Debonding Patch Detection in FRP-Strengthened Materials with Fiber-Optic Interferometer显示文摘The interfacial debonding in fiber-reinforced plastic(FRP)strengthened repair material will affect the bonding strength and lead to failure of the repair without warning.Unfortunately the interfacial damage is normally invisible and often in the form of a patch rather than a through-width crack. Therefore,a debonding patch detection technique based on fiber optic interferometry is proposed.A quasi-impulse loading is applied with a rubberhead hammer and the total elongation of a surface-mounted optical fiber along the length of the repair material is measured as a function of load position. When a debonding patch is present, the induced sudden slope or sign change on the plot of fiber integral strain v.s.load position will reveal the extent and the location of the debonded area. The results of the study indicate that the proposed technique is applicable for debonding patch detection in repaired members under various support conditions.Xu Ying Wang Dexiang Tang Tianyou Lu Miaomiao 2017Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics2017,34,3:1
Region-of-interest micro-focus computed tomography based on an all-optical inverse Compton scattering source显示文摘Micro-focus computed tomography(CT),which allows the hyperfine structure within objects to be reconstructed,is a powerful nondestructive testing tool in many fields. However, current x-ray sources for micro-focus CT are typically limited by their relatively low photon energy and low flux.An all-optical inverse Compton scattering source(AOCS)based on laser wakefield acceleration can generate intense quasi-monoenergetic x/gamma-ray pulses in the kilo-to megaelectronvolt range with micrometer-level source size, and its potential application for micro-focus CT has become very attractive in recent years because of the rapid progress made in laser wakefield acceleration.Reported here is a successful experimental demonstration of high-fidelity micro-focus CT using an AOCS(∼70 keV)by imaging and reconstructing a test object with complex inner structures.A region-of-interest CT method is adopted to utilize the relatively small field of view of the AOCS to ensure high spatial resolution. This demonstration of AOCS-based region-of-interest micro-focus CT is a key step toward its application in the field of hyperfine nondestructive testing.Yue Ma Jianfei Hua Dexiang Liu Yunxiao He Tianliang Zhang Jiucheng Chen Fan Yang Xiaonan Ning Zhongshan Yang Jie Zhang Chih-Hao Pai Yuqiu Gu Wei Lu 2020Matter and Radiation at Extremes2020,5,6:1
Faster evolution of Z-linked duplicate genes in chicken显示文摘It has been shown that duplicate genes on the X chromosome evolve much faster than duplicate genes on autosomes in Drosophila melanogaster. However, whether this phenomenon is general and can be applied to other species is not known. Here we examined this issue in chicken that have heterogametic females (females have ZW sex chromosome). We compared sequence divergence of duplicate genes on the Z chromosome with those on autosomes. We found that duplications on the Z chromosome indeed evolved faster than those on autosomes and show distinct patterns of molecular evolution from autosomal duplications. Examination of the expression of duplicate genes revealed an enrichment of duplications on the Z chromosome having male-biased expression and an enrichment of duplications on the autosomes having female-biased expression. These results suggest an evolutionary trend of the recruitment of duplicate genes towards reproduction-specific function. The faster evolution of duplications on Z than on the autosomes is most likely contributed by the selective forces driving the fixation of adaptive mutations on Z. Therefore, the common phenomena observed in both flies and chicken suggest that duplicate genes on sex chromosomes have distinct dynamics and are more influenced by natural selection than autosomal duplications, regardless of the kind of sex determination systems.Yan Li Liqing Zhang Dexiang Zhang Xiquan Zhang Xuemei Lu 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,10:0
Microbiome-metabolome analysis reveals cervical lesion alterations显示文摘Cervical cancer(CC)continues to be one of the most common cancers among females worldwide. It takes a few years or even decades for CC to arise in a minority of women with cervical precancers. An increasing corpus of studies today indicates that local microecology and carcinogenesis are intimately related. To investigate the changes in cericovaginal microecology with the development of cervical cancer,we performed 16S rDNA sequencing and metabolomic analysis in cericovaginal fluid from 10 LSIL patients,10 HSIL patients,10 CC patients and 10 healthy controls to reveal the differential flora and metabolites during cervical carcinogenesis.Carcinogenesis is associated