1Micromechanics of substrate-supported thin films显示文摘The mechanical properties of metallic thin films deposited on a substrate play a crucial role in the performance of micro/nano-electromechanical systems(MEMS/NEMS)and flexible electronics. This article reviews ongoing study on the mechanics of substrate-supported thin films, with emphasis on the experimental characterization techniques,such as the rule of mixture and X-ray tensile testing. 2On the Loads for Strength Design of Cutterhead of Full Face Rock Tunnel Boring Machine显示文摘Cutterhead loads are the key mechanical parameters for the strength design of the full face hard rock tunnel boring machine(TBM).Due to the brittle rock-breaking mechanism,the excavation loads acting on cutters fluctuate strongly and show some randomness.The conventional method that using combinations of some special static loads to perform the strength design of TBM cutterhead may lead to strength failure during working practice.In this paper,a three-dimensional finite element model for coupled Cutterhead–Rock is developed to determine the cutterhead loads.Then the distribution characteristics and the influence factors of cutterhead loads are analyzed based on the numerical results.It is found that,as time changes,the normal and tangential forces acting on cutters and the total torque acting on the cutterhead approximately distribute log normally,while the total thrusts acting on the cutterhead approximately show a normal distribution.Furthermore,the statistical average values of cutterhead loads are proportional to the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)of cutting rocks.The values also change with the penetration and the diameter of cutterhead following a power function.Based on these findings,we propose a three-parameter model for the mean of cutterhead loads and a method of generating the random cutter forces.Then the strength properties of a typical cutterhead are analyzed in detail using loads generated by the new method.The optimized cutterhead has been successfully applied in engineering.The method in this paper may provide a useful reference for the strength design of TBM cutterhead.Meidong Han Zongxi Cai Chuanyong Qu 2019Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2019,32,6:2
3Elastic property determination of nanostructured W/Cu multilayer films on a flexible substrate显示文摘An experimental method for a single layer is extended to determine the elastic properties of nanostructured W/C u multilayers on a flexible substrate.The strain difference between the W/Cu-polyimide-W/Cu composite and the uncoated substrate,measured by dual digital image correlation,allows us to extract the effective Young's modulus of W/Cu multilayers(20 periods)equaling 216±13 GPa.Finite element method is then performed,which agrees well with the experiment and classical rule of mixture(ROM)theory demonstrating that the extension to multilayers is effective and reliable.The numerical analysis also interestingly shows that the strain difference is linearly related to the thickness ratio(W/Cu),periods and sublayer thickness,respectively.In contrast to ROM theory,this approach could potentially be used for the evaluation of properties and design of emerging/unknown functional multilayers,whether or not they are crystalline or amorphous.Wei He Meidong Han Shibin Wang Philippe Goudeau Eric Le Bourhis Pierre Olivier Renault 2019Acta Mechanica Sinica2019,35,6:0
