1Land cover mapping using time series HJ-1 / CCD data显示文摘It is very difficult to have remote sensing data with both high spatial resolution and high temporal frequency; thus, two categories of land-use mapping methodology have been developed separately for coarser resolution and finer resolution data. The first category uses time series of data to retrieve the variation of land surface for classification, which are usually used for coarser resolution data with high temporal frequency. The second category uses fine spatial resolution data to classify different land surface. With the launch of Chinese satellite constellation HJ-1in 2008, four 30 m spatial resolution CCDs with about 360 km coverage for each one onboard two satellites made a revisit period of two days, which brought a new type of data with both high spatial resolution and high temporal frequency. Therefore, by taking the spatiotemporal advantage of HJ-1/CCD data we propose a new method for finer resolution land cover mapping using the time series HJ-1/CCD data, which can greatly improve the land cover mapping accuracy. In our two study areas, the very high resolution remote sensing data within Google Earth are used to validate the land cover mapping results, which shows a very high mapping accuracy of 95.76% and 83.78% and a high Kappa coefficient of 0.9423 and 0.8165 in the Dahuofang area of Liaoning Province and the Heiquan area of Gansu Province respectively.ZHONG Bo MA Peng NIE AiHua YANG AiXia YAO YanJuan Lü WenBo ZHANG Hang LIU QinHuo 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,8:9

4Genomic footprints of Kam Sweet Rice domestication indicate possible migration routes of theDongpeople inChina andprovide resources for future rice breeding显示文摘The Dong people are one of China’s 55 recognized ethnic minorities,but there has been a long-standing debate about their origins.In this study,we performed whole-genome resequencing of Kam Sweet Rice(KSR),a valuable,rare,and ancient rice landrace unique to the Dong people.Through comparative genomic analyses of KSR and other rice landraces from south of the Yangtze River Basin in China,we provide evidence that the ancestors of the Dong people likely originated from the southeast coast of China at least 1000 years ago.Alien introgression and admixture in KSR demonstrated multiple migration events in the history of the Dong people.Genomic footprints of domestication demonstrated characteristics of KSR that arose from artificial selection and geographical adaptation by the Dong people.The key genes GS3,Hd1,and DPS1(related to agronomic traits)and LTG1 and MYBS3(related to cold tolerance)were identified as domestication targets,reflecting crop improvement and changes in the geographical environment of the Dong people during migration.A genome-wide association study revealed a candidate yield-associated gene,Os01g0923300,a specific haplotype in KSR that is important for regulating grain number per panicle.RNA-sequencing and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR results showed that this gene was more highly expressed in KSR than in ancestral populations,indicating that it may have great value in increasing yield potential in other rice accessions.In summary,our work develops a novel approach for studying human civilization and migration patterns and provides valuable genomic datasets and resources for future breeding of high-yield and climate-resilient rice varieties.Chunhui Liu Tianyi Wang Huicha Chen Xiaoding Ma Chengzhi Jiao Di Cui Bing Han Xiaobing Li Aixia Jiao Renchao Ruan Dayuan Xue Yanjie Wang Longzhi Han 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,2:3

6Building Damage Extraction from Post-earthquake Airborne LiDAR Data显示文摘Building collapse is a significant cause of earthquake-related casualties; therefore, the rapid assessment of buildings damage is important for emergency management and rescue. Airborne light detection and ranging(Li DAR) can acquire point cloud data in combination with height values, which in turn provides detailed information on building damage. However, the most previous approaches have used optical images and LiDAR data, or pre- and post-earthquake LiDAR data, to derive building damage information. This study applied surface normal algorithms to extract the degree of building damage. In this method, the angle between the surface normal and zenith(θ) is used to identify damaged parts of a building, while the ratio of the standard deviation to the mean absolute deviation(σ/δ) of θ is used to obtain the degree of building damage. Quantitative analysis of 85 individual buildings with different roof types(i.e., flat top or pitched roofs) was conducted, and the results confirm that post-earthquake single LiDAR data are not affected by roof shape. 7Construction of a high-density mutant population of Chinese cabbage facilitates the genetic dissection of agronomic traits显示文摘Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa ssp.pekinensis)is an economically important vegetable crop throughout the world,especially in Asia.High-quality genome sequences are available for Chinese cabbage,but gene functional studies remain challenging.To promote functional genomic studies of Chinese cabbage,we generated an ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS)mutant population of~8000 M_(2) plants using the double haploid inbred line A03 as the parent.The genome of A03 was sequenced and used as a reference for high-throughput functional characterization of gene mutations at the whole-genome level.A total of 300 M_(2) to M_(5) EMS mutants were phenotypically screened and then sequenced,revealing 750629 SNPs and 46272 InDel mutations that cover 98.27%of all predicted genes in the A03 genome.A forward-genetics approach was successfully used to identify two genes with chloroplast-related functions that are