| 1 | Delorme's operation plus sphincteroplasty for complete rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence显示文摘Rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence is a rare clinical combination. This study was designed to assess Delorme's operation with sphincteroplasty as a surgical management of this combination in terms of recurrence and improvement of fecal incontinence. In this prospective study, we enrolled patients suffering from short, full-thickness rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence who had been admitted to Alexandria Main University Hospital during the period of May 2010-January 2013. Preoperative data including cause of trauma, duration of symptoms, results of anal manometry, and degree of fecal incontinence using Wexner score were collected from all patients. Delorme's procedure with overlap sphincteroplasty was done in all patients. Recurrence of prolapse and improvement of fecal incontinence were assessed after 1,3, 6 and 12 months. The study included 13 patients aged(32 ±8.7) years, 9 females and 4 males. Cause of sphincteric injury included previous anal surgery in 7 patients and normal labor in 6 patients. Duration between sphincteric injury and operation was(8.08 土 2.47) months. Preoperative Wexner's mean score was 16.07 ±3.4. Early postoperative com?plications included superficial wound infection(69.2%), minor wound dehiscence(61.5%), and postoperative bleeding(7.6%). Recurrence was detected in 1 patient at 6 month follow-up. Wexner's score showed significant improvement for all patients after 6 months(4.00 + 2.04). | 4 | Embedded Coded Relay System for Molecular Communications显示文摘With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic,the World Health Organization(WHO)has urged scientists and industrialists to exploremodern information and communication technology(ICT)as a means to reduce or even eliminate it.The World Health Organization recently reported that the virus may infect the organism through any organ in the living body,such as the respiratory,the immunity,the nervous,the digestive,or the cardiovascular system.Targeting the abovementioned goal,we envision an implanted nanosystem embedded in the intra living-body network.The main function of the nanosystem is either to perform diagnosis and mitigation of infectious diseases or to implement a targeted drug delivery system(i.e.,delivery of the therapeutic drug to the diseased tissue or targeted cell).The communication among the nanomachines is accomplished via communication-based molecular diffusion.The control/interconnection of the nanosystem is accomplished through the utilization of Internet of bio-nano things(IoBNT).The proposed nanosystem is designed to employ a coded relay nanomachine disciplined by the decode and forward(DF)principle to ensure reliable drug delivery to the targeted cell.Notably,both the sensitivity of the drug dose and the phenomenon of drug molecules loss before delivery to the target cell site in long-distance due to the molecules diffusion process are taken into account.In this paper,a coded relay NM with conventional coding techniques such as RS and Turbo codes is selected to achieve minimum bit error rate(BER)performance and high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR),while the detection process is based on maximum likelihood(ML)probability and minimum error probability(MEP).The performance analysis of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of channel capacity and bit error rate by varying system parameters such as relay position,number of released molecules,relay and receiver size.Analysis results are validated through simulation and demonstrate that the proposed scheme can significantly improve delivery performance of the desirable drugs in the molecular communication system. | Eman S.Attia Ashraf A.M.Khalaf Fathi E.Abd El-Samie Saied M.Abd El-atty Konstantinos A.Lizos Osama Alfarraj Farid Shawki Imran Khan Ki-Il Kim | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,8: | 1 |

| 7 | Multicomponent synthesis and designing of tetrasubstituted imidazole compounds catalyzed via ionic-liquid for acid steel corrosion protection:Experimental exploration and theoretical calculations显示文摘Five new tetrasubstituted imidazoles were designed with outstanding yields(83%-92%) in the occurrence of ionic liquid-based-pyridinium as a catalyst. The constructions of all synthesized derivatives were established by spectral tools and their purities were verified using thin-layer chromatography(TLC), displaying single-spot. The performance of corrosion protection of the prepared imidazole derivatives was examined theoretically and practically for acid steel corrosion. The experimental study was conducted by electrochemical(electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and Tafel polarization(PPS)) tools.The findings from the used approaches concluded that the synthesized compounds were wellorganized inhibitors with an efficiency of 90.7%-98.5% at 50℃ and 0.7 mmol·L^(-1). The Tafel polarization results indicate the protective action of the additives was under mixed-monitoring. The additive adsorption on the electrode interface performed as a distinguished aspect for protection. The surface exploration on the blank and protected metal was completed by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM). Computational studies by Monte Carlo(MC) simulation and quantum chemical calculation(DFT)were related to practical findings. The corrosion protection adsorption mechanism was reinforced by the preferable fitted Langmuir isotherm model. | 9 | New Polymer Syntheses Part 60: A Facile Synthetic Route to Polyamides Based on Thieno[2,3-b]thiophene and