1Experimental assessment and prediction of temporal scour depth around a spur dike显示文摘Spur dikes are river training structures that have been extensively used worldwide for towards enhancing flood control and the stability of embankments and riverbanks.However,scour around spur dikes can be a major problem affecting their stability and hydraulic performance.The precise computation of temporal scour depth at spur dikes is very important for the design of economical and safe spur dikes.This study focuses on experimentally assessing the temporal variation of scour depth around a vertical wall spur dike and identifying the parameters,which mostly influence spur dike performance for a channel bed surface comprised of sand-gravel mixtures.In the current study,the authors did physical experiments in a flume based study to obtain new data,aimed at deriving a new predictive model for spur dike scour and comparing its performance to others found in the literature.It was found that the dimensionless temporal scour depth variation increases with an increase in(i)the threshold velocity ratio,(ii)the densimetric Froude number of the bed surface sediment mixture,(iii)the flow shallowness(defined as the ratio of the approach flow depth,y,to the spur dike’s transverse length,l),and(iv)the flow depth-particle size ratio.It is also concluded that the temporal scour depth variation in the sediment mixture is influenced by the non-uniformity of sediment and decreases with an increase in the non-uniformity of the sediment mixture.A new mathematical model is derived for the estimation of temporal scour depths in sand-gravel sediment mixtures.The proposed equation has been calibrated and validated with the experimental data,demonstrating a good predictive capacity for the estimation of temporal scour depth evolution.Manish Pandey Manousos Valyrakis Meilan Qi Anurag Sharma Ajay Singh Lodhi 2021International Journal of Sediment Research2021,36,1:8

3Gene-gene,gene-environment,gene-nutrient interactions and single nucleotide polymorphisms of inflammatory cytokines显示文摘Inflammation plays a significant role in the etiology of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).The rise in the pro-inflammatory cytokines is the essential step in glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity induced mitochondrial injury,oxidative stress and beta cell apoptosis in T2 DM.Among the recognized markers are interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1,IL-10,IL-18,tissue necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),C-reactive protein,resistin,adiponectin,tissue plasminogen activator,fibrinogen and heptoglobins.Diabetes mellitus has firm genetic and very strong environmental influence; exhibiting a polygenic mode of inheritance.Many single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in various genes including those of pro and antiinflammatory cytokines have been reported as a risk for T2 DM.Not all the SNPs have been confirmed by unifying results in different studies and wide variations have been reported in various ethnic groups.The inter-ethnic variations can be explained by the fact that gene expression may be regulated by gene-gene,gene-environment and gene-nutrient interactions.This review highlights the impact of these interactions on determining the role of single nucleotide polymorphism of IL-6,TNF-α,resistin and adiponectin in pathogenesis of T2 DM.Amina Nadeem Sadaf Mumtaz Abdul Khaliq Naveed Muhammad Aslam Arif Siddiqui Ghulam Mustafa Lodhi Tausif Ahmad 2015World Journal of Diabetes2015,6,4:4
