1Biochar pyrolyzed at low temperature enhanced acidophilous plant growth by promoting rhizospheric microbes in a slightly alkaline urban soil显示文摘Biochar has been considered as a potential way to enhance acidophilous plant growth in alkaline soils.However,whether such enhancements are closely linked with biochar pyrolysis temperature and its improvements in rhizospheric soil fertility and microbial activities remains largely unknown.We performed a pot experiment to investigate changes in azalea(Rhodo-dendron)morphology and physiology,as well as its rhizosphere soil chemical and biological properties in a slightly alkaline urban soil under the amendment of biochars that pyrolyzed at three temperatures(i.e.,350,550 and 700°C).Our results showed that the effects of biochars on plant growth and soil properties depended on pyrolysis temperature.In comparison with the non-amended control,350 and 550°C biochars showed significant promotions on the azalea growth in terms of photosynthetic characteristics,biomass,root morphology,and N and P uptake.Whereas,700°C biochar showed an inhibi-tion effect on them.350°C biochar decreased soil pH and increased soil available P and K contents and the activities ofα-glucosidase,N-β-glucosaminidase,phosphatase and sulfatase.In addition,350°C biochar significantly enhanced bacterial 16S rRNA and fungal 18S rRNA gene abundances in the rhizosphere soil of azalea and mycorrhizal infection.Correlation analysis indicated that soil pH,available nutrients and fungal abundance had positive associations with the enhanced plant growth parameters.Therefore,our findings suggest that biochar produced at low temperature could be a feasible strategy for enhancing acidophilous azalea growth and improving urban soil quality.Huimin Zhou Xiaoying Li Chang Li Lisi He Xiaoqing Liu Zheng Xiao Xiaobo Sun Gaoling Shi Jiale Su Junhui Chen 2021Biochar2021,3,4:1

3Raltitrexed as a synergistic hyperthermia chemotherapy drug screened in patient-derived colorectal cancer organoids显示文摘Objective:Organoids have recently been used as in vitro models to screen chemotherapy drugs in combination with hyperthermia treatment in colorectal cancer.Our research aimed to establish a library of patient-derived colorectal cancer organoids to evaluate synergism between chemotherapy drugs and hyperthermia;validate an index of the hyperthermia chemotherapy sensitization enhancement ratio(HCSER)to identify the chemotherapeutics most enhanced by hyperthermia;and recommend chemotherapy drugs for hyperthermic intraperitoneal treatment.Methods:Organoids were grown from cells extracted from colorectal cancer patient samples or colorectal cancer cell lines.Cells from both sources were encapsulated in 3 D Matrigel droplets,which were formulated in microfluidics and phase-transferred into identical cell-laden Matrigel microspheres.The microspheres were seeded in 96-well plates,with each well containing a single microsphere that developed into an organoid after 7 days.The organoids were used to evaluate the efficacy of chemotherapy drugs at both 37℃ as a control and 43℃ for 90 min to examine hyperthermia synergism.Cell viability was counted with 10%CCK8.Results:We successfully established a library of colorectal cancer organoids from 22 patient parental tumors.We examined the hyperthermia synergism of 7 commonly used hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy drugs.In 11 of the 22 patient organoids,raltitrexed had significant hyperthermia synergism,which was indexed as the highest HCSER score within each patient group.Conclusions:Our results primarily demonstrated the use of patient-derived colorectal cancer organoids as in vitro models to evaluate hyperthermia synergistic chemotherapeutics.We found that hyperthermia enhanced the effect of raltitrexed the most among the common anti-colorectal cancer drugs.Lisi Zeng Quanxing Liao Haoran Zhao Shengwei Jiang Xianzi Yang Hongsheng Tang Qingjun He Xiansheng Yang Shuxian Fang Jinfu He Weiwen Cui Laiqiang Huang Shaohua Ma Shuzhong Cui 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3:0
4Value of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio,N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide,urea,and creatinine for the prediction of acute kidney injury in acute heart failure:a retrospective observational study显示文摘Objective:Early identification of acute kidney injury(AKI)is essential to improve the prognosis of patients with acute heart failure(AHF).We aimed to determine the utility of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR),N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP),urea,and creatinine(Cr),as well as combinations of these,for the prediction of AKI in patients with AHF.Methods:A total of 153 patients with AHF under the care of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital,Sun Yat-sen University from October 2009 to October 2019 were included in this retrospective observational study.Their NLR,NT-proBNP,urea,and Cr concentrations were measured on admission.AKI was defined using the Acute Kidney Injury Network criteria.