| 1 | Estimating aboveground biomass of Pinus densata-dominated forests using Landsat time series and permanent sample plot data显示文摘Southwest China is one of three major forest regions in China and plays an important role in carbon sequestration.Accurate estimations of changes in aboveground biomass are critical for understanding forest carbon cycling and promoting climate change mitigation.Southwest China is characterized by complex topographic features and forest canopy structures,complicating methods for mapping aboveground biomass and its dynamics.The integration of continuous Landsat images and national forest inventory data provides an alternative approach to develop a long-term monitoring program of forest aboveground biomass dynamics.This study explores the development of a methodological framework using historical national forest inventory plot data and Landsat TM timeseries images.This method was formulated by comparing two parametric methods:Linear Regression for Multiple Independent Variables(MLR),and Partial Least Square Regression(PLSR);and two nonparametric methods:Random Forest(RF)and Gradient Boost Regression Tree(GBRT)based on the state of forest aboveground biomass and change models.The methodological framework mapped Pinus densata aboveground biomass and its changes over time in Shangri-la,Yunnan,China.Landsat images and national forest inventory data were acquired for 1987,1992,1997,2002 and 2007.The results show that:(1)correlation and homogeneity texture measures were able to characterize forest canopy structures,aboveground biomass and its dynamics;(2)GBRT and RF predicted Pinus densata aboveground biomass and its changes better than PLSR and MLR;(3)GBRT was the most reliable approach in the estimation of aboveground biomass and its changes;and,(4)the aboveground biomass change models showed a promising improvement of prediction accuracy.This study indicates that the combination of GBRT state and change models developed using temporal Landsat and national forest inventory data provides the potential for developing a methodological framework for the long-term mapping and monitoring program of forest aboveground biomass and its changes in Southwest China. | Jialong Zhang Chi Lu Hui Xu Guangxing Wang | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,5: | 6 |
| 2 | The SOC1-like gene BoMADS50 is associated with the flowering of Bambusa oldhamii显示文摘Bamboo is known for its edible shoots and beautiful texture and has considerable economic and ornamental value.Unique among traditional flowering plants,many bamboo plants undergo extensive synchronized flowering followed by large-scale death,seriously affecting the productivity and application of bamboo forests.To date,the molecular mechanism of bamboo flowering characteristics has remained unknown.In this study,a SUPPRESSOR OF OVEREXPRESSION OF CONSTANS1(SOC1)-like gene,BoMADS50,was identified from Bambusa oldhamii.BoMADS50 was highly expressed in mature leaves and the floral primordium formation period during B.oldhamii flowering and overexpression of BoMADS50 caused early fl owering in transgenic rice.Moreover,BoMADS50 could interact with APETALA1/FRUITFULL(AP1/FUL)-like proteins(BoMADS 14-1/2,BoMADS15-1/2)in vivo,and the expression of BoMADS50 was signi ficantly promoted by BoMADS14-1,further indicating a synergistic effect between BoMADS50 and BoAP1/FUL-like proteins in regulating B.oldhamii flowering.We also identi fi ed four additional transcripts of BoMADS50(BoMADS50-1/2/3/4)with different nucleotide variations.Although the protein-CDS were polymorphic,they had flowering activation functions similar to those of BoMADS50.Yeast one-hybrid and transient expression assays subsequently showed that both BoMADS50 and BoMADS50-1 bind to the promoter fragment of itself and the SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE(SVP)-like gene BoSVP,but only BoMADS50-1 can positively induce their transcription.Therefore,nucleotide variations likely endow BoMADS50-1 with strong regulatory activity.Thus,BoMADS50 and BoMADS50-1/2/3/4 are probably important positive flowering regulators in B.oldhamii.Moreover,the functional conservatism and speci ficity of BoMADS50 and BoMADS50-1 might be related to the synchronized and sporadic flowering characteristics of B.oldhamii. | Dan Hou Ling Li Tengfei Ma Jialong Pei Zhongyu Zhao Mengzhu Lu Aimin Wu Xinchun Lin | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 4 |
