1Developing the Science Product Algorithm Testbed for Chinese Next-Generation Geostationary Meteorological Satellites:Fengyun-4 Series显示文摘Fengyun-4A(FY-4A), the first of the Chinese next-generation geostationary meteorological satellites, launched in2016, offers several advances over the FY-2: more spectral bands, faster imaging, and infrared hyperspectral measurements. To support the major objective of developing the prototypes of FY-4 science algorithms, two science product algorithm testbeds for imagers and sounders have been developed by the scientists in the FY-4 Algorithm Working Group(AWG). Both testbeds, written in FORTRAN and C programming languages for Linux or UNIX systems, have been tested successfully by using Intel/g compilers. Some important FY-4 science products, including cloud mask, cloud properties, and temperature profiles, have been retrieved successfully through using a proxy imager, Himawari-8/Advanced Himawari Imager(AHI), and sounder data, obtained from the Atmospheric Infra Red Sounder, thus demonstrating their robustness. 8Fabrication of UV responsive micelles-containing multilayers and their influence on cell adhesion显示文摘Multilayers incorporated with stimuli-responsive substances by means of layer-by-layer(LbL) self-assembly are much attractive due to their advantages of stimuli-responsiveness and potential applications in different fields. In this study, pyrenemethyl acrylate(PA) was synthesized, and was copolymerized with acrylic acid(AA) to obtain the amphiphilic and photodegradable P(PA-co-AA)polymers with a PA:AA molar ratio of 1.3:3, and an average molecular weight of 6.9 kDa and polydispersity index of 1.04. They formed micelles spontaneously when dispersed in aqueous solution with a size of 27.5 nm in a dry state and 136.6 nm in a wet state. The micelles were readily decomposed to form aggregates as a result of the cleavage of the pyrenemethyl ester bonds under UV-irradiation. UV-responsive micelles-containing multilayers were prepared by LbL self-assembly of the UV-responsive micelles and polyallylamine hydrochloride(PAH). UV-irradiation of the multilayers resulted in the decomposition of micelles, leading to larger surface roughness, and enhanced swelling ratio and wettability of the multilayers. In vitro culture of A549, HepG2 and endothelial cells showed significantly better adhesion at 4 h on the UV-illuminated multilayers, whereas the cell proliferation was not affected significantly until 5 d.Haolan Zhang Danyu Wang Xue Lin Nikolaos Politakos Jimena S. 9Editorial foreword显示文摘Statistical Theory and Related Fields is now in its thirdyear of publication. The first article in this first issue of2019 is a discussion paper by professors Bayarri, Berger,Jang, Ray, Pericchi, and Visser with the exciting topicon prior-based Bayesian information criterion for variable selection. Variable selection is a key componentfor dimension reduction in modern statistical applications in the big data era. Both Bayesian and frequentistapproaches have shown their potentials in handlingvariable selection in the past two decades, but bothface various challenges. This article shows a pioneering idea of adding the prior into the penalty term forvariable selection and having different effective sample sizes for different model parameters. The article isfollowed by a total of nine discussions written by wellknown researchers in the area of variable selection, eachof them exhibits some interesting research topics assummarised in the authors’ rejoinder.
