| 1 | Factors Associated with Thrombolysis Outcome in Ischemic Stroke Patients with Atrial Fibrillation显示文摘The outcome of early intravenous thrombolysis for ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF)is worse than that without thrombosis. How to increase the efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis for AF-related ischemic stroke remains largely unknown. In this study, we investigated factors that influence the effect of intravenous thrombolysis in these patients. Our results showed that thrombolysis was independently associated with a favorable outcome(P \ 0.001) and did not influence the mortality of AF-related ischemic stroke, although it increased the risk of hemorrhage within 24 h after treatment. Risk factors for a poor outcome at admission were:heart failure(P = 0.045); high systolic pressure(P = 0.039); high blood glucose(P = 0.030); and a high National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) score(P \ 0.001). Moreover, high systolic pressure at admission(P = 0.007), high blood glucose(P = 0.027), and a high NIHSS score(P \ 0.001) were independent risk factors for mortality at 3 months. Besides thrombolysis, a high NIHSS score(P = 0.006) and warfarin taken within 48 h before stroke onset(P = 0.032) were also independent risk factors for symptomatic hemorrhage within 24 h after treatment. | 10 | Interlayer and intralayer co-modified flexible V_(2)CT_(X) MXene@SWCNT films for high-power Li-ion capacitors显示文摘As an emerging member of the two-dimensional(2D)material family,V_(2)CT_(X)MXene shows great potential in the application of lithium-ion capacitors(LICs)due to its unique structure and excellent electrical conductivity.However,severe nanosheets stacking and intra-layer transport barriers have limited the further development of V_(2)CT_(X)MXene-based materials.Herein,we prepared Kions and–O functional group co-modified V_(2)CT_(X)MXene(VCT-K)and further incorporated it with single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT),obtaining freestanding V_(2)CT_(X)composite films(VCT-K@C)with the 3D conductive network.Significantly,K+ions were introduced into V_(2)CT_(X)MXene to stabilize the interlayer structure and prevent the aggregation of nanosheets,the terminal group of–O was controllably modified on the surface of MXene to improve the Li+ions storage reversible capacities and the SWCNT acted as the bridge between MXene nanosheets to opens up the channels for ion/electron transportation in the longitudinal direction.Benefited from the synergistic effect of VCT-K and SWCNT,the VCT-K@C exhibits superior reversible specific capacities of 671.8 mA h g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1)and 318 mA h g^(-1)at 1.0 A g^(-1).Furthermore,the assembled LICs with VCT-K@C anode coupling activated carbon(AC)cathode deliver an outstanding power density of 19.0 kW kg^(-1)at 67.4 Wh kg^(-1),a high energy density of 140.5 Wh kg^(-1)at 94.8 W kg^(-1)and a stable capacitance retention of 86%after 6000 cycles at 10 A g^(-1).Such unique structures and excellent electrochemical properties are expected to pave the way for the large-scale application in LICs of MXene-based materials. | Wanli Wang Min Feng Enze Hu Zhaowei Hu Cheng Fan Huifang Li Peng Wang Xiaojun Wang Zhiming Liu | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,4: | 0 |
| 11 | Correlation between level of serum prolactin and epileptic discharges of electroencephalogram from 24 to 36 hours after epileptic onset显示文摘BACKGROUND: Researchers discovered that serum prolactin could rise following an epileptic seizure. The prolactin level might reach three times more than basic level within 30 minutes and decrease to the normal value 2 hours after the seizure occurred. The mechanism might result in an increase of serum prolactin concentrations with the activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. OBJECTIVE:To probe into the correlation between changes of serum prolactin and incidence of epileptic discharges of electroencephalogram (EEG) at 24-36 hours after epileptic onset of patients with secondary epilepsy. DESIGN: Clinical observational study. SETTING: Department of Neurology, First Hospital affiliated to Soochow University. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 21 patients with secondary epilepsy were selected from the Department of Neurological Emergency or Hospital Room of the First Hospital affiliated to Soochow University from November 2005 to April 2006. There were 14 males and 7 females aged from 25 to 72 years. All patients met International League Anti-epileptic (ILAE) criteria in 1981 for secondary generalized tonic clonic seizure through CT or MRI and previous EEG. All patients were consent. Primary diseases included cerebral trauma (3 cases), tumor (2 cases), stroke (7 cases) and intracranial infeion (9 cases). METHODS: Venous blood of all patients was collected at 24-36 hours after epileptic onset. Serum prolactin kit (Beckman Coulter, Inc in USA) was used to measure value of serum prolactin according to kit instruction. Then, value of serum prolactin was compared with the normal value (male: 2.64-13.13 mg/L; female: 3.34-26.72 mg/L); meanwhile, EEG equipment (American Nicolet Incorporation) was used in this study. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Abnormal rate of serum prolactin of patients with secondary epilepsy; ②Comparison between normal and abnormal level of serum prolactin and incidence of EEG epileptic discharge of patients with secondary epilepsy. RESULTS:All 21 patients with secondary epilepsy were involved in the final analysis. ① Results of serum prolactin level: Among 21 patients with of secondary epilepsy, 10 of them had normal serum prolactin and 11 had abnormal one, and the abnormal rate was 52% (11/21). ② Detecting results of EEG: EEG results showed that 6 cases were normal and 15 were abnormal, and the abnormal rate was 71% (15/21). The symptoms were sharp wave, spike wave or sharp slow wave, spike slow wave of epileptic discharges in 8 cases, which was accounted for 38%. ③ Correlation between abnormality of serum prolactin and EEG epileptic wave: Eleven cases had abnormal serum prolactin, and the incidence was 64% (7/11), which was higher of epileptic wave than that of non-epileptic wave [36% (4/11), P < 0.05]; however, 10 cases had normal serum prolactin, and the incidence was 10% (1/10). Epileptic wave was lower than non-epileptic wave [90% (9/10), P < 0.01]. | 12 | Risk factors for disease severity in COVID-19 patients: A single-center retrospective study显示文摘Background:The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a huge threat to human health.However,little is known regarding the risk factors associated with COVID-19 severity.We aimed to explore early-stage disease risk factors associated with eventual disease severity.Methods:This study enrolled 486 hospitalized,non-intensive care unit(ICU)-admitted adult patients with COVID-19(age≥18 years)treated at Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital,who were divided into three groups according to disease severity.The demographic,clinical,and laboratory data at admission and clinical outcomes were compared among severity groups,and the risk factors for disease severity were identified by multiple regression analysis.Results:Of 486 patients with COVID-19,405(83.33%)were discharged,33(6.71%)died outside of the ICU,and 48(7.20%)were still being treated in the ICU by the time the study period ended.Significant differences in age,lymphocyte counts,and the levels of procalcitonin,aspartate aminotransferase,and D-dimer(P<0.001 for all)among the three groups.Further analysis showed that older age,decreased lymphocyte counts,and increased procalcitonin,aspartate aminotransferase,and D-dimer levels were significantly associated with disease progression.Conclusion:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)may impair the immune system,the blood coagulation system,and hepatic and cardiac function.Some clinical characteristics and laboratory findings can help identify patients with a high risk of disease severity,which can be significant for appropriate resource allocation during the COVID-19 pandemic. | Jingqing Xu Yanping Cai Min Li Qing Li Yingrui Zhang Ying Jiang Wanli Yan Xuemei Chen Hongxuan Zhang Zhaonan Zeng Fayang Lian Xiuling Shang Rongguo Yu | 2021 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2021,1,2: | 0 |