| 3 | Effect of Phosphate on Zinc Transport in Lou Soil显示文摘A study on the transport characteristics of zinc in lou soil with phosphate at different concentrations was carried out by the method of step input. The effects of phosphate and temperature on zinc transport were studied through analysing the diffusion-dispersion coefficients (D) and the retardation factor (R) obtained by the program CXTFIT. The results showed that D decreased and R increased with increasing concentration of phosphate so that it was difficult for zinc to break through the soil column, and zinc stopped to break through the column at high temperature. One order equation, double constant equation and the Elovich equation were all suitable for the description of zinc dynamica. | 6 | Identification and characterization of novel fusion genes in prostate cancer by targeted RNA capture and next-generation sequencing显示文摘Gene fusions play critical roles in the development and progression of prostate cancer,and have been used as molecular biomarkers for diagnosis of the malignant disease.To further explore the novel fusions in prostate cancer,we performed targeted RNA capture and next-generation sequencing in a cohort of 52 prostate cancer patients,identified and validated 14 fusion events (7 types of fusion genes)in 12 cases,including three novel fusion genes.We characterized a chromosome rearrangement-induced trigenic KLK2-DGKB-ETV1 fusion,which may function as a noncoding RNA to upregulate the expression of the wild-type ETV1 protein in the tumor tissue. | 8 | Mapping of de novo mutations in primary biliary cholangitis to a disease-specific co-expression network underlying homeostasis and metabolism显示文摘Primary biliary cholangitis(PBC) is an autoimmune disease involving dysregulation of a broad array of homeostatic and metabolic processes. Although considerable single-nucleotide polymorphisms have been unveiled, a large fraction of risk factors remains enigmatic. Candidate genes with rare mutations that tend to confer more deleterious effects need to be identified. To help pinpoint cellular and developmental mechanisms beyond common noncoding variants, we integrate whole exome sequencing with integrative network analysis to investigate genes harboring de novo mutations. Prominent convergence has been revealed on a network of disease-specific co-expression comprised of 55 genes associated with homeostasis and metabolism. The transcription factor gene MEF2 D and the DNA repair gene PARP2 are highlighted as hub genes and identified to be up-and down-regulated, respectively, in peripheral blood data set. Enrichment analysis demonstrates that altered expression of MEF2 D and PARP2 may trigger a series of molecular and cellular processes with pivotal roles in PBC pathophysiology. | 9 | Autocatalytic reduction-assisted synthesis of segmented porous PtTe nanochains for enhancing methanol oxidation reaction显示文摘Morphology engineering has been developed as one of the most widely used strategies for improving the performance of electrocatalysts.However,the harsh reaction conditions and cumbersome reaction steps during the nanomaterials synthesis still limit their industrial applications.Herein,one-dimensional(1D)novel-segmented PtTe porous nanochains(PNCs)were successfully synthesized by the template methods assisted by Pt autocatalytic reduction.The PtTe PNCs consist of consecutive mesoporous architectures that provide a large electrochemical surface area(ECSA)and abundant active sites to enhance methanol oxidation reaction(MOR).Furthermore,1D nanostructure as a robust sustaining frame can maintain a high mass/charge transfer rate in a long-term durability test.After 2,000 cyclic voltammetry(CV)cycles,the ECSA value of PtTe PNCs remained as high as 44.47 m^(2)·gPt^(-1),which was much larger than that of commercial Pt/C(3.95 m^(2)·gPt^(-1)).The high catalytic activity and durability of PtTe PNCs are also supported by CO stripping test and density functional theory calculation.This autocatalytic reduction-assisted synthesis provides new insights for designing efficient low-dimensional nanocatalysts. | Qiqi Zhang Tianyu Xia He Huang Jialong Liu Mengyuan Zhu Hao Yu Weifeng Xu Yuping Huo Congli He Shipeng Shen Cong Lu Rongming Wang Shouguo Wang | 2023 | Nano Research Energy2023,2,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Response of soil microorganisms to vegetational succession in Ziwuling Forest显示文摘This study investigates the changes in soil microbial populations as vegetational succession progress from abandoned farmland to climax forest in the Ziwuling Forest,which is located in the northern part of the Loess Plateau,China.Different organic C and total extractable N between the fumigated and non-fumigated soils were assumed to be released from soil microorganisms.Soil microbial C was calculated using Kec=0.38 and microbial N was calculated using Ken=0.45.The released P was converted to microbial biomass P using Kep=0.40.Soil bacteria,fungi,and actinomycetes increased as the vegetational succession progressed.Microbial C was of the highest amount in farmland.Microbial C,N,and P generally increased from abandoned land to climax community.The results indicated significant(P<0.05)diversities of soil microbial biomass under different vegetation.There was a significant correlation between microbial biomass and soil nutrients.Knowledge about soil microbial populations is important for forecasting vegetational succession and determining the ecological condition of the environment. | Hong ZHANG Jialong LU Shiwei ZHAO | 2009 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2009,3,4: | 0 |
