| 1 | Antibiotic growth promoter olaquindox increases pathogen susceptibility in fish by inducing gut microbiota dysbiosis显示文摘Low dose antibiotics have been used as growth promoters in livestock and fish. The use of antibiotics has been associated with reduced pathogen infections in livestock. In contrast, antibiotic growth promoter has been suspected of leading to disease outbreaks in aquaculture. However, this phenomenon is circumstantial and has not been confirmed in experimental conditions. In this study,we showed that antibiotic olaquindox increased the susceptibility of zebrafish to A. hydrophila infection. Olaquindox led to profound alterations in the intestinal microbiota of zebrafish, with a drastic bloom of Enterobacter and diminishing of Cetobacterium. Moreover, the innate immune responses of zebrafish were compromised by olaquindox(P<0.05). Transfer of microbiota to GF zebrafish indicated that while the immuo-suppression effect of olaquindox is a combined effect mediated by both OLA-altered micro biota and direct action of the antibiotic(P<0.05), the increased pathogen susceptibility was driven by the OLA-altered microbiota and was not dependent on direct antibiotic effect. | 2 | Variations in leaf characteristics of three species of angiosperms with changing of altitude in Qilian Mountains and their inland high-altitude pattern显示文摘In this study,39 leaf samples of three angiosperms(Betula albo-sinensis,tree species;and Caragana jubata and Berberis diaphana,shrub species) were collected in the middle-east parts at 2300–3640 m asl of the Qilian Mountains to study the variations of leaf characteristics of angiosperms with altitude change in inland high-altitude regions of China.Five leaf indexes,viz.epidermal cell density(ED),stomatal density(SD),stomatal index(SI),leaf vein density(VD) and carbon isotopic ratio(δ13C),were analyzed in laboratory.The results show that there are significant or even very significant linear correlations between the five indexes and altitude,of which SD,SI and VD exhibit a negative correlation with altitude,while ED and δ13C exhibit a positive correlation with altitude.Such a correlation assemblage is quite different from the situation in the low-altitude humid environment.Generally,only an assemblage of positive correlations can be observed between the indexes(viz.SD,SI and δ13C,etc.) and the altitude in the low-altitude humid environment,which were caused mainly by the plants' responses to the change of atmospheric CO2 concentration(Cα).However,an assemblage of the negative and positive correlations found here may be attributed mainly to the plants' responses to the change of physiological drought caused by change of low temperature,and here it is preliminarily called the inland high-altitude pattern of plant leaf variations. | WANG XueFang LI RuiYun LI XiaoZe MA FuJun SUN BaiNian WU JingYu WANG YouKui | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,4: | 8 |

| 4 | Transportation characteristics of motor vehicle pollutants near Beijing typical expressway显示文摘As a major source of air pollution in urban areas, the motor vehicle exhaust has attracted more and more attention due to its growing amount and serious harm to human health. It is of benefit to the pollutant control to make clear the transportation characteristics of vehicle exhausts. In this paper, the transportation characteristics of vehicle exhaust pollutants are investigated by means of the on-site measurement based on a typical Beijing expressway-Badaling expressway(G6 state expressway). The concentrations of CO, NO_x, SO_2 and particles near the expressway were obtained, by which the variations of the particle number and mass concentrations, as well as the gas pollutant volume concentrations in the vicinity of the roadways with the distance from the expressway were fitted. | 16 | Performance Design of High-Temperature Chloride Salts as Thermal Energy Storage Material显示文摘The chloride salts have great potential used as high-temperature thermal energy storage(TES) medium for the concentrated solar power system.In this study,LiCl,KCl and CaCl_(2) were selected as energy storage materials in order to further broaden the working temperature of ternary chloride salt and improve its energy storage density.The new high-temperature energy storage ternary chloride composed of LiCl,KCl,and CaCl_(2) was developed based on the phase diagram generated by FactSage.Three components of LiCl-KCl-CaCl_(2) with the mass ratio of 37.85%-53.38%-8.77%,30.90%-13.82%-55.28% and 1.78%-18.61%-79.61% were developed,of which the corresponding melting temperature(T_(m)) 340.93,433.57 and 626.85℃,respectively,was obtained either.Considering that T_(m) of the third group of salts was too high,only the first two groups of salts were tested.DSC test showed that the actual melting point was only 0.46% and 1.64% different from the melting point predicted by Factsage.The thermal properties of the two ternary chloride salts were also compared.The solid and liquid-specific heat of ternary salts was determined by DSC using sapphire as the standard reference.The vapor pressure and decomposition temperature of ternary chloride salts were investigated.The results showed that the vapor pressure of salt 1 was almost constant below 650℃ by FactSage.Meanwhile,the TG results showed that the upper working temperature of salt 1 was 650℃ under the air atmosphere.In addition,the ternary chloride salts after short-term cycling still exhibited excellent thermal properties,which revealed that these good thermal properties make them have broad application prospects in high-temperature thermal energy storage systems. | ZHAO Le WANG Jingyao CUI Liu LI Baorang DU Xiaoze WU Hongwei | 2024 | Journal of Thermal Science2024,33,2: | 0 |

| 18 | Elemental composition and its environmental significance for the varicolored hills in the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County,China显示文摘The varicolored hills in the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains of northern China,in the Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province's Sunan Yugur Autonomous County,have given this region a unique geomorphology.In this paper,we describe the elemental composition,lithological characteristics,and source type of the sediments that formed the varicolored hills.We found that the major oxides that make up their sediments are Si O2,Al2O3 and Na2 O.These sediments had higher Fe2O3,Mg O,Ca O,and Na2 O contents and lower Si O2,Al2O3,K2 O,and Ti O2 contents than in the major Fangyan rock group of the Jianglang Mountains Danxia landform and the red paleosols that have accumulated in the Yaojia Formation of the Songliao Basin.The varicolored hills have developed their strong coloration as a result of oxidation or reduction of Fe.Our data suggest that the sediments developed from terrestrial detrital deposits. | CaiXia Zhang XiaoZe Li Zhong Sun JinChang Li | 2015 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2015,7,3: | 0 |
| 19 | Active learning to overcome exponential-wall problem for effective structure prediction of chemical-disordered materials显示文摘Chemical-disordered materials have a wide range of applications whereas the determination of their structures or configurations isone of the most important and challenging problems. Traditional methods are extremely inefficient or intractable for large systemsdue to the notorious exponential-wall issue that the number of possible structures increase exponentially for N-body systems.Herein, we introduce an efficient approach to predict the thermodynamically stable structures of chemical-disordered materials viaactive-learning accompanied by first-principles calculations. Our method, named LAsou, can efficiently compress the samplingspace and dramatically reduce the computational cost. Three distinct and typical finite-size systems are investigated, including theanion-disordered BaSc(O_(x)F_(1−x))3 (x = 0.667), the cation-disordered Ca_(1−x)Mn_(x)CO_(3) (x = 0.25) with larger size and the defect-disordered ε-FeC_(x) (x = 0.5) with larger space. The commonly used enumeration method requires to explicitly calculate 2664, 1033,and 10496 configurations, respectively, while the LAsou method just needs to explicitly calculate about 15, 20, and 10configurations, respectively.