Their Corrosion Inhibition Behavior显示文摘Polyamides containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety were prepared via a simple polycondensation reaction of the diaminothieno[2,3-b]thiophene monomer 1 a with different kinds of diacid chlorides(including oxalyl, adipoyl, sebacoyl, isophthaloyl,terephthaloyl, 4,4′-azodibenzoyl, 3,3′-azodibenzoyl, p-phenylene diacryloyl) in the presence of Li Cl and NMP as a solvent through lowtemperature solution polycondensation. The chemical structures of model compound and synthesized polyamides were confirmed by FTIR, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(including ~1H-NMR and ^(13)C-NMR) and elemental analysis. In addition, the thermal stability, crystallinity structure and surface morphology of synthesized polyamides were characterized via thermogravametric analysis(TGA), wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis(WAXD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Also, the corrosion inhibition behavior of selected examples of polyamides was investigated; the inhibitive effect of the investigated polymers for carbon steel in 1.0 mol·L^(-1) HCl was studied using potentiodynamic polarization(PDP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) methods. PDP results displayed that the polyamides containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety can be as mixed-type inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency(P, %) was found to be in the range from 67.13% to 96.01%. | 13 | An Efficient Indoor Localization Based on Deep Attention Learning Model显示文摘Indoor localization methods can help many sectors,such as healthcare centers,smart homes,museums,warehouses,and retail malls,improve their service areas.As a result,it is crucial to look for low-cost methods that can provide exact localization in indoor locations.In this context,imagebased localization methods can play an important role in estimating both the position and the orientation of cameras regarding an object.Image-based localization faces many issues,such as image scale and rotation variance.Also,image-based localization’s accuracy and speed(latency)are two critical factors.This paper proposes an efficient 6-DoF deep-learning model for image-based localization.This model incorporates the channel attention module and the Scale PyramidModule(SPM).It not only enhances accuracy but also ensures the model’s real-time performance.In complex scenes,a channel attention module is employed to distinguish between the textures of the foregrounds and backgrounds.Our model adapted an SPM,a feature pyramid module for dealing with image scale and rotation variance issues.Furthermore,the proposed model employs two regressions(two fully connected layers),one for position and the other for orientation,which increases outcome accuracy.Experiments on standard indoor and outdoor datasets show that the proposed model has a significantly lower Mean Squared Error(MSE)for both position and orientation.On the indoor 7-Scenes dataset,the MSE for the position is reduced to 0.19 m and 6.25°for the orientation.Furthermore,on the outdoor Cambridge landmarks dataset,the MSE for the position is reduced to 0.63 m and 2.03°for the orientation.According to the findings,the proposed approach is superior and more successful than the baseline methods. | Amr Abozeid Ahmed I.Taloba Rasha M.Abd El-Aziz Alhanoof Faiz Alwaghid Mostafa Salem Ahmed Elhadad | 2023 | Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,46,8: | 0 |
| 14 | Effects of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract on the growth performance,blood characteristics,and histological features of gills and livers in Nile tilapia显示文摘Moringa oleifera is well known as a highly nutritious plant and a water purifier in fish culture.Tilapia fish has many impressive qualities making them very suitable for aquaculture.Therefore,this study aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract(MOAE)at varying concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 mg/kg diet for 90 days)on growth performance,hematological,and some biochemical parameters of Nile tilapia.Additionally,histological changes and immunohistochemical expression of caspase 3 in gills and livers were evaluated.Significant enhancements(P<0.05)in the final weight,weight gain,specific growth rate,red blood cells,hemoglobin,packed cell volume,white blood cells,and total serum protein were observed in fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet compared with other groups.However,a significant reduction(P<0.05)of liver and kidney function tests and non-significant changes in lipid profile were recorded.On the other hand,fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed disturbance in the corresponding parameters.Severe histological degenerative changes were detected in the gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet.In comparison,fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet showed the best histo-architectures of these organs compared with other groups.Concomitant immune expressions of caspase 3 were determined where gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed extensive number of positive caspase 3 cells indicating severe apoptotic features.Accordingly,a dietary MOAE at 200 mg/kg diet is recommended to improve the growth performance,hematological parameters,liver and kidney functions in Nile tilapia.Meanwhile,caution must be considered when using MOAE at a concentration over 200 mg/kg diet. | Mahamoud A.Emam Ramy M.Shourbela Waleed N.El-Hawarry Seham Y.Abo-Kora Fatma Abdel-Monem Gad Ashraf M.Abd El-latif Mahmoud A.O.Dawood | 2024 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2024,9,1: | 0 |
