1Simulation procedure of unconfined seepage with an inner seepage face in a heterogeneous field显示文摘An inner seepage face phenomenon is given and a numerical simulation procedure has been developed.It may appear at the interface of two materials when an unconfined seepage flows from a porous media to a coarser porous media with a higher permeability.Inaccuracy and divergent problems may arise both in a saturated-only and in a variably saturated analysis while an inner seepage face is not simulated with a special procedure.The position of the seepage face is determined during the nonlinear iteration process and the flux of the inner seepage face nodes is transferred to the downstream side nodes.Validity and efficiency of the procedure are illustrated by the simulation of two dimensional steady state seepage examples of heterogeneous zoned dams which is usually used to validate algorithms.An analysis of a three-dimensional earth core rockfill dam is also presented here.The procedure can also be applied to general transient seepage problems.WU MengXi YANG LianZhi YU Ting 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:7
2Low-temperature NH_(3)-SCR of NO_(x) over MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2) catalyst:Enhanced activity and SO_(2) tolerance by modifying TiO_(2) with Al_(2)O_(3)显示文摘A series of TiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) composites with Al/Ti molar ratios of 0.1,0.2,and 0.4 were synthesized by a coprecipitation method and used as supports to prepare supported MnCeO_(x) catalysts by an impregnation method.The physico-chemical properties of the samples were extensively characterized by N_(2) physisorption,X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,scanning electron micro scopy and energy-dispersive Xray spectroscopy element mapping,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction,ammonia temperature programmed desorption,and in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy.The catalytic activity and resistance to water vapor and SO_(2) of the asprepared catalysts for the SCR of NO_(x) with NH_(3) were evaluated at 50-250℃ and GHSV of 80000 mL/(gcat·h).The results reveal that MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) exhibits higher activity and better SO_(2) tolerance than MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2).Combining with the characterization results,the enhanced activity and SO_(2) tolerance of MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) can be mainly attributed to higher relative concentrations of Mn4+and chemisorbed oxygen species,stronger reducibility,and larger adsorption capacity for NH_(3) and NO,which originate from the larger specific surface area and pore volume,higher dispersion of Mn and Ce species compared with MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2).Moreover,in situ DRIFTS was used to investigate the reaction mechanism,and the results indicate that the NH_(3)-SCR reaction over MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2) and MnCeO_(x)/TiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) takes place by both the E-R and L-H mechanisms.Gang Li Dongsen Mao Mengxi Chao Gehua Li Jun Yu Xiaoming Guo 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,7:6
3Model simulations of the annual cycle of the landfast ice thickness in the East Siberian Sea显示文摘The annual cycle of the thickness and temperature of landfast sea ice in the East Siberian Sea has been examined using a one-dimensional thermodynamic model. The model was calibrated for the year August 2012–July 2013, forced using the data of the Russian weather station Kotel'ny Island and ECMWF reanalyses. Thermal growth and decay of ice were reproduced well, and the maximum annual ice thickness and breakup day became 1.64 m and the end of July. Oceanic heat flux was 2 W.m–2 in winter and raised to 25 W.m–2 in summer, albedo was 0.3–0.8 depending on the surface type(snow/ice and wet/dry). The model outcome showed sensitivity to the albedo, air temperature and oceanic heat flux. The modelled snow cover was less than 10 cm having a small influence on the ice thickness. In situ sea ice thickness in the East Siberian Sea is rarely available in publications. This study provides a method for quantitative ice thickness estimation by modelling. 