1Molecular classifications of gastric cancers: Novel insights and possible future applications显示文摘Despite some notable advances in the systemic management of gastric cancer(GC), the prognosis of patients with advanced disease remains overall poor and their chance of cure is anecdotic. In a molecularly selected population, a median overall survival of 13.8 mo has been reached with the use of human epidermal growth factor 2(HER2) inhibitors in combination with chemotherapy, which has soon after become the standard of care for patients with HER2-overexpressing GC. Moreover, oncologists have recognized the clinical utility of conceiving cancers as a collection of different molecularlydriven entities rather than a single disease. Several molecular drivers have been identified as having crucial roles in other tumors and new molecular classifications have been recently proposed for gastric cancer as well. Not only these classifications allow the identification of different tumor subtypes with unique features, but also they serve as springboard for the development of different therapeutic strategies. Hopefully, the application of standard systemic chemotherapy, specifictargeted agents, immunotherapy or even surgery in specific cancer subgroups will help maximizing treatment outcomes and will avoid treating patients with minimal chance to respond, therefore diluting the average benefit. In this review, we aim at elucidating the aspects of GC molecular subtypes, and the possible future applications of such molecular analyses.Silvio Ken Garattini Debora Basile Monica Cattaneo Valentina Fanotto Elena Ongaro Marta Bonotto Francesca V Negri Rosa Berenato Paola Ermacora Giovanni Gerardo Cardellino Mariella Giovannoni Nicoletta Pella Mario Scartozzi Lorenzo Antonuzzo Nicola Silvestris Gianpiero Fasola Giuseppe Aprile 2017World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2017,9,5:5
2Transarterial chemoembolization using 40 μm drug eluting beads for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM To assess the safety and efficacy of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) using a new generation of 40 μm drug eluting beads in patients not eligible for curative treatment.METHODS Drug eluting bead TACE(DEB-TACE) using a new generation of microspheres(embozene tandem,40 μm) preloaded with 100 mg of doxorubicin was performed on 48 early or intermediate HCC patients with compensatedcirrhosis.Response to therapy was assessed with Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(RECIST) and modified RECIST(m RECIST) guidelines applied to computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.Eleven out of the 48 treated patients treated progressed on to receive liver orthotopic transplantation(OLT).This allowed for histological analysis on the treated explanted nodules.RESULTS DEB-TACE with 40 μm showed a good safety profile without major complications or 30-d mortality. The objective response rate of treated tumors was 72.6% and 26.7% according to m RECIST and RECIST respectively.Histological examination in 11 patients assigned to OLT showed a necrosis degree > 90% in 78.6% of cases. The overall time to progression was 13 mo(11-21).CONCLUSION DEB-TACE with 40 μm particles is an effective treatment for the treatment of HCC in early-intermediate patients(Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage A/B) with a good safety profile and good results in term of objective response rate and necrosis.Giorgio Greco Tommaso Cascella Antonio Facciorusso Roberto Nani Rodolfo Lanocita Carlo Morosi Marta Vaiani Giuseppina Calareso Francesca G Greco Antonio Ragnanese Marco A Bongini Alfonso V Marchianò Vincenzo Mazzaferro Carlo Spreafico 2017World Journal of Radiology2017,9,5:3
3Dendritic cell deficiencies persist seven months after SARS-CoV-2 infection显示文摘Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus(SARS-CoV)-2 infection induces an exacerbated inflammation driven by innate immunity components.Dendritic cells(DCs)play a key role in the defense against viral infections, for instance plasmacytoid DCs(pDCs),have the capacity to produce vast amounts of interferon-alpha(IFN-α).In COVID-19 there is a deficit in DC numbers and IFN-αproduction,which has been associated with disease severity. In this work,we described that in addition to the DC deficiency, several DC activation and homing markers were altered in acute COVID-19 patients, which were associated with multiple inflammatory markers.Remarkably, previously hospitalized and nonhospitalized patients remained with decreased numbers of CD1c+myeloid DCs and pDCs seven months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Moreover, the expression of DC markers such as CD86 and CD4 were only restored in previously nonhospitalized patients, while no restoration of integrinβ7 and indoleamine 2,3-dyoxigenase(IDO)levels were observed. