1Mitochondrial Oxidative Stress Enhances Vasoconstriction by Altering Calcium Homeostasis in Cerebrovascular Smooth Muscle Cells under Simulated Microgravity显示文摘Objective Exposure to microgravity results in postflight cardiovascular deconditioning in astronauts.Vascular oxidative stress injury and mitochondrial dysfunction have been reported during this process.To elucidate the mechanism for this condition,we investigated whether mitochondrial oxidative stress regulates calcium homeostasis and vasoconstriction in hindlimb unweighted(HU)rat cerebral arteries.Methods Three-week HU was used to simulate microgravity in rats.The contractile responses to vasoconstrictors,mitochondrial fission/fusion,Ca^(2+) distribution,inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor(IP3 R)abundance,and the activities of voltage-gated K+channels(KV)and Ca^(2+)-activated K+channels(BKCa)were examined in rat cerebral vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs).Results An increase of cytoplasmic Ca^(2+) and a decrease of mitochondrial/sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR)Ca^(2+) were observed in HU rat cerebral VSMCs.The abundance of fusion proteins(mitofusin 1/2[MFN1/2])and fission proteins(dynamin-related protein 1[DRP1]and fission-mitochondrial 1[FIS1])was significantly downregulated and upregulated,respectively in HU rat cerebral VSMCs.The cerebrovascular contractile responses to vasoconstrictors were enhanced in HU rats compared to control rats,and IP3 R protein/mRNA levels were significantly upregulated.The current densities and open probabilities of KV and BKCa decreased and increased,respectively.Treatment with the mitochondrial-targeted antioxidant mitoTEMPO attenuated mitochondrial fission by upregulating MFN1/2 and downregulating DRP1/FIS1.It also decreased IP3 R expression levels and restored the activities of the KV and BKCa channels.MitoTEMPO restored the Ca^(2+) distribution in VSMCs and attenuated the enhanced vasoconstriction in HU rat cerebral arteries.Conclusion The present results suggest that mitochondrial oxidative stress enhances cerebral vasoconstriction by regulating calcium homeostasis during simulated microgravity.LIU Zi Fan WANG Hai Ming JIANG Min WANG Lin LIN Le Jian ZHAO Yun Zhang SHAO Jun Jie ZHOU Jing Jing XIE Man Jiang LI Xin ZHANG Ran 2021Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,3:3

10Laser tracking leader-follower automatic cooperative navigation system for UAVs显示文摘Currently,small payload and short endurance are the main problems of a single UAV in agricultural applications,especially in large-scale farmland.It is one of the important methods to solve the above problems of UAVs by improving operation efficiency through multi-UAV cooperative navigation.This study proposed a laser tracking leader-follower automatic cooperative navigation system for multi-UAVs.The leader in the cluster fires a laser beam to irradiate the follower,and the follower performs a visual tracking flight according to the light spot at the relative position of the laser tracking device.Based on the existing kernel correlation filter(KCF)tracking algorithm,an improved KCF real-time spot tracking method was proposed.Compared with the traditional KCF tracking algorithm,the recognition and tracking rate of the optimized algorithm was increased from 70%to 95%in indoor environment,and was increased from 20%to 90%in outdoor environment.The navigation control method was studied from two aspects:the distance coordinate transformation model based on micro-gyroscope and navigation control strategy.The error of spot position was reduced from the maximum(3.12,−3.66)cm to(0.14,0.12)cm by correcting the deviation distance of the spot at different angles through a coordinate correction algorithm.An image coordinate conversion model was established for a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)camera and laser receiving device at different mounting distances.The laser receiving device was divided into four regions,S0-S3,and the speed of the four regions is calculated using an uncontrollable discrete Kalman filter.The outdoor flight experiments of two UAVs were carried out outdoors using this system.The experiment results show that the average flight error of the two UAVs on the X-axis is 5.2 cm,and the coefficient of variation is 0.0181.The average flight error on the Z-axis is 7.3 cm,and the coefficient of variation is 0.0414.This study demonstrated the possibility and adaptability of the developed system to achieve multi-UAVs cooperative navigation.Rui Ming Zhiyan Zhou Zichen Lyu Xiwen Luo Le Zi Cancan Song Yu Zang Wei Liu Rui Jiang 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,2:0
11A Chromosome-level Reference Genome of African Oil Palm Provides Insights into Its Divergence and Stress Adaptation显示文摘The palm family(Arecaceae),consisting of2600 species,is the third most economically important family of plants.The African oil palm(Elaeis guineensis)is one of the most important palms.However,the genome sequences of palms that are currently available are still limited and fragmented.Here,we report a high-quality chromosome-level reference genome of an oil palm,Dura,assembled by integrating long reads with150 genome coverage.The assembled genome was 1.7 Gb in size,covering 94.5%of the estimated genome,of which 91.6%was assigned into 16 pseudochromosomes and 73.7%was repetitive sequences.Relying on the conserved synteny with oil palm,the existing draft genome sequences of both date palm and coconut were further assembled into chromosomal level.Transposon burst,particularly long terminal repeat retrotransposons,following the last whole-genome duplication,likely explains the genome size variation across palms.Sequence analysis of the VIRESCENS gene in palms suggests that DNA variations in this gene are related to fruit colors.Recent duplications of highly tandemly repeated pathogenesis-related proteins from the same tandem arrays play an important role in defense responses to Ganoderma.Whole-genome resequencing of both ancestral African and introduced oil palms in Southeast Asia reveals that genes under putative selection are notably associated with stress responses,suggesting adaptation to stresses in the new habitat.The genomic resources and insights gained in this study could be exploited for accelerating genetic improvement and understanding the evolution of palms.Le Wang May Lee Zi Yi Wan Bin Bai Baoqing Ye Yuzer Alfiko Rahmadsyah Rahmadsyah Sigit Purwantomo Zhuojun Song Antonius Suwanto Gen Hua Yue 2023Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,3:0