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves,the areas under the curves(AUCs),sensitivity,and specificity were employed to evaluate the ability of each biomarker and their combinations to identify AKI.This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital,Sun Yat-sen University(approval No.SYSEC-KY-KS-2021-126)on June 22,2021.Results:Forty-six(30.1%)participants developed AKI during hospitalization.The NLR and NT-proBNP of the participants with AKI were higher than those without(NLR:median 7.886 vs 4.717,P<0.0001;NT-proBNP,median 6774 vs 2786pg/mL,P<0.0001).ROC analyses demonstrated that high NLR and NT-proBNP were associated with higher incidences of AKI(NLR:cut-off 5.681,AUC 0.716,sensitivity 58.9%,specificity 80.4%;NT-proBNP:cut-off 5320pg/mL,AUC 0.700,sensitivity 72.9%,specificity 65.2%).Moreover,a combination of NLR,NT-proBNP,urea,and Cr yielded an AUC of 0.815,sensitivity 80.4%,and specificity of 74.8%.In addition,the AUCs for the prediction of AKI in the participants with New York Heart Association(NYHA)classes II,III,and IV were 0.936,0.860,and 0.772,respectively,using this combination.Conclusion:A combination of NLR,NT-proBNP,urea,and Cr,measured at admission,may represent a promising tool for the prediction of AKI in patients with AHF.This method performs best for AKI risk assessment in patients with NYHA II,followed by those with NYHA III or IV.Lisi Huang Jian He Xianghua Lin Ling Luo Rihui Zhong Xiaoying Xie Xiaodan Peng Chaohui Duan 2021Journal of Bio-X Research2021,4,4:0
5Comparative metagenomic analysis of the vaginal microbiome in healthy women显示文摘The composition of these vaginal microbiome has a significant impact on women’s health.However,few studies have characterized the vaginal microbiome of healthy Chinese women using metagenomic sequencing.Here,we carried out a comparative metagenomic analysis to survey taxonomic,functional levels,and microbial communities’genome content in healthy women’s vaginal microbiome.Overall,we observed a total of 111 species,including all dominant vaginal Lactobacillus species,such as L.iners,L.crispatus,L.gasseri,and L.jensenii.Unlike microbial taxa,several pathways were ubiquitous and prevalent across individuals,including adenosine ribonucleotides de novo biosynthesis and pyruvate fermentation to acetate and lactate Ⅱ.Notably,our diversity analysis confirmed a significant difference in healthy women from different ethnic groups.Moreover,we binned vaginal assemblies into 62 high-quality genomes,including 9 L.iners,7 A.vaginae,5 L.jensenii,and 5 L.crispatus.We identified the pan and core genomes of L.iners and A.vaginae and revealed the genetic diversity.Primary differences between strains were the hypothetical genes and mobile element-like genes.Our results provide a framework for understanding the implications of the female reproductive tract’s composition and functional potential and highlight the importance of genome-resolved metagenomic analysis to further understand the human vaginal microbiome.Fei Liu Yingshun Zhou Lisi Zhu Zhiyi Wang LiangKun Ma Yuan He Pengcheng Fu 2021Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,2:0
6Recommendation Method for Contrastive Enhancement of Neighborhood Information显示文摘Knowledge graph can assist in improving recommendation performance and is widely applied in various person-alized recommendation domains.However,existing knowledge-aware recommendation methods face challenges such as weak user-item interaction supervisory signals and noise in the knowledge graph.To tackle these issues,this paper proposes a neighbor information contrast-enhanced recommendation method by adding subtle noise to construct contrast views and employing contrastive learning to strengthen supervisory signals and reduce knowledge noise.Specifically,first,this paper adopts heterogeneous propagation and knowledge-aware attention networks to obtain multi-order neighbor embedding of users and items,mining the high-order neighbor informa-tion of users and items.Next,in the neighbor information,this paper introduces weak noise following a uniform distribution to construct neighbor contrast views,effectively reducing the time overhead of view construction.This paper then performs contrastive learning between neighbor views to promote the uniformity of view information,adjusting the neighbor structure,and achieving the goal of reducing the knowledge noise in the knowledge graph.Finally,this paper introduces multi-task learning to mitigate the problem of weak supervisory signals.To validate the effectiveness of our method,experiments are conducted on theMovieLens-1M,MovieLens-20M,Book-Crossing,and Last-FM datasets.The results showthat compared to the best baselines,our method shows significant improvements in AUC and F1.Hairong Wang Beijing Zhou Lisi Zhang He Ma 2024Computers, Materials & Continua2024,78,1:0
7Structure and magnetic properties of the S=3/2 zigzag spin chain antiferromagnet BaCoTe_(2)O_(7)显示文摘We report a study of the structure and magnetic properties of the S=3/2 zigzag spin chain compound BaCoTe_(2)O_(7).Neutron diffraction measurements show that it crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric space group Ama2 with a canted↑↑↓↓spin structure along the quasi-one-dimensional zigzag chain and a moment size of 1.89(2)μBat 2 K.Both magnetic susceptibility and specific heat measurements yield an antiferromagnetic phase transition at TN=6.2 K.A negative Curie-Weiss temperature,ΘCW=-74.7(2) K,and an empirical frustration parameter,f=|ΘCW|/TN≈12,are obtained by fitting the magnetic susceptibility,indicating antiferromagnetic interactions and strong magnetic frustration.From ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy and first-principles calculations,an indirect band gap of 2.68(2) eV is determined.We propose that the canted zigzag spin chain of BaCoTe_(2)O_(7) may produce a change in the polarization via the exchange-striction mechanism.Lisi Li Xunwu Hu Zengjia Liu Jia Yu Benyuan Cheng Sihao Deng Lunhua He Kun Cao Dao-Xin Yao Meng Wang 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,8:0
