1Achalasia and thyroid disease显示文摘AIM: To investigate some possible etiologies of achalasia by screening patients with achalasia for some autoimmune diseases such as thyroid disease. METHODS: We examined 30 known cases of achalasia (20 females, 10 males). Their age ranged 15-70 years. All of them were referred to our institute for treatment. Their sera were evaluated to detect some possible associations with rheumatoid disease, thyroid disease, inflammatory process, anemia, etc. RESULTS: Seven out of 30 patients (23%) had thyroid disease including four patients with hypothyroidism (13.3%), two patients with hyperthyroidism (6.6%), and one had only thyroid nodule but was in euthyroid state (3.3%). Two of these hypothyroid patients had no related clinical symptoms (subclinical) and two had clinical manifestations of hypothyroidism. There were no correlations between the intensity of thyroid diseases and the severity of achalasia symptoms. CONCLUSION: The etiology of achalasia is unknown although autoimmunity has been implicated and is supported by several studies. 2微波辅助燃烧法制备镁铝尖晶石纳米粉体的研究(英文)显示文摘Stoichiometric MgAl2O4 spinel nanoparticles were synthesized by microwave assisted combustion reaction from aluminium nitrate nanohydrate(Al(NO3)3.9H2O) and Sol-Gel prepared magnesium hydroxide(Mg(OH)2) in the presence of urea((NH2)2CO) as a fuel,in about 20 min of irradiation.X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies reveal that mi-crowave assisted combustion synthesis route yields single-phase spinel nanoparticles with larger crystalline size(around 75 nm) than other conventional heating methods.Scanning electronic microscope(SEM) images show nanoparticles with spherical shape and homogenous morphology.The surface area measurements(SBET) show crystals with 2.11 m2/g and 0.0033 mL/g pore volume.Leila Torkian Mostafa M Amini Zohreh Bahrami 2011无机材料学报2011,26,5:4
3Structural and Mechanical Properties of Al/B_4C Composites Fabricated by Wet Attrition Milling and Hot Extrusion显示文摘In this study,Al matrix composites reinforced by 7.5 and 15 vol.%B4C particles and also monolithic Al(Al without the B4C particles) were produced by wet attrition milling and subsequent hot forward extrusion processes.The microstructure of the composites,evaluated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),showed that the B4C particles were properly distributed in the Al matrix.Mechanical properties of the AI/B4C composites and monolithic Al were investigated by tensile,wear and hardness tests.The results revealed that with increasing content of B4C particles,the tensile strength and microhardness of composites increased but the elongation decreased.In addition,the tensile strength and microhardness of composite samples were higher than those of monolithic Al.The density measurements revealed that the density of composites decreased with increasing content of the B4C particles.Morteza Alizadeh Mostafa Alizadeh Rasool Amini 2013Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,8:2

10Survey of epidemiology and bacteriology features of cholera in Iran显示文摘Objective:To determine epidemiology and antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of Vibrio(V.) cholerae O1 biotype EL Tor in summer outbreak of 2008 in Iran.Methods:Stool samples were collected from patients suspected to have cholera admitted to hospitals and clinics.Specimens examined by conventional bacteriological methods.All isolates were sent to cholera reference laboratory for further confirmation,stereotyping and susceptibility testing.Results:A total of 220 patients were diagnosed as cholera.All cases confirmed by Iranian reference health laboratory.One hundred ninety nine of 220 V.cholerae serotypes were Inaba and 21 serotypes were Ogawa.All cases were reported from thirteen provinces.The majorities of cases were from Tehran,Qum and Zahedan provinces with 56,26 and 25 cases respectively.24(11%) of patients were under 15 years old and 196(89%) of patients were older than 15 years.149(68%) of patients were male and 71(32 %) were female.129(59%) of patients had Iranian nationality,79(36.5%) were from Afghanistan and,12(5%) were from Pakistan.All isolates were resistant to co-trimoxazole,nalidixic acid,furazolidone,and intermediate to chloramphenicol and were susceptible to tetracycline, ciprofloxacin,and erythromycin.Conclusion:Our study reveals that in recent outbreak caused by V.cholerae EL Tor serotype Inaba is the predominant serotype.All isolates are resistant to cotrimoxazole. nalidix acid and furazolidon.Mohammad Rahbar Mohsen Zahraei Aboulgasm Omidvarnia Mohammad Taqi Afshani Mostafa Glami Rogaeieh Sabourian Shahla Farsi Hosein gholami Saeid Mahdavi Parisa Islami Mona Mohammad Zadeh Massoud Hajia Azar Valipour Rana Amini 2010Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,1:0
11A new nanocluster polyoxomolybdate [Mo_(36)O_(110)(NO)_4(H_2O)_(14)]·52H_2O:Synthesis, characterization and application in oxidative degradation of common organic dyes显示文摘Polyoxomolybdate [Mo_(36)O_(110)(NO)_4(H_2 O)_(14)]·52 H_2 O was synthesized by a simple one-pot procedure through reducing an acidified mixture of Na_2 MoO_4·2 H_2 O and NH_2 OH·HCl. In order to create a heterogeneous catalyst system, the polyoxomolybdate was pillared with MgAl-LDH-NO_3 by direct ion exchange. These novel materials were carefully analyzed by various chemico-physical methods. The catalytic degradation of methylene blue(MB) and rhodamine B(RB) as common dyes in the presence of MgAl-LDH-1 nanoparticles with aqueous hydrogen peroxide, H_2 O_2, as an oxidizing agent was studied in aqueous solution at room temperature.
