1Simulation-Guided Design of Bamboo Leaf-Derived Carbon-Based High-Efficiency Evaporator for Solar-Driven Interface Water Evaporation显示文摘Solar interface water evaporation has been demonstrated to be an advanced method for freshwater production with high solar energy utilization.The development of evaporators with lower cost and higher efficiency is a key challenge in the manufacture of practical solar interface water evaporation devices.Herein,a bamboo leaf-derived carbon-based evaporator is designed based on the light trace simulation.And then,it is manufactured by vertical arrangement and carbonization of bamboo leaves and subsequent polyacrylamide modification.The vertically arranged carbon structure can extend the light path and increase the light-absorbing area,thus achieving excellent light absorption.Furthermore,the continuous distribution of polyacrylamide hydrogel between these vertical carbons can support high-speed water delivery and shorten the evaporation path.Therefore,this evaporator exhibits an ultrahigh average light absorption rate of~96.1%,a good water evaporation rate of 1.75 kg m^(-2) h^(-1),and an excellent solar-to-vapor efficiency of 91.9%under one sun irradiation.Furthermore,the device based on this evaporator can effectively achieve seawater desalination,heavy metal ion removal,and dye separation while completing water evaporation.And this device is highly available for actual outdoor applications and repeated recycling.Yitian Wu Rui Kong Chaoliang Ma Lanze Li Yu Zheng Yingzhuo Lu Lulu Liang Yajun Pang Qiang Wu Zhehong Shen Hao Chen 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,4:1
2Ultrasound-induced elevation of interlayer spacing and conductivity of CoNi hydroxides for high-performance Ni–Zn batteries显示文摘Nickel–zinc(Ni–Zn) batteries hold a lot of promise for energy storage thanks to their high output voltage, plentiful Zn supply, and low toxicity. Achieving the facile preparation of high-performance cathodes at ambient temperature remains a challenge, it is however essential for practical applications. Here, in the present study, an efficient ultrasound-assisted one-step fabrication of CoNi double hydroxide(UACoNi DH) microspheres at room temperature that performs well as a cathode for Ni–Zn batteries was proposed. This designed ultrasound-assisted method induces the formation of metal double hydroxide with an elevation of interlayer spacing and bulk conductivity while maintaining the structure features of CoNi DH prepared without ultrasound assistance. As a result, the UA-CoNi DH as an electrode material displays highly enhanced electrochemical properties relative to CoNi DH prepared without ultrasound assistance. Benefitting from the improved performance of our UA-CoNi DH electrode, the Ni–Zn battery with UA-CoNi DH as the cathode(UA-CoNi DH//Zn) delivers a good specific capacity(202.36 mAh/g) and rate performance(70.49% capacity maintained at a 10-fold higher current), presenting more than 71.61%and 21.99% improvement relative to the CoNi DH//Zn battery, respectively. 3Cell-penetrating riboflavin conjugate for antitumor photodynamic therapy显示文摘Riboflavin(RF,vitamin B2)is an essential vitamin and has been considered as a promising natural photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy(PDT).However,further exploration of RF in antitumor application was limited by its poor cellular uptake.In this study,using cell-penetrating peptides Arg8,(Cha-Arg)3 and small molecule triphenylphosphine(TPP)as delivery compounds,three RF conjugates were prepared to increase the accumulation of RF in cells,termed as Arg8-RF,(Cha-Arg)3-RF and TPP-RF,respectively.Compared with TPP-RF and Arg8-RF,(Cha-Arg)3-RF exhibited better cell internalization and stronger cytotoxicity against HeLa cells upon exposure to blue light.Further researches proved that(Cha-Arg)3-RF generated reactive oxygen species(ROS)under irradiation,which could indiscriminately destroy endogenous proteins and mitochondria,ultimately inducing cell death.This work provides a new approach to explore RF as a natural photosensitizer for antitumor photodynamic therapy.Chunlei Wu Yanyan Li Zhehong Cheng Pengxin Wang Zhilong Ma Ke Liu Yulian Cheng Yimin Zhou Xian Lin Ximing Shao Yong Yang Hongchang Li Lijing Fang 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,9:0
4Large magnetic entropy change in weberite-type oxides Gd_(3)MO_(7)(M=Nb,Sb,and Ta)显示文摘In the present work,the structure,magnetic properties,and cryogenic magnetocaloric effect of weberite-type oxides Gd_(3)MO_(7)(M=Nb,Sb,and Ta)are reported through powder X-ray diffraction,bulk susceptibility,and heat capacity measurements,as well as scaling law analysis and a mean-field approach.A remarkably large isothermal magnetic entropy change of 354.0 m J K^(-1)cm^(-3)is observed for Gd_(3)SbO_(7)under an external field of 9 T at 2.0 K.The relative cooling power is estimated to be 618.9 J kg^(-1)(4.8 J cm^(-3))for an applied field of 8.9 T,with the largest adiabatic temperature change being 22.4 K at 6.3 K.The magnetocaloric performance of these oxides is quite impressive when compared with the benchmark magnetic refrigerant,gadolinium gallium garnet(Gd_(3)Ga_(5)O_(12),GGG).Therefore,Gd_(3)MO_(7)(M=Nb,Sb,and Ta)are promising alternatives for cryogenic cooling techniques,especially for the magnetic liquefaction of helium.Ziyu Yang Shijun Qin Xubin Ye Zhehong Liu Yujie Guo Hongzhi Cui Jun-Yi Ge Hui Li Youwen Long Yu-Jia Zeng 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,4:0
5An Improved Prediction Model of Vortex Shedding Noise from Blades of Fans显示文摘The main source of the noise of an axial flow fan is the fluctuating pressure field on blade surfaces caused by the shedding of vortices at the trailing edge of blades.An analytical model to predict the vortex shedding noise generated at the trailing edge of blades of axial flow fans was proposed by Lee in 1993.In this model,for mathematical convenience,an idealized vortex street is considered.However,the agreement between the analytical results and the experimental data needs to be improved because of the simplification about the Karman vortex street in the wake of blade.In the present study,a modified model is proposed based on the prediction model by Lee.The boundary layer theory is used to analyze and calculate the boundary layer development on both the pressure and the suction sides of blades.Considering the effect of boundary layer separation on the location of noise source,the predicted overall sound pressure level compares favorably with the experimental data of an axial fan.In the calculation of A-weighted sound pressure level(La),considering the effect of static pressure on radiate energy,the predicted broadband noise with the modified model compares favorably with the experimental data of a multiblade centrifugal fan.DOU Huashu LI Zhehong LIN Peifeng WEI Yikun CHEN Yongning CAO Wenbin HE Haijiang 2016Journal of Thermal Science2016,25,6:0
