Effects of Yishendaluo decoction on blood-brain barrier integrity in mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis显示文摘This study investigated the effects of Yishendaluo decoction on the loss of blood-brain barrier integrity in mice exhibiting experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. To this end,we used real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR to measure the levels of mRNAs specific to the T cell markers CD4 and CD8,and the monocyte marker CD11b.In addition,we used Evans blue dye extravasation in the spinal cord and brain tissues to assess blood-brain barrier permeability. The results indicated that an increase in blood-brain barrier permeability was associated with an increase in CD4,CD8 and CD11b mRNA expression in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis mice.Yishendaluo decoction administration significantly reversed inflammatory cell accumulation in cerebral tissues of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis mice. | Yanqing Wu Ying Gao Lingqun Zhu Yonghong Gao Dongmei Zhang Lixia Lou Yanfang Yan | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,15: | 2

Profiling of immune features to predict immunotherapy efficacy显示文摘Immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)therapies exhibit substantial clinical benefit in different cancers, but relatively low response rates in the majority of patients highlight the need to understand mutual relationships among immune features. Here,we reveal overall positive correlations among immune checkpoints and immune cell populations.Clinically, patients benefiting from ICB exhibited increases for both immune stimulatory and inhibitory features after initiation of therapy, suggesting that the activation of the immune microenvironment might serve as the biomarker to predict immune response. As proof-of-concept,we demonstrated that the immune activation score(ISD)based on dynamic alteration of interleukins in patient plasma as early as two cycles(4-6 weeks)after starting immunotherapy can accurately predict immunotherapy efficacy. Our results reveal a systematic landscape of associations among immune features and provide a noninvasive,cost-effective,and time-efficient approach based on dynamic profiling of pre-and on-treatment plasma to predict immunotherapy efficacy. | Youqiong Ye Yongchang Zhang Nong Yang Qian Gao Xinyu Ding Xinwei Kuang Rujuan Bao Zhao Zhang Chaoyang Sun Bingying Zhou Li Wang Qingsong Hu Chunru Lin Jianjun Gao Yanyan Lou Steven HLin Lixia Diao Hong Liu Xiang Chen Gordon B.Mills Leng Han | 2022 | The Innovation2022,3,1: | 0
Development of New Green Feed for Large Water Surface Ecological Fishery显示文摘In view of the fact that cages and bait are not allowed in large water surface aquiculture,1-2 kinds of new green feeds'plankton+microecologics'were developed to solve the problems of yield reduction, slow growth and difficulty in fishing of aquatic organisms caused by extensive mode. The new green feed is ecological, environmentally friendly and residue-free,which not only supplements nutrition but also meets the requirements of environmental protection. | Zhenyan YANG Yichun LOU Lixia MENG Juntian HAO Weiguo CHEN Aimei WANG | 2023 | Asian Agricultural Research2023,15,6: | 0
Next-generation finely controlled graded porous antibacterial bioceramics for high-efficiency vascularization in orbital reconstruction显示文摘Eyeball loss due to severe ocular trauma, intraocular malignancy or infection often requires surgical treatment called orbital implant reconstruction to rehabilitate the orbital volume and restore the aesthetic appearance. However,it remains a challenge to minimize the postoperative exposure and infection complications due to the inert nature of conventional orbital implants.Herein,we developed a novel Ca-Zn-silicate bioceramic implant with multi-functions to achieve the expected outcomes. The porous hardystonite(Ca2ZnSi2O7)scaffolds with triply periodic minimal surfaces(TPMS)-based pore architecture and graded pore size distribution from center to periphery(from 500 to 800μm or vice versa)were fabricated through the digital light processing(DLP)technique, and the scaffolds with homogeneous pores(500 or 800μm)were fabricated as control. The graded porous scaffolds exhibited a controlled bio-dissolving behavior and intermediate mechanical strength in comparison with the homogeneous counterparts, although all of porous implants presented significant antibacterial potential against S.aureus and E.coli.Meanwhile,the pore size-increasing scaffolds indicated more substantial cell adhesion, cell viability and angiogenesis-related gene expression in vitro.Furthermore, the gradually increasing pore feature exhibited a stronger blood vessel infiltrating potential in the dorsal muscle embedding model, and the spherical implants with such pore structure could achieve complete vascularization within 4 weeks in the eyeball enucleation rabbit models.Overall, our results suggested that the novel antibacterial hardystonite bioceramic with graded pore design has excellent potential as a next-generation orbital implant, and the pore topological features offer an opportunity for the improvement of biological performances in orbital reconstruction. | Jingyi Wang Yiyu Peng Menglu Chen Xizhe Dai Lixia Lou Changjun Wang Zhaonan Bao Xianyan Yang Zhongru Gou Juan Ye | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,10: | 0