4西印度醋栗对四氯化碳引起的大鼠和小鼠急性过氧化肝损伤的保护作用(英文)显示文摘目的:证实西印度醋栗(Phyllanthus acidus(L.)Skeels)的果实在传统医学中作为保肝药使用的药用用途。方法:连续5d分别给予各组大鼠西印度醋栗果实的70%乙醇提取物(100,200和400mg/kg口服)及对照药水飞蓟素(100mg/kg口服)并于第2天及第3天皮下注射四氯化碳(2mL/kg)。测定血清天冬氨酸氨基转移酶(aspartate transaminase,AST)、丙氨酸氨基转移酶(alanine transaminase,ALT)、碱性磷酸酶(alkaline phosphatase,ALP)、总胆红素以及总蛋白并进行肝脏组织病理学检测。检测大鼠肝组织匀浆中的氧化应激标记物如脂质过氧化反应(lipid peroxidation,LPO)、还原型谷胱甘肽(reduced glutathione,GSH)、超氧化物歧化酶(superoxide dismutase,SOD)、过氧化氢酶(catalase,CAT)以及谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(glutathione peroxidase,GPx)以衡量西印度醋栗的体外抗氧化作用。此外,本实验还记录了伊维巴诱导的给药后小鼠睡眠时间,使用2,2-二苯基-1-苦基肼(2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil,DPPH)法测定小鼠服药后的自由基清除率。结果:与对照组相比,西印度醋栗果实的乙醇提取物及水飞蓟素均显著降低了模型大鼠血清AST、ALT和ALP水平及LPO并升高了TP、GSH、SOD、CAT和GPx的水平(P<0.01或P<0.05)。大鼠肝脏组织的组织病理学切片结果也证实了以上实验结果。在小鼠实验中,与对照组相比,西印度醋栗果实的乙醇提取物显著缩短了伊维巴诱导的小鼠睡眠时间(P<0.01),并具有较高的DPPH清除率。结论:本研究的实验结果证实了西印度醋栗果实对四氯化碳引起的大鼠急性过氧化肝损伤的保护作用,机制可能与其抗氧化作用及自由基清除功能有关。Nilesh Kumar Jain Santram Lodhi Avijeet Jain Alok Nahata Abhay K.Singhai 2011中西医结合学报2011,9,1:3
5Preliminary pharmacological evaluation of Martynia annua Linn leaves for wound healing显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the wound healing potential of fractions from ethanol extract of Martynin annua(M.annua) Linn leaves.Methods:Ethanol extract of Af.annua Linn leaves was fractionate into three different fractions(MAF-A,MAF-B and MAF-C) which were screened for wound healing potential using two models:excision and incision on rats.The thin layer chromatography(TLC) profile of all fractions were analysed and TLC of luteolin was also done.The PovidoneIodine Ointment was used as reference for comparision.Excision and incision wounds were created on dorsal portion of rats for study.Wound contraction,biochemical parameters(protein level and hydroxyproline level) and histopathological study were performed in excision wound model whereas incision model was used for determination of tensile strength.Results:The wound contraction and tensile strength of skin tissues were observed significantly greater in MAF-C fraction treated group than other two fractions(P<0.01).In excision wound method(on day 18) protein content and hydroxyproline were found significantly higher in MAF-C group than control group(P<0.01).Histopathological study also showed better angiogenesis,matured collagen fibres and fibroblast cells as compared with the control group.Conclusions:In conclusion, our findings suggest that fiaction MAF-C from ethanol extract of M.annua leaves is found most effective in wound healing.Santram Lodhi Singhai AK 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2011,1,6:3
6腐植酸产品特性及其对真菌和植物生长的影响显示文摘天然腐植酸主要来自风化煤和褐煤等,其产品主要有Pak腐植酸盐、腐植酸盐肥料、PakHumax、Hum-kara和Humide等,它们在使用之前必须了解其功效。本研究比较了4种腐植酸肥料的理化性质、光学特性以及对小麦(栽培品种Sehr)、绿豆(绿豆-54)、玉米(C-12)和田菁种子萌发和生长的影响,同时研究了它们对4种真菌的影响。4种腐植酸肥料的含水量为52%~71.11%,溶解度为30.2%~98.2%,密度为1.67~4.17g/mL,2%腐植酸肥料水溶液pH值为5.39~10.11,EC值为3.140~1.143mS/cm。4种腐植酸肥料的碳含量为22.95%~36.56%、氮含量为0.658%~1.183%,相应的C/N比为30.91~44.16。将4种腐植酸肥料用0.1mol/LNaOH溶液溶解,分离获得腐植酸和黄腐酸,按含碳量计算,含碳量40.3%~77.5%的为腐植酸,含碳量22.5%~59.7%的为黄腐酸。对腐植酸在400nm、500nm、600nm和700nm下的光学性质进行了研究,并对465nm和665nm条件下的吸光度进行测量,计算其比值E4/E6(即消光系数)。结果表明,E4/E6比值变化在3.64~5.48之间,且光密度随着波长的增加而降低,与腐殖质的碳含量具有显著相关性。供试的4株真菌中,根据菌落直径观察,Tricho-dermaharzianum,T.hamatum和Alternariaalternate3种真菌在0.025%腐植酸培养基上生长最好。4种腐植酸肥料对小麦、玉米、绿豆种子萌发都有抑制作用,但对田菁种子萌发具有促进作用;对小麦和玉米的根具有促进生长的作用,同时可以提高小麦和玉米芽的干物质含量,而对绿豆和田菁没有影响。研究发现,巴基斯坦市场上销售的腐植酸肥料差异很大,为保障使用者的利益,对这些肥料进行质量监测十分必要。Asma Lodhi Shermeen Tahir Zafar Iqbal Ansar Mahmood Muhammad Akhtar Tariq Mahmood Qureshi Muhammad Yaqub Asif Naeem 董心亮 管天玉 林启美 2014腐植酸2014,,2:2