responsible for the yellow leaf mutant trait.A reverse-genetics approach was also used to identify associations between mutations in five genes of the glucosinolate biosynthetic pathway and variations in glucosinolate content of the mutant plants.In addition,we built the Chinese cabbage EMS mutation database(CCEMD,www.bioinformaticslab.cn/EMSmutation/home)to increase the usability of this mutant population resource.In summary,we performed large-scale screening of a heading Chinese cabbage EMS mutant collection at the phenotypic and genotypic levels,which will facilitate gene mining of Chinese cabbage and might also be useful for the study of other Brassica crops.Xiaoxue Sun Xing Li Yin Lu Shan Wang Xiaomeng Zhang Kang Zhang Xiangjie Su Mengyang Liu Daling Feng Shuangxia Luo Aixia Gu Yu Fu Xueping Chen Shuxin Xuan Yanhua Wang Donghui Xu Shumin Chen Wei Ma Shuxing Shen Feng Cheng Jianjun Zhao 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,5:1
8Hormones and carbohydrates synergistically regulate the formation of swollen roots in a Chinese cabbage translocation line显示文摘The genus Brassica contains a rich diversity of species and morphological types,including leaf,root,and oil crops,all of which show substantial phenotypic variation.Both Chinese cabbage and cabbage are typical leaf-type crops with normal roots.We created translocation lines based on interspecific crosses between Chinese cabbage and cabbage and identified qdh225,which exhibited a swollen-root phenotype.The swollen root of qdh225 contained a large number of granular substances,and the formation of its irregular morphological tissue was caused by a thickening of the phloem.Transcriptomic and metabolomic data suggested that differential expression of genes encoding nine types of enzymes involved in starch and sucrose metabolism caused changes in starch synthesis and degradation in the swollen root.These genes jointly regulated sucrose and starch levels,leading to significant enrichment of starch and soluble proteins in the swollen root and a reduction in the content of soluble sugars such as d-glucose and trehalose 6-phosphate.A significant increase in auxin(IAA)and abscisic acid(ABA)contents and a decrease in gibberellin(GA)content in the swollen root likely promoted the differential expression of genes associated with hormone signal transduction,thereby regulating the development of the swollen root.Taken together,our data suggest that accumulation of IAA and ABA and reduction in GA promote swollen root formation by regulating hormone-mediated signaling,leading to a thickening of phloem,root enlargement,and substantial accumulation of starch and soluble proteins.The latter provide materials,energy,and nutrient sources for the development of swollen roots.Xiaojing Ren Wei Ma Shuxin Xuan Dandan Li Yanhua Wang Yuanchao Xu Daling Feng Jianjun Zhao Xueping Chen Shuangxia Luo Shuxing Shen Aixia Gu 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,8:0
9A Large Acute Gastroenteritis Outbreak Associated with Both Campylobacter coli and Human Sapovirus—Beijing Municipality,China,2021显示文摘Summary What is already known about this topic?Campylobacter is a significant foodborne pathogen that leads to global outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis(AGE)usually affecting less than 30 individuals.Human sapovirus(HuSaV)is an enteric virus responsible for sporadic cases and outbreaks of AGE worldwide.In a study conducted in Beijing,HuSaV detection ranked second after norovirus.What is added by this report?We present a discussion of the first large-scale outbreak of AGE caused by both Campylobacter coli(C.coli)and HuSaV.The outbreak involved a total of 996 patients and exhibited two distinct peaks over a period of 17 days.Through case-control studies,we identified exposure to raw water from a secondary water supply system as a significant risk factor.Among 83 patients,49 samples tested positive for C.coli,39 samples tested positive for HuSaV,and 27 samples tested positive for both pathogens using real-time polymerase chain reaction detection.Furthermore,whole-genome sequencing of 17 C.coli isolates obtained from 17 patients revealed that all isolates belonged to a highly clonal strain of C.coli.What are the implications for public health practice?Outbreaks of AGE resulting from multiple pathogen infections warrant increased attention.This report emphasizes the significance of ensuring the safety of drinking water,particularly in secondary supply systems.Lin Zou Ying Li Guilan Zhou Zhenzhou Huang Changyan Ju Chunyan Zhao Xiang Gao Bojun Zhen Ping Zhang Xiaochen Guo Jing Zhang Yang Zhang Bo Liu Shaolei Zhou Aixia Yan Ying Kang Yanchun Wang Hongmei Ma Xiaohui Li Maojun Zhang 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,52:0
10Manifesting viscosity changes in lipid droplets during iodined CT contrast media treatment by the real-time and in situ fluorescence imaging显示文摘Computed tomography(CT) is one of the most commonly used non-invasive clinical imaging modalities to predict, diagnose and treat the disease. Iodinated contrast media(ICM) is a form of intravenous radiocontrast agent containing iodine, which enhances the visibility of hollow tissue structures in medical CT imaging. ICM may cause allergic reactions, contrast-induced nephropathy, hyperthyroidism and possibly metformin accumulation. It is significant to find out the risk factors, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of adverse reactions caused by ICM. Revealing the changes of the lipid droplets(LDs)viscosity in pathophysiological processes such as cancer and iodined contrast media induced adverse reaction is not only important for monitoring the occurrence and development of some pathophysiological processes but also vital for the deep insight of the biological effects of LDs in these pathophysiological processes.