4Rice productivity and profitability with slow-release urea containing organic-inorganic matrix materials显示文摘Applying slow-release fertilizers is possible means for reducing nitrogen(N) loss in rice production. Matrix-based fertilizers represent novel slow-release fertilizers. To date, there is little consensus about the effect of combined addition of organic and inorganic matrix materials on rice production. We developed a slow-release urea fertilizer with selected organic and inorganic matrix materials. The study aimed to: i) determine the effect of the slow-release urea on rice yield, profit, and agronomic efficiency and ii) elucidate its possible mechanisms. A two-year field experiment was conducted during 2015–2016. Besides,laboratory experiments were conducted to determine the potential N loss risk. Three treatments were set up: control without N application(CK), regular urea treatment(RU, 150 kg N ha^(-1)), and slow-release urea treatment(SU, 150 kg N ha^(-1)). The results showed that rice biomass and grain yield were significantly higher in SU than in RU(P < 0.05). The higher panicle density in SU was largely responsible for the greater grain yield. Net profit in SU was US$450 ha^(-1), higher than in RU. Agronomic efficiency was significantly greater in SU than in RU(P < 0.05). Rice height, root area, leaf chlorophyll, leaf nitrate reductase activity, and leaf glutamine synthetase activity were larger in SU than in RU. Less N loss and greater soil N availability were partly responsible for the improvements in rice growth traits and physiological parameters in SU. 5Distinct immune signatures discriminate between asymptomatic and presymptomatic SARS-CoV-2^(pos)subjects显示文摘Increasing numbers of SARS-CoV-2-positive(SARS-CoV-2^(pos))subjects are detected at silent SARS-CoV-2 infection stage(SSIS).Yet,SSIS represents a poorly examined time-window wherein unknown immunity patterns may contribute to the fate determination towards persistently asymptomatic or overt disease.Here,we retrieved blood samples from 19 asymptomatic and 12 presymptomatic SARS-COV-2^(pos)subjects,47 age/gender-matched patients with mild or moderate COVID-19 and 27 normal subjects,and interrogated them with combined assays of 44-plex CyTOF,RNA-seq and Olink.Notably,both asymptomatic and presymptomatic subjects exhibited numerous readily detectable immunological alterations,while certain parameters including more severely decreased frequencies of CD107a^(low)classical monocytes,intermediate monocytes,non-classical monocytes and CD62L^(hi)CD8^(+)Tnaive cells,reduced plasma STC1 level but an increased frequency of CD4^(+)NKT cells combined to distinguish the latter.Intercorrelation analyses revealed a particular presymptomatic immunotype mainly manifesting as monocytic overactivation and differentiation blockage,a likely lymphocyte exhaustion and immunosuppression,yielding mechanistic insights into SSIS fate determination,which could potentially improve 5ARS-CoV-2 management.Shanhe Yu Caixia Di Shijun Chen Mingquan Guo Jiayang Yan Zhaoqin Zhu Li Liu Ruixue Feng Yinyin Xie Ruihong Zhang Juan Chen Mengxi Wang Dong Wei Hai Fang Tong Yin Jinyan Huang Saijuan Chen Hongzhou Lu Jiang Zhu Jieming Qu 2021Cell Research2021,31,11:4

8FoxM1 affects adhesive,migratory,and invasive abilities of human retinoblastoma Y-79 cells by targeting matrix metalloproteinase 2显示文摘Forkhead box protein M1(FoxM1)is an important transcription factor involved in various pathological processes including tumor metastasis.The changes of adhesive,migratory,and invasive abilities are considered as crucial events in tumor metastasis progression.In this study,we aimed to investigate the correlation between FoxM1 and retinoblastoma(Rb)metastasis and to explore the detailed mechanism.Wound healing,cell adhesion,and invasion assays showed that FoxM1 overexpression induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition in Y-79 cells and inhibited adhesion and subsequently promoted metastasis of Y-79 cells,while FoxM1 knockdown showed the opposite effects.A luciferase reporter assay and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay provided evidence that FoxM1 promoted matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP2)transcription by directly binding to and promoting MMP2 promoter.MMP2 knockdown by siRNA transfection attenuated cell metastasis of Y-79 cells induced by FoxM1 overexpression.Furthermore,the FoxM1-binding site mapped between-1167 and-1161 bp of the MMP2 promoter was identified.Our results suggested that the FoxM1-MMP2 axis plays an important role in Rb metastasis,which may be a novel target for designing therapeutic regimen to control Rb metastasis.Xue Zhu Mengxi Yu Ke Wang Wenjun Zou Ling Zhu 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,3:1
