known about its brain mechanism.The number series completion is a typical data-driven scientific discovery task,and has been demonstrated to possess the priming effect,which is attributed to the regularity identification and its subsequent extrapolation.In order to reduce the heterogeneities and make the experimental task proper for a brain imaging study,the number magnitude and arithmetic operation involved in number series completion tasks are further restricted.Behavioral performance in Experiment 1 shows the reliable priming effect for targets as expected.Then,a factorial design (the priming effect:prime vs.target;the period length:simple vs.complex) of event-related functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is used in Experiment 2 to examine the neural basis of data-driven scientific discovery.The fMRI results reveal a double dissociation of the left DLPFC (dorsolateral prefrontal cortex) and the left APFC (anterior prefrontal cortex) between the simple (period length=1) and the complex (period length=2) number series completion task.The priming effect in the left DLPFC is more significant for the simple task than for the complex task,while the priming effect in the left APFC is more significant for the complex task than for the simple task.The reliable double dissociation may suggest the different roles of the left DLPFC and left APFC in data-driven scientific discovery.The left DLPFC (BA 46) may play a crucial role in rule identification,while the left APFC (BA 10) may be related to mental set maintenance needed during rule identification and extrapolation.ZHONG Ning LIANG PeiPeng QIN YuLin LU ShengFu YANG YanHui LI KunCheng 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,5:8
2Diffusive-stochastic-viscoelastic model on specific adhesion of viscoelastic solids via molecular bonds显示文摘A diffusive-stochastic-viscoelastic model is proposed for the specific adhesion of viscoelastic solids via stochastically formed molecular bonds. In this model, we assumed that molecular level behaviours, including the diffusion of mobile adhesion molecules and stochastic reaction between adhesion molecules and binding sites, obey the Markovian stochastic processes, while mesoscopic deformations of the viscoelastic media are governed by continuum mechanics. Through Monte Carlo simulations of this model, we systematically investigated how the competition between time scales of molecular diffusion, reaction, and deformation creep of the solids may influence the lifetime and dynamic strength of the adhesion. We revealed that there exists an optimal characteristic time of molecule diffusion corresponding to the longest lifetime and largest adhesion strength, which is in good agreement with experimental observed characteristic time scales of molecular diffusion in cell membranes. In addition, we identified that the media viscosity can significantly increase the lifetime and dynamic strength, since the deformation creep and stress relaxation can effectively reduce the concentration of interfacial stress and increases the rebinding probability of molecular bonds.Kuncheng He Long Li Jizeng Wang 2019Acta Mechanica Sinica2019,35,2:2
3Oil Spill Risk Assessment of Offshore Pipeline in the Bohai Sea Under the Perspective of Ecological Protection显示文摘In recent decades,the exploration and development of marine oil and gas resources have increased significantly to meet the increasing energy demand of mankind.The Bohai Sea is a semi-closed continental sea that has a weak water exchange capacity and high ecological fragility.However,at present,more than 200 oil platforms have been built in the Bohai Sea,with more than 270 offshore oil pipelines having a length exceeding 1600 km.The oil spill pollution of offshore platforms has a great impact on the marine environment and ecosystems.Therefore,a comprehensive assessment of its risks is of great practical significance.This paper systematically constructs a comprehensive oil spill risk assessment model that combines the oil spill risk probability model and the ocean hydrodynamic model.This paper uses the Bohai Sea offshore pipeline as an example to assess its oil spill risk.The high-risk-value areas of the Bohai Sea offshore pipeline are mainly distributed at the bottom of Liaodong Bay,the bottom of Bohai Bay,near the Caofeidian area,and the northern part of the Yellow River Estuary.ZHANG Kuncheng WANG Xing LIU Ying TIAN Shizheng WU Lunyu WAN Xiaole 2023Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,3:1

15RNA-seq analysis reveals the critical role of the novel lnc RNA BIANCR in intramuscular adipogenesis through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway显示文摘Background Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)regulate numerous biological processes,including adipogenesis.Research on adipogenesis will assist in the treatment of human metabolic diseases and improve meat quality in livestock,such as the content of intramuscular fat(IMF).However,the significance of lncRNAs in intramuscular adipogenesis remains unclear.This research aimed to reveal the lncRNAs transcriptomic profiles in the process of bovine intramuscular adipogenesis and to identify the lncRNAs involved in the adipogenesis of bovine intramuscular adipocytes.Results In this research,a landscape of lncRNAs was identified with RNA-seq in bovine intramuscular adipocytes at four adipogenesis stages(0 d,3 d,6 d,and 9 d after differentiation).A total of 7035 lncRNAs were detected,including 3396 novel lncRNAs.Based on the results of differential analysis,co-expression analysis,and functional prediction,we focused on the bovine intramuscular adipogenesis-associated long non-coding RNA(BIANCR),a novel lncRNA that may have an important regulatory function.The knockdown of BIANCR inhibited proliferation and promoted apoptosis of intramuscular preadipocytes.Moreover,BIANCR knockdown inhibited intramuscular adipogenesis by regulating the ERK1/2 signaling pathway.Conclusion This study obtained the landscape of lncRNAs during adipogenesis in bovine intramuscular adipocytes.BIANCR plays a crucial role in adipogenesis through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway.The results are noteworthy for improving beef meat quality,molecular breeding,and metabolic disease research.Xinhao Ma Xinran Yang Dianqi Zhang Wenzhen Zhang Xiaoyu Wang Kuncheng Xie Jie He Chugang Mei Linsen Zan 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,3:1