Effect of magnetic fields on pulse plating of cobalt films显示文摘Magnetic fields parallel to the electrodes were introduced during a pulse plating process to obtain cobalt thin films from alkaline baths. Ef-fects of different magnetic intensities on the composition, microstructure, and magnetic properties of cobalt thin films were investigated. It was found that the deposition speed increased gradually with the increase of magnetic intensity. Almost all of the deposited films were crys-talline and showed Co(002), Co(100) peaks. With the rise on the magnetic intensity, the intensity of Co (002) peak raised gradually. Mag-netic fields would induce cobalt growing along (002) orientation. The films were densely covered with typical nodular structure. Films of smaller grain size and smooth surface could be formed under high magnetic intensity (1 T) as a result of magnetic force and MHD effects. Moreover, higher magnetic intensity induced larger saturation magnetization and lower coercivity. With the rise on magnetic intensity, cobalt contents in the films increased gradually, which led to the rise of saturation magnetization. | Yu, Yundan Li, Wei Lou, Junwei Ge, Hongliang Sun, Lixia Jiang, Li Wei, Guoying | 2012 | Rare Metals2012,31,2: | 0
Cerebral processing of emotions in phantom eye pain patients:An event related potential study显示文摘Purpose Phantom eye pain(PEP)is a major clinical problem after eye removal with no standard treatment protocol to date.As pain is a multidimensional experience associated with emotional and cognitive components, this study aimed to explore the possible neuropsychological mechanisms of PEP in a perspective of emotional cognition,in order to provide a basis for clinical treatment. Methods Visual oddball event-related potentials(ERPs)under different external emotional stimuli(Disgust,Fear,Sadness,Happiness,Erotica and Neutral)were tested in 12 patients and 12 healthy volunteers.Participants'affective states were measured with the Mood Disorder Questionnaire(MDQ),the Hypomania Checklist-32(HCL-32),and the Plutchik–van Praag Depression Inventory(PVP).The amplitudes and latencies of N1,P2,N2 and P3 components were analyzed by three-way ANOVA,i.e.,group(2)×emotion(6)×electrode(3).Multiple comparisons were performed using Bonferroni's test. Results Longer N1 latencies, increased N1 amplitudes;shorter P2 latencies under Disgust and Happiness, decreased P2 amplitudes;shorter N2 latencies under Erotica, increased N2 amplitudes were found in patients compared with controls. There was no main effect of group or interaction effect on P3 latencies and P3 amplitudes. The MDQ and HCL-32 scores were lower, and the N1 latencies under Sadness were negatively correlated with PVP scores in patients. Conclusions PEP patients showed reversed patterns in exogenous attention allocation and enhanced involuntary attention to emotional stimuli compared with controls. This study demonstrated cortical processing of emotions in PEP patients and could provide a basis for developing emotional intervention therapy. | Lixia Lou Yijie Wang Bingren Zhang Yanli Jia Wei Wang Juan Ye | 2022 | Advances in Ophthalmology Practice and Research2022,2,3: | 0
Screening the stage-specific expression gene from different germ cells of rat显示文摘Objective: To screen the stage-specific expression genes from rat spermatogonia, pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids. Methods: Highly purified spermatogonia were isolated from 9-day-old rats, pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids from adult rats by sedimentation velocity at unit gravity, using 2%-4% BSA gradient in DMEM/F12 medium. A mRNA differential display method was used for screening the stage-specific expression gene. Results: Nineteen differentially expressed cDNA fragments were obtained. After excluding the false positive cDNA fragments by dot blot, 13 cDNAs were selected to clone and sequence. To obtain longer cDNAs, six ESTs were used to screen the rat testis λ-zap II cDNA library. Two longer cDNA fragments, designated as LY21 and LM66, were obtained. The analysis with DNAMAN software indicated that LY21 had a long open reading frame coding 372 amino acids while LM66 had no long open reading frame. LY21 were highly homologous with hnRNP H1. To observe the expression patterns of LY21 gene in the testicular cells, we performed in situ hybridization on testis sections from adult rats. The LY21 gene expression was found in the spermatogonia and primary spermatocytes. Conclusion: This study indicated that LY21 gene was associated with spermatogenesis. Further studies will be needed to explore the function of LY21. | Jia Mengchun(贾孟春) Lou Lixia(娄利霞) Pei Kaiyan(裴开颜) Zhao Longmei(赵龙梅) Shi Xinquan(石心泉) | 2002 | 生殖医学杂志2002,11,z1: | 0