9Remarkably enhanced piezo-photocatalytic performance in BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructures for organic pollutant degradation显示文摘Introducing polarization field of piezoelectric materials is an effective strategy to improve photocatalytic performance.In this study,a new type of BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure catalyst was designed and synthesized to achieve high piezo-photocatalytic activity through the synergy of heterojunction and piezoelectric effect.The BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure shows a significantly enhanced piezo-photocatalytic degradation efficiency of organic pollutants compared with the individual BaTiO_(3) nanowires(NWs)and CuO nanoparticles(NPs).Under the co-excitation of ultrasonic vibration and ultraviolet radiation,the optimal degradation reaction rate constant k of polarized BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure on methyl orange(MO)dye can reach 0.05 min^(−1),which is 6.1 times of photocatalytic rate and 7 times of piezocatalytic rate.The BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure with remarkable piezo-photocatalytic behavior provides a promising strategy for the development of high-efficiency catalysts for wastewater purification,and it also helps understand the coupling mechanism between piezoelectric effect and photocatalysis.Chenye YU Mengxi TAN Chengdong TAO Yuxuan HU Chuanbao LIU Huimin MENG Yanjing SU Lijie QIAO Yang BAI 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,3:1

11Sealing functional ionic liquids in conjugated microporous polymer membrane by solvent-assisted micropore tightening显示文摘Porous organic polymers hold great promise for molecular sieving membrane separation.Although the inclusion of functional ionic liquid(IL)in the pores offers a facile way to manipulate their separation properties,the IL leaching during the separation process is difficult to avoid.Herein,we report a strategy to in-situ encapsulate ILs into the micropores of the conjugated microporous polymer membrane via a 6-min electropolymerization and further seal the aperture of the pores to prevent ILs leaching by solvent-assisted micropore tightening(SAMT).Upon screening the binding energy between different ILs and gas molecules,two ILs were selected to be incorporated into the membrane for CO_(2)/CH_(4) and O_(2)/N_(2) gas separations.The resultant separation performances surpass the 2008 Robeson upper bound.Notably,the ILs can be locked in the micropores by a facile high surface tension solvent treatment process to improve their separation stability,as evidenced by a 7-day continuous test.This simple and controllable process not only enables efficient and steady separation performance but also provides an effective strategy for confining and sealing functional guest molecules in the porous solids for various applications.Mengxi Zhang Anke Yu Xiangyu Wu Pengpeng Shao Xin Huang Dou Ma Xianghao Han Jing Xie Xiao Feng Bo Wang 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:0
12Decoding the inconsistency of six cropland maps in China显示文摘Accurate cropland information is critical for agricultural planning and production,especially in foodstressed countries like China.Although widely used medium-to-high-resolution satellite-based cropland maps have been developed from various remotely sensed data sources over the past few decades,considerable discrepancies exist among these products both in total area and in spatial distribution of croplands,impeding further applications of these datasets.The factors influencing their inconsistency are also unknown.In this study,we evaluated the consistency and accuracy of six cropland maps widely used in China in circa 2020,including three state-of-the-art 10-m products(i.e.,Google Dynamic World,ESRI Land Cover,and ESA WorldCover)and three 30-m ones(i.e.,GLC_FCS30,GlobeLand 30,and CLCD).We also investigated the effects of landscape fragmentation,climate,and agricultural management.Validation using a ground-truth sample revealed that the 10-m-resolution WorldCover provided the highest accuracy(92.3%).These maps collectively overestimated Chinese cropland area by up to 56%.Up to 37%of the land showed spatial inconsistency among the maps,concentrated mainly in mountainous regions and attributed to the varying accuracy of cropland maps,cropland fragmentation and management practices such as irrigation.Our work shed light on the promotion of future cropland mapping efforts,especially in highly inconsistent regions.Yifeng Cui Ronggao Liu Zhichao Li Chao Zhang Xiao-Peng Song Jilin Yang Le Yu Mengxi Chen Jinwei Dong 2024The Crop Journal2024,12,1:0
13Anomalous extensive landfast sea ice in the vicinity of Inexpressible Island, Antarctica显示文摘On 10 December 2017,a Chinese research vessel R/V Xuelong encountered an extensive area of landfast ice offshore Inexpressible Island(Antarctica)near the location where the fifth Chinese Antarctic research station is to be built.Using multi-source satellite images and weather data,we analyzed the ice conditions during the event season and reconstructed the development of landfast ice.Two stages in late September and early October were identified as contributing to the final ice extent.These two events are highly related to local-and large-scale weather conditions.Satellite images from 2003 to 2017 showed that four in fifteen years experienced severe landfast ice conditions,suggesting that it is not a rare phenomenon.ZHAI Mengxi ZHAO Tiancheng HUI Fengming CHENG Xiao LIUAobo YUAN Jiawei YU Yining DING Yifan 2019Advances in Polar Science2019,30,4:0
