1SHRIMP U-Pb dating for a K-bentonite bed in the Tieling Formation,North China显示文摘A SHRIMP U-Pb zircon age of 1437±21 Ma was obtained for a recently discovered K-bentonite bed in the Tieling Formation,situated northeast of Beijing at the boundary between Liaoning and Hebei provinces,on the northern margin of the North China Craton(NCC).The SHRIMP U-Pb age places Tieling Formation near the end of the Calymmian Period of the early Mesoproterozoic Era.In addition,a SHRIMP U-Pb zircon date of 1372±18 Ma was acquired for K-bentonite beds in the overlying,dark-shale-dominated Xiamaling Formation from the same location northeast of Beijing.This date assigns a similar Mid-Mesoproterozoic(Ectasian Period) age for the Xiamaling Formation,as have previously determined dates from other sections northwest of Beijing.These dates indicate that the Tieling and Xiamaling formations,as well as the related succession in the eastern part of the Yanshan Mountains,represented by the well-known Meso-to Neoproterozoic standard section in Jixian,can be correlated well with sections northwest of Beijing in the western part of the Yanshan Mountains.In other words,the boundary between the Calymmian and Ectasian periods in the northern parts of the NCC is marked by the unconformity between the Tieling and Xiamaling formations in the northern NCC.This boundary was previously ascribed to the 'Qinyu Orogeny' and thought to be of Grenville age.In this regard,the conventional 'Qinyu Orogeny' should now be regarded as a short-lived regional uplift during Early Mesoproterozoic time,rather than a result from the Grenvillian assembly of the NCC to the Rodinia Supercontinent(~1.0 Ga).SU WenBo LI HuaiKun HUFF W D ETTENSOHN F R ZHANG ShiHong ZHOU HongYing WAN YuSheng 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,29:30

3Ca. 2.5 Ga TTG rocks in the western Alxa Block and their implications显示文摘The Alxa Block is considered part of the North China Craton, but the unambiguous Archean basement has not been reported. In this study, we present the first evidence of the Neoarchean rocks in the Beidashan area of the western Alxa Block. The petrographic and geochemical data show that these rocks are granodiorite with TTG (tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite) characteristics. Zircon U-Pb dating gave an age of 2522±30 Ma for the magmatic core and 2496±11 Ma for the metamorphic recrystallized rim. The near-identical age between the Latest Neoarchean magmatism and the high-grade metamorphism shows that these features were related to the same Latest Neoarchean-Earliest Paleoproterozoic tectonothermal event. The age-corrected Hf (t) value is mainly between 0.4 and 4.9. The two-stage zircon Hf model age ranges from 2.7 to 3.0 Ga, suggesting that the Mesoarchean- Neoarchean (2.7-3.0 Ga) juvenile crust was reworked at the end of the Neoarchean in the western Alxa Block. 4A^2.5 Ga magmatic event at the northern margin of the Yangtze craton:Evidence from U-Pb dating and Hf isotope analysis of zircons from the Douling Complex in the South Qinling orogen显示文摘The poorly studied Douling Complex is a crystalline basement that developed in the Neoproterozoic-Paleozoic weakly metamorphosed to non-metamorphosed strata at the South Qinling tectonic belt.Five banded dioritic-granitic gneiss samples from the Douling Complex were chosen for LA-MC-ICPMS U-Pb zircon dating,which yielded protolith emplacement ages of 2469±22Ma,2479±12 Ma,2497±21 Ma,2501±17 Ma and 2509±14 Ma,respectively.An important peak age of^2.48 Ga was also obtained for a metasedimentary rock in the same region.These discoveries suggest the occurrence of magmatic activity of2.51–2.47 Ga at the northern margin of the Yangtze craton.The age-correctedεHf(t)values obtained from in situ zircon Hf isotopic analysis are mainly between 5.5 and+0.3,and the two-stage zircon Hf model ages range from 3.30 to 2.95 Ga.Considering two important periods of^3.3–3.2 Ga and^2.95–2.90 Ga for the continental crustal growth in the Yangtze craton,we infer that the dioritic-granitic gneisses from the Douling Complex are the products of reworking of Paleo-to Mesoarchean crust at the northern margin of the Yangtze craton at^2.5 Ga.In addition,metamorphic ages of 837±8 Ma and 818±10 Ma were obtained for zircon overgrowth rims from a dioritic gneiss and a metasedimentary rock,indicating that the main phase amphibolite facies metamorphism of the Doulng Complex occurred during the Neoproterozoic,although its geological meaning remains ambiguous.HU Juan LIU XiaoChun CHEN LongYao QU Wei LI HuaiKun GENG JianZhen 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:6

13Magic hybrid structure as multifunctional electrocatalyst surpassing benchmark Pt/C enables practical hydrazine fuel cell integrated with energy-saving H_(2)production显示文摘A hybrid catalyst structure can provide abundant active sites and tailored electronic properties,but the major challenge lies in achieving delicate control over its composition and architecture to improve the catalytic activity toward different electrochemical reactions simultaneously.Herein,we present the rational design of a magic hybrid structure with low Pt loading(5.90 wt%),composed of CoPt_(3)and CoPt nanoparticles supported on N-doped carbon(CoPt_(3)/CoPt⊂PLNC).Importantly,it shows superior multifunctional catalytic activity in alkaline conditions,requiring a low overpotential of 341 and 20 mV to achieve 10 mA cm^(−2)for the hydrazine oxidation reaction(HzOR)/hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),respectively,and it delivers a half-wave potential of 0.847 V for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Theoretical calculations reveal that the metal-carbon hybrid modulates kinetic behavior and induces electron redistribution,achieving the energetic requirements for multiple electrocatalysis.We demonstrate sustainable H_(2)production utilizing solely the CoPt_(3)/CoPt⊂PLNC catalyst,without external electric power input,suggesting its inspiring practical utility.Ziyun Li Wentao Wang Qizhu Qian Yin Zhu Yafei Feng Yangyang Zhang Huaikun Zhang Mingyu Cheng Genqiang Zhang 2022eScience2022,2,4:0
