| 1 | Antiviral adsorption activity of porous silicon nanoparticles against different pathogenic human viruses显示文摘New viral infections,due to their rapid spread,lack of effective antiviral drugs and vaccines,kill millions of people every year.The global pandemic SARS-CoV-2 in 2019-2021 has shown that new strains of viruses can widespread very quickly,causing disease and death,with significant socio-economic consequences.Therefore,the search for new methods of combating different pathogenic viruses is an urgent task,and strategies based on nanoparticles are of significant interest.This work demonstrates the antiviral adsorption(virucidal)efficacy of nanoparticles of porous silicon(PSi NPs)against various enveloped and non-enveloped pathogenic human viruses,such as Influenza A virus,Poliovirus,Human immunodeficiency virus,West Nile virus,and Hepatitis virus.PSi NPs sized 60 nm with the average pore diameter of 2 nm and specific surface area of 200 m^(2)/g were obtained by ball-milling of electrochemically-etched microporous silicon films.After interaction with PSi NPs,a strong suppression of the infectious activity of the virus-contaminated fluid was observed,which was manifested in a decrease in the infectious titer of all studied types of viruses by approximately 104 times,and corresponded to an inactivation of 99.99%viruses in vitro.This sorption capacity of PSi NPs is possible due to their microporous structure and huge specific surface area,which ensures efficient capture of virions,as confirmed by ELISA analysis,dynamic light scattering measurements and transmission electron microscopy images.The results obtained indicate the great potential of using PSi NPs as universal viral sorbents and disinfectants for the detection and treatment of viral diseases. | Liubov A.Osminkina Svetlana N.Agafilushkina Ekaterina A.Kropotkina Nikolay Yu Saushkin Ivan V.Bozhev Sergei S.Abramchuk Jeanne V.Samsonova Alexandra S.Gambaryan | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,1: | 1 |

| 7 | Hole-doping of mechanically exfoliated graphene by confined hydration layers显示文摘By the use of non-contact atomic force microscopy (NC-AFM) and Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM), we measure the local surface potential of mechanically exfoliated graphene on the prototypical insulating hydrophilic substrate of CAF2(111). Hydration layers confined between the graphene and the CaF2 substrate, resulting from the graphene's preparation under ambient conditions on the hydrophilic substrate surface, are found to electronically modify the graphene as the material's electron density transfers from graphene to the hydration layer. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations predict that the first 2 to 3 water layers adjacent to the graphene hole-dope the graphene by several percent of a unit charge per unit cell. | Tjeerd R. | 14 | Magnetic force microscopy of an operational spin nano-oscillator显示文摘Magnetic force microscopy(MFM)is a powerful technique for studying magnetic microstructures and nanostructures that relies on force detection by a cantilever with a magnetic tip.The detected magnetic tip interactions are used to reconstruct the magnetic structure of the sample surface.Here,we demonstrate a new method using MFM for probing the spatial profle of an operational nanoscale spintronic device,the spin Hall nano-osillator(SHNO),which generates high-intensity spin wave auto-osillations enabling novel microwave applications in magnonics and neuromorphic computing.We developed an MFM system by adding a microwave probe station to allow electrical and microwave characterization up to 40 GHz during the MFM process.SHNOs-based on NiFe/Pt bilayers with a specific design compatible with the developed system-were fabricated and scanned using a Co magnetic force microscopy tip with 10 nm spatial MFM resolution,while a DC current sufficient to induce auto-oscillation flowed.Our results show that this developed method provides a promising path for the characterization and nanoscale magnetic field imaging of operational nano-osilators. | Seyed Amir Hossein Banuazizi Afshin Houshang Ahmad A Awad Javad Mohammadi Johan Akerman Liubov M.Belova | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,3: | 0 |
| 15 | Using Bayesian multitemporal classification to monitor tropical forest cover changes in Kalimantan,Indonesia显示文摘Significant areas of native forest in Kalimantan,on the island of Borneo,have been cleared for the expansion of plantations of oil palm and rubber.In this study multisource remote sensing was used to develop a time series of land cover maps that distinguish native forest from plantations.Using a study area in east Kalimantan,Landsat images were combined with either ALOS PALSAR or Sentinel-1 images to map four land cover classes(native forest,oil palm plantation,rubber plantation,non-forest).Bayesian multitemporal classification was applied to increase map accuracy and maps were validated using a confusion matrix;final map overall accuracy was>90%.Over 18 years from 2000 to 2018 nearly half the native forests in the study area were converted to either non-forest or plantations of either rubber or oil palm,with the highest losses between 2015 and 2016.Trending upwards from 2008 large areas of degraded or cleared forests,mapped as non-forest,were converted to oil palm plantation.Conversion of native forests to plantation mainly occurred in lowland and wetland forest,while significant forest regrowth was detected in degraded peatland.These maps will help Indonesia with strategies and policies for balancing economic growth and conservation. | Inggit Lolita Sari Christopher J.Weston Glenn J.Newnham Liubov Volkova | 2022 | International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1: | 0 |

| 20 | Additive predictions of aboveground stand biomass in commercial logs and harvest residues for rotation age Pinus radiata plantations in New South Wales,Australia显示文摘Two systems of additive equations were developed to predict aboveground stand level biomass in log products and harvest residue from routinely measured or predicted stand variables for Pinus radiata plantations in New South Wales,Australia.These plantations were managed under three thinning regimes or stand types before clear-felling at rotation age by cut-to-length harvesters to produce sawlogs and pulpwood.The residue material following a clear-fell operation mainly consisted of stumps,branches and treetops,short off-cut and waste sections due to stem deformity,defects,damage and breakage.One system of equations did not include dummy variables for stand types in the model specification and was intended for more general use in plantations where stand density management regimes were not the same as the stand types in our study.The other system that incorporated dummy variables was for stand type-specific applications.Both systems of equations were estimated using 61 plot-based estimates of biomass in commercial logs and residue components that were derived from systems of equations developed in situ for predicting the product and residue biomass of individual trees.To cater for all practical applications,two sets of parameters were estimated for each system of equations for predicting component and total aboveground stand biomass in fresh and dry weight respectively.The two sets of parameters for the system of equations without dummy variables were jointly estimated to improve statistical efficiency in parameter estimation.The predictive performances of the two systems of equations were benchmarked through a leave-one-plot-out cross validation procedure.They were generally superior to the performance of an alternative two-stage approach that combined an additive system for major components with an allocative system for sub-components.As using forest harvest residue biomass for bioenergy has increasingly become an integrated part of forestry,reliable estimates of product and residue biomass will assist harvest and management planning for clear-fell operations that integrate cut-to-length log production with residue harvesting. | Xixi Qiao Huiquan Bi Yun Li Fabiano Ximenes Christopher JWeston Liubov Volkova Mohammad Reza Ghaffariyan | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6: | 0 |