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the immunological sequelae of COVID-19.Alberto Pérez-Gómez Joana Vitallé Carmen Gasca-Capote Alicia Gutierrez-Valencia María Trujillo-Rodriguez Ana Serna-Gallego Esperanza Muñoz-Muela María de los Reyes Jiménez-Leon Mohamed Rafii-El-Idrissi Benhnia Inmaculada Rivas-Jeremias Cesar Sotomayor Cristina Roca-Oporto Nuria Espinosa Carmen Infante-Domínguez Juan Carlos Crespo-Rivas Alberto Fernández-Villar Alexandre Pérez-González Luis Fernando López-Cortés Eva Poveda Ezequiel Ruiz-Mateos JoséMiguel Cisneros Sonsoles Salto-Alejandre Judith Berastegui-Cabrera Pedro Camacho-Martínez Carmen Infante-Domínguez Marta Carretero-Ledesma Juan Carlos Crespo-Rivas Eduardo Márquez JoséManuel Lomas Claudio Bueno Rosario Amaya JoséAntonio Lepe Jerónimo Pachón Elisa Cordero Javier Sánchez-Céspedes Manuela Aguilar-Guisado Almudena Aguilera Clara Aguilera Teresa Aldabo-Pallas Verónica Alfaro-Lara Cristina Amodeo Javier Ampuero María Dolores Avilés Maribel Asensio Bosco Barón-Franco Lydia Barrera-Pulido Rafael Bellido-Alba Máximo Bernabeu-Wittel Candela Caballero-Eraso Macarena Cabrera Enrique Calderón Jesús Carbajal-Guerrero Manuela Cid-Cumplido Yael Corcia-Palomo Juan Delgado Antonio Domínguez-Petit Alejandro Deniz Reginal Dusseck-Brutus Ana Escoresca-Ortega Fátima Espinosa Nuria Espinosa Michelle Espinoza Carmen Ferrándiz-Millón Marta Ferrer Teresa Ferrer Ignacio Gallego-Texeira Rosa Gámez-Mancera Emilio García Horacio García-Delgado Manuel García-Gutiérrez María Luisa Gascón-Castillo Aurora González-Estrada Demetrio González Carmen Gómez-González Rocío González-León Carmen Grande-Cabrerizo Sonia Gutiérrez Carlos Hernández-Quiles Inmaculada Concepción Herrera-Melero Marta Herrero-Romero Luis Jara Carlos Jiménez-Juan Silvia Jiménez-Jorge Mercedes Jiménez-Sánchez Julia Lanseros-Tenllado Carmina López Isabel López Álvaro López-Barrios Luis F.López-Cortés Rafael Luque-Márquez Daniel Macías-García Guillermo Martín-Gutiérrez Luis Martín-Villén JoséMolina Aurora Morillo María Dolores Navarro-Amuedo Dolores Nieto-Martín Francisco Ortega María Paniagua-García Amelia Peña-Rodríguez Esther Pérez Manuel Poyato Julia Praena-Segovia Rafaela Ríos Cristina Roca-Oporto Jesús F.Rodríguez María Jesús Rodríguez-Hernández Santiago Rodríguez-Suárez Ángel Rodríguez-Villodres Nieves Romero-Rodríguez Ricardo Ruiz Zida Ruiz de Azua Celia Salamanca Sonia Sánchez Víctor Manuel Sánchez-Montagut César Sotomayor Alejandro Suárez Benjumea Javier Toral 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:2

11The role of rhizobacteria in rice plants: Growth and mitigation of toxicity显示文摘Allelopathic compounds reduce the growth and productivity of upland rice plants, especially in consecutive plantations. The rhizobacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens BRM-32111 and Burkholderia pyrrocinia BRM-32113 have been recorded as growth promoters in rice. This study was developed to understand the effect of the application of rhizobacteria on upland rice plants in consecutive plantations. Experiments were conducted in a completely randomized design with four replications of four treatments: rice seed inoculated with P. fluorescens BRM-32111, rice seed inoculated with B. pyrrocinia BRM-32113(both sown on soil with rice residue), non-inoculated plants sown on soil with rice residue(control with residue(WR)), and non-inoculated plants on soil with no residue(NR). Roots and seedling growth were adversely affected by allelopathic compounds in control WR plants. Plants inoculated with rhizobacteria P. fluorescens BRM-32111 or B. pyrrocinia BRM-32113 induced an increase of 88% in biomass, 3% in the leaf area, 40% in length, 67% in root biomass, 21% in chlorophyll a, 53% in chlorophyll(a+b), 50% in rate of carbon assimilation(A), 227% in A/rubisco carboxylation efficiency(C_i) and 63% in water use efficiency(WUE) compared to control WR plants. These results indicate that rhizobacteria P. fluorescens BRM-32111 and B. pyrrocinia BRM-32113 increase the tolerance of rice plants to stress from allelochemicals. There are possible practical agricultural applications of these results for mitigating the effects of environmental allelochemistry on upland rice.Marcela C F Rêgo Aline F Cardoso Thayná da C Ferreira Marta C C de Filippi Telma F V Batista Rafael G Viana Gisele B da Silva 2018Journal of Integrative Agriculture2018,17,12:1
