| 1 | Numerical investigation into the effect of backfilling on coal pillar strength in highwall mining显示文摘This paper attempts to quantify the effect of backfilling on pillar strength in highwall mining using numerical modelling. Calibration against the new empirical strength formula for highwall mining was conducted to obtain the material parameters used in the numerical modelling. With the obtained coal strength parameters, three sets of backfill properties were investigated. The results reveal that the behavior of pillars varies with the type and amount of backfill as well as the pillar width to mining height ratio(w/h). In case of cohesive backfill, generally 75% backfill shows a significant increase in peak strength, and the increase in peak strength is more pronounced for the pillars having lower w/h ratios. In case of noncohesive backfill, the changes in both the peak and residual strengths with up to 92% backfill are negligible while the residual strength constantly increases after reaching the peak strength only when 100%backfill is placed. Based on the modelling results, different backfilling strategies should be considered on a case by case basis depending on the type of backfill available and desired pillar dimension. | Mo S. | 2 | Endoscopic cyanoacrylate injection for the treatment of gastric varices in children显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate in treating acute bleeding of gastric varices in children.METHODS:The retrospective study included 21 children with 47 episodes of active gastric variceal bleeding who were treated by endoscopic injection of N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate at Asan Medical Center Children's Hospital between August 2004 and December 2011.To reduce the risk of embolism,each injection consisted of 0.1-0.5 mL of 0.5 mL N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate diluted with 0.5 or 0.8 mL Lipiodol.The primary outcome was incidence of hemostasis after variceal obliteration and the secondary outcome was complication of the procedure.RESULTS:The 21 patients experienced 47 episodes of active gastric variceal bleeding,including rebleeding,for which they received a total of 52 cyanoacrylate injections.Following 42 bleeding episodes,hemostasis was achieved after one injection and following five bleeding episodes it was achieved after two injections.The mean volume of each single aliquot of cyanoacrylate injected was 0.3 ± 0.1 mL(range:0.1-0.5 m L).Injection achieved hemostasis in 45 of 47(95.7%) episodes of acute gastric variceal bleeding.Eleven patients(52.4%) developed rebleeding events,with the mean duration of hemostasis being 11.1 ± 11.6 mo(range:1.0-39.2 mo).No treatment-related complications such as distal embolism were noted with the exception of abdominal pain in one patient(4.8%).Among four mortalities,one patient died of variceal rebleeding.CONCLUSION:Endoscopic variceal obliteration using a small volume of aliquots with repeated cyanoacrylate injection was an effective and safe option for the treatment of gastric varices in children. | Seak Hee Oh Seung Jin Kim Kang Won Rhee Kyung Mo Kim | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，9： | 4 |
| 3 | Metal stents placement for refractory pancreatic duct stricture in children显示文摘AIM To evaluate the use of fully covered self-expandable metal stents(FCSEMSs) for pancreatic duct strictures in children with chronic pancreatitis.METHODS Eight patients with refractory benign dominant stricture of the main pancreatic duct(MPD) were enrolled through chart reviews between December 2014 and June 2017 in a single center. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) with placement of a 6-mm FCSEMS with dual flaps was performed. Endoscopic removal of FCSEMSs was performed with a snare or rat-tooth forceps. All procedures were performed by a pediatric gastroenterologist. For the assessment of outcomes, technical and clinical success, adverse events, and stent patency were evaluated retrospectively.RESULTS The placement and removal of the FCSEMSs were successful in all 8 patients. Five patients were boys and 3 were girls. The median age at initial FCSEMS placement was 12 years(range, 5-18 years). The diameters of all the inserted stents were 6 mm, and the lengths were 4-7 cm. The median indwelling time was 6 mo(range, 3-10 mo). No pancreatic sepsis, pancreatitis, cholestasis, or mortality occurred. There was no proximal and distal migration. All subjects showed a patent stent. | 5 | Elucidating Ion Transport Phenomena in Sulfide/Polymer Composite Electrolytes for Practical Solid-State Batteries显示文摘Despite the enormous interest in inorganic/polymer composite solid-state electrolytes(CSEs)for solid-state batteries(SSBs),the underlying ion transport phenomena in CSEs have not yet been elucidated.Here,we address this issue by formulating a mechanistic understanding of bi-percolating ion channels formation and ion conduction across inorganic-polymer electrolyte interfaces in CSEs.A model CSE is composed of argyrodite-type Li_6PS_5Cl(LPSCl)and gel polymer electrolyte(GPE,including Li~+-glyme complex as an ion-conducting medium).The percolation threshold of the LPSCl phase in the CSE strongly depends on the elasticity of the GPE phase.Additionally,manipulating the solvation/desolvation behavior of the Li~+-glyme complex in the GPE facilitates ion conduction across the LPSCl-GPE interface.The resulting scalable CSE(area=8×6(cm×cm),thickness~40μm)can be assembled with a high-mass-loading LiNi_(0.7)Co_(0.15)Mn_(0.15)O_(2)cathode(areal-mass-loading=39 mg cm~(-2))and a graphite anode(negative(N)/positive(P)capacity ratio=1.1)in order to fabricate an SSB full cell with bi-cell configuration.Under this constrained cell condition,the SSB full cell exhibits high volumetric energy density(480 Wh L_(cell)~(-1))and stable cyclability at 25℃,far exceeding the values reported by previous CSE-based SSBs. | Kyeong‑Seok Oh Ji Eun Lee Yong‑Hyeok Lee Yi‑Su Jeong Imanuel Kristanto Hong‑Seok Min Sang‑Mo Kim Young Jun Hong Sang Kyu Kwak Sang‑Young Lee | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023，15，10： | 2 |