with alterations in microbiome diversity, individual taxa, and functions with notable changes in Lactobacillus,Prevotella and Aquabacterium,as well as in cervicovaginal metabolites that correlate with cervicovaginal microbial patterns.Increased bacterial diversity and a decline in the relative abundance of Lactobacillus, the dominant species in the cericovaginal flora, are observed when cervical lesions advance.According to KEGG pathway enrichment analysis, lipids and organic acids change as cervical cancer progresses, and the phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan biosynthesis pathway is essential for the development of cervical cancer. Our results reveal that microbic and metabolomic profiling is capable of distinguishing CC from precancer and highlights potential biomarkers for the early detection of cervical dysplasia. These differential microorganisms and metabolites are expected to become a potential tool to assist in the diagnosis of cervical cancer.Hanjie Xu Lou Liu Feng Xu Min Liu Yuexiao Song Jiale Chen Huiying Zhan Ye Zhang Dexiang Xu Yu Chen Mudan Lu Daozhen Chen 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,10:0
Liver dysfunction on admission worsens clinical manifestations and outcomes of coronavirus disease 2019显示文摘Background:Liver dysfunction was common in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),but its association with clinical features and poor prognosis has not been fully delineated. Our study aimed to determine the role of liver dysfunction in COVID-19 and understand the predictors for worse outcomes in patients with liver injury. Methods:We conducted this multicenter, retrospective study in five designated hospitals for COVID-19 manage-ment.Laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients were enrolled and classified into the normal live function group and liver dysfunction group according to liver enzymes, bilirubin, and albumin on admission, respectively.Data of baseline, clinical manifestations, and outcomes were collected and compared in the paired groups. Results:Of the 649 included COVID-19 patients,200(30.8%),69(10.6%),and 267(41.1%)patients had elevated liver enzymes, increased bilirubin, and low-level albumin, respectively.Fever, cough, and dyspnea were the most common symptoms and showed an increased proportion in the liver dysfunction group.Compared with patients in the normal liver function group, patients with liver dysfunction manifested decreased lymphocytes, higher level of leukocytes, neutrophils, inflammatory indicators, and cytokines,as well as more severe impairment in kidney function and myocardium. They were more likely to show bilateral involvement and more pulmonary lobes involved according to chest images. With increased proportion of patients who developed severe/critical conditions and needed mechanical ventilation and systemic glucocorticoid therapy, patients with liver dysfunc-tion on admission showed significantly higher in-hospital mortality. Moreover, cardiac troponin I≥1.5 ng/mL was identified as an independent mortality predictor in the elevated liver enzymes group. Conclusion:Patients with liver dysfunction on admission had worse clinical manifestation, and resulted in higher rate of severe/critical type, receiving mechanical ventilation and in-hospital mortality.Fangying Lu Rong Chen Kandi Xu Jie Huang Dexiang Yang Tao Bai Yusang Xie Yun Ling Kui Liu Wei Du Jiayang Yan Huihuang Lin Jian Li Yun Feng Min Zhou Yi Guo 2023Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,3:0
Comparative Study on Pig Raising between Bio-bed System and Cement Ground System显示文摘In order to conduct the comparison of pig raising under different raising modes,a total of 40 pigs with the weights of 20- 30 kg were randomly divided into two groups( experimental group, fermentation bed; control group, cement ground). During a 81-day-test,pigs in the two groups were fed with same diets, and growth performance of pigs was compared. After the feeding, six pigs of each group were slaughtered in order to examine meat quality. The results showed that average daily gain of pigs in test group was 17. 93% higher than that in control group, difference between the two groups was significant. Feed weight ratio of pigs in test group was 14. 73% lower than that in control group, difference between the two groups was not significant. Color, water loss, drip loss, intramuscular fat, etc. of meat in test group were all better than that in control group, difference of drip loss between the two groups was extremely significant, while differences of color, water loss and intramuscular fat( IMF) between the two groups were not different. Pig raising by bio-bed system could improve growth performance and pork quality comparing with cement ground system.Wang Xiaohong Yan Linjun Lu Dexiang 2016Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2016,8,1:0