14An alternative splicing variant of mineralocorticoid receptor discovered in preeclampsia tissues and its effect on endothelial dysfunction显示文摘The pathophysiology of preeclampsia(PE)remains unclear.PE spiral artery remodeling dysfunction and PE offspring cardiovascular future development has been a worldwide concern.We collected placental and umbilical artery samples from normotensive and PE pregnancies.Mineralocorticoid receptor(MR)and its alternative splicing variant(ASV)expression and their biological effects on PE were examined.An MR ASV was found to be highly expressed in all PE samples and slightly expressed in about half of the normotensive samples(umbilical artery,~57.58%;placenta,~36.84%).The MR ASV expression was positively associated with blood pressure in both groups.The MR ASV protein changed the aldosterone-induced expression pattern of MR target genes related to ion exchanges and cell signaling pathways.The MR ASV can also impair the proliferation,migration,and tube formation ability of endothelial cells.These findings indicate that MR ASV in PE placenta plays a pathogenic role in PE pathophysiology,especially in endothelial dysfunction,and the existence of the MR ASV in PE umbilical artery provides a new direction in the study of PE offspring with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.Mengxi Guo Chengliang Zhou Gufeng Xu Lin Tang Yechun Ruan Ying Yu Xianhua Lin Dandan Wu Hao Chen Priscilla Yu Luyang Jin Yinyu Wang Yimei Wu Kamran Ullah Tanzil Ur Rahman Xinmei Liu Jianzhong Sheng Hsiao-Chang Chan Hefeng Huang 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3:0
15Beneficial Regulatory Effects of Sesamin on Intestinal Flora of Mice显示文摘The effects of sesamin on intestinal microflora of mice with normal diet were studied by in vitro animal feces anaerobic culture system.The results showed that treatment with sesamin could significantly change the intestinal flora structure of mice,increasing the abundance of probiotics Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium and inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria Enterococcus.High-throughput sequencing analysis showed that sesamin could affect the structure and composition of fecal microflora of mice,and the abundance of probiotics such as Bacillus and Bifidobacterium increased.Sesamin also could increase the expression of tight contiguous protein Occludin and Claudin-1 in colonic tissue of mice,which was benefit to the adhesion of probiotics.In conclusion,sesamin intervention could improve the composition and abundance of intestinal microorganisms in mice with normal diet,which had a beneficial regulatory effect on the intestinal health.Yu DENG Mengxi WANG Xiaogeng LIU Pan LIU Hong LEI 2022Agricultural Biotechnology2022,11,6:0
16A nanonewton-scale biomimetic mechanosensor显示文摘Biomimetic mechanosensors have profound implications for various areas,including health care,prosthetics,human‒machine interfaces,and robotics.As one of the most important parameters,the sensitivity of mechanosensors is intrinsically determined by the detection resolution to mechanical force.In this manuscript,we expand the force detection resolution of current biomimetic mechanosensors from the micronewton to nanonewton scale.We develop a nanocrack-based electronic whisker-type mechanosensor that has a detection resolution of 72.2 nN.We achieve the perception of subtle mechanical stimuli,such as tiny objects and airflow,and the recognition of surface morphology down to a 30 nm height,which is the finest resolution ever reported in biomimetic mechanosensors.More importantly,we explore the use of this mechanosensor in wearable devices for sensing gravity field orientation with respect to the body,which has not been previously achieved by these types of sensors.We develop a wearable smart system for sensing the body’s posture and movements,which can be used for remote monitoring of falls in elderly people.In summary,the proposed device offers great advantages for not only improving sensing ability but also expanding functions and thus can be used in many fields not currently served by mechanosensors.Chi Zhang Mengxi Wu Ming Li Lixuan Che Zhiguang Tan Di Guo Zhan Kang Shuye Cao Siqi Zhang Yu Sui Jining Sun Liding Wang Junshan Liu 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,4:0
