1The essential oil components of Cinnamomum cassia: an analysis under different thinning models of plantation Pinus massoniana显示文摘Thinning is an important activity employed in forest management. To date, studies have mainly focused on the effects of thinning on the growth of trees during the same thinning period. In this study, plantation Pinus massoniana Lamb. near maturity were thinned at varying intensities and an economically important species, Cinnamomum cassia Presl., was planted beneath the thinned canopy. The aim of the study was to explore the effects of the extent of thinning on the essential oil content and its components of C. cassia in different parts of the plant, as well as the economic feasibility of the P. massoniana–C.cassia management model. Thinning significantly reduced the oil yield in the bark and branches of C. cassia, but hardly impacted the oil yield from C. cassia leaves compared with pure C. cassia forest(CK). Among the different thinning treatments, both light(T.4) and extensive(T.1)thinning reduced the oil yield of C. cassia bark and new branches. The concentrations of the main aldehydes differed in different parts of the plant and were affected by the extent of thinning. The influence on cinnamaldehyde in the bark was minor, but was much greater in the branches and leaves. Both the oil yield and content of cinnamaldehyde showed that moderate(T.3) thinning was more favorable than other thinning models. These results not only provide a potentially promising model for the transformation of low–yield artificial pure forests of P. massoniana in the future, but also offer a reference for the management of artificial mixed stands.Dayan Tao Yuanfa Li Daodiao Lu Yehong Luo Sufang Yu Shaoming Ye 2016Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,3:5

3Metabolomics in chronic hepatitis C:Decoding fibrosis grading and underlying pathways显示文摘BACKGROUND Chronic Hepatitis C(CHC)affects 71 million people globally and leads to liver issues such as fibrosis, cirrhosis, cancer, and death.A better understanding and prognosis of liver involvement are vital to reduce morbidity and mortality. The accurate identification of the fibrosis stage is crucial for making treatment decisions and predicting outcomes.Tests used to grade fibrosis include histological analysis and imaging but have limitations.Blood markers such as molecular biomarkers can offer valuable insights into fibrosis.AIM To identify potential biomarkers that might stratify these lesions and add information about the molecular mechanisms involved in the disease.METHODS Plasma samples were collected from 46 patients with hepatitis C and classified into fibrosis grades F1(n=13),F2(n=12),F3(n=6),and F4(n=15).To ensure that the identified biomarkers were exclusive to liver lesions(CHC fibrosis),healthy volunteer participants(n=50)were also included. An untargeted metabolomic technique was used to analyze the plasma metabolites using mass spectrometry and database verification.Statistical analyses were performed to identify differential biomarkers among groups.RESULTS Six differential metabolites were identified in each grade of fibrosis. This six-metabolite profile was able to establish a clustering tendency in patients with the same grade of fibrosis;thus, they showed greater efficiency in discriminating grades.CONCLUSION This study suggests that some of the observed biomarkers, once validated, have the potential to be applied as prognostic biomarkers.Furthermore,it suggests that liquid biopsy analyses of plasma metabolites are a good source of molecular biomarkers capable of stratifying patients with CHC according to fibrosis grade.Adriana Camargo Ferrasi Samara Vitória Granja Lima Aline Faria Galvani Jeany Delafiori Flavia Luísa Dias-Audibert Rodrigo Ramos Catharino Giovanni Faria Silva Roberta Rodrigues Praxedes Driele Bretones Santos Dayane Trevisan de Macedo Almeida Estela Oliveira Lima 2023World Journal of Hepatology2023,15,11:1

7PEG-rhG-CSF Use Reduces Glucose Level Significantly in Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy Short title:Hypoglycemia secondary to PEG-rhG-CSF use显示文摘Background:In patients receiving anticancer chemotherapy, polyethylene glycolated recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor(PEG-rhG-CSF)was used for prophylaxis of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. However, the side effect of PEG-rhG-CSF use on fasting blood glucose(FBG)level remains unclear.Materials and Methods:Cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and PEG-rhG-CSF were enrolled in our study.Baseline glucose(Glucose 1)was measured before PEG-rhG-CSF use,a second FBG test(Glucose 2)was performed after PEG-rhG-CSF use.Mean glucose levels were compared using t test. Results:The time interval between PEG-rhG-CSF use and the second glucose test was 2.4±1.5 days. The mean Glucose 1 was 5.18±0.53 mmol/L,and Glucose 2 was 3.80±1.13 mmol/L.Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between Glucose 1 and 2 existed(P<0.001).Conclusion:Our study identifies a hypoglycemic side effect of PEG-rhG-CSF occurs in cancer patients undergoing anti-cancer chemotherapy. Our results highlight the caution required when using PEG-rhG-CSF for prophylaxis of chemotherapyinduced neutropenia.Shasha Cui Xinqiang Liu Dayan Zhang Lu Zhang Ying Wang 2020Proceedings of Anticancer Research2020,4,6:0