12Identification of Dual Receptor-binding Specific Strains of Human H5N1 Viruses in China显示文摘Objective Both the 2,6 linkage and its topology on target cells are critical for the recognition by human influenza virus.The binding preference of avian flu virus H5N1 HA to the 2,3-linked sialylated glycans is considered the major factor limiting its efficient infection and transmission in humans.To monitor potential adaptation of H5N1 virus in human population,the surveillance of receptor-binding specificity was undertaken in China.Methods The binding specificity of 32 human H5N1 virus strains isolated from 2003 to 2009 was tested by 2,3-specific sialidase-treated chicken red blood cell (CRBC) agglutination assay and a solid-phase direct binding assay with synthetic sialylglycopolymers.Results Dual binding preference to 2,3 and 2,6-glycans were found in two strains:A/Guangdong/1/06 (A/GD/1/06) and A/Guangxi/1/08 (A/GX/1/08).Thoughminor effect of short-2,6-binding was detected in A/GX/1/08 at a low virus titer,both showed high affinity to the oligosaccharide at a high load.Notably both are of the long-2,6-recognition,with the same topology as that of human H1N1 and H3N2 viruses.Conclusion The findings suggest that human H5N1 virus in China likely acquired the potential human-adaptation ability.Further research and surveillance on receptor-binding specificity of H5N1 viruses are required.ZHOU Jian Fang ZOU Shu Mei LI Zi WANG Min DONG Jie GUO Jun Feng WEI He Jiang WEN Le Ying XU Hong SHU Yue Long 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:0

14Mathematical model for predicting fungal growth and decomposition rates based on improved Logistic equations显示文摘As the function of the decomposition of fungi has been clearly researched in the global carbon cycle,it is obviously of value to explore the decomposition rate of fungal populations.This study analyzed the relationship between environmental factors and biodiversity step by step.In order to explore the interaction between the fungi and the relationship between the decomposition rate of fungi with time,the model based on the Logistic model was built and the Lotka-Volterra model was employed in the condition of two kinds of fungi existing in an environment with limited resources.The changing trend of population number and decomposition rate of several fungi under different environmental conditions can be predicted through the model.To illustrate the applicability of the model,Laetiporus conifericola and Hyphoderma setigerum were applied as examples.The results showed that the higher the degree of population diversity,the greater the decomposition rate,and the higher the decomposition efficiency of the ecosystem.Its rich species diversity is conducive to accelerating the decomposition of litter,lignocellulose,and the circulation of the entire ecosystem.Based on the above model and using the data from measuring the mycelial elongation rate of each isolate at 10℃,16℃,and 22℃ under standardized laboratory conditions,the growth patterns of the five fungi combinations were simulated.The results revealed a general increase in growth rate with increasing temperature,which verifies the accuracy of the model.Moreover,it also revealed that the total decomposition rate after fungal incorporation was negatively correlated with the decomposition rate of a fungal single action.Based on the above model,predictions can be made for fungal growth in different environments,and suitable environments for fungal growth can be determined.In the future,the model can be further optimized,and lignin and cellulose decomposition factors can be added to fit the decomposition of logs.The application scenarios of the model can be further broadened,which can contribute to the restoration and management of the ecological environment,as well as produce good effects in the fields of fungi assisting the global carbon cycle and soil problem restoration.Jiayong Pan Wenxin Le Zi’ao Wang Jian Chen 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,1:0
15Optimization of aviation adjuvants based on wettability analysis for insecticide application on maize using UAV显示文摘Adjuvants can increase the control efficacy of diseases and insect pests by changing the physico-chemical properties of pesticides.Most of the aviation spray adjuvants are versions of ground adjuvants.Maize insecticide sprays with unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV),have problems such as relatively low droplet deposition rate and poor wettability.Hence,wettability research and optimization tests for aviation spray adjuvants are needed.The present study screened 12 spray adjuvants using physico-chemical property experiments.The adjuvants were applied to improve the droplet deposition and control efficacy in maize borers controlling by UAV.The selected spray adjuvants were Po2(a hyperbranched polymer adjuvant)and VO3(a vegetable oil adjuvant).Results showed that,(1)When Po2 was added in water-dispersible granules(WGs)at volume rate of 12 L/hm2,the dynamic surface tension(DST)of WGs was decreased by 37.41%,and the maize leaves were covered by droplets 100%,the droplet deposition was increased by 104%and maize borer control was increased by 46%;(2)VO3 decreased the surface tension of ultra-low-volume(ULV)formulation by 12.02%and the maize leaves were covered by droplets 100%.The effect of VO3 on improving the droplet deposition and control efficacy at 12 L/hm2 with ULV was not significant.Thus,the addition of aviation spray adjuvant to improve the wettability of WGs significantly improved the droplet deposition and control efficacy but it had no significant effect on the ULV formulation.Yu Zang Zhiyan Zhou Ying Zang Xiwen Luo Juan Liao Rui Ming Cancan Song Le Zi Rui Jiang Hanxiang Xiao 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,5:0
