1Self-lubricating bidirectional carbon fiber reinforced smart aluminum composites by squeeze infiltration process显示文摘Self-lubrication is one of the smart material properties required for producing components with enhanced wear resistance and low coefficient of friction.Bidirectional(BD)satin weave polyacrylonitrile(PAN)based carbon fiber(Cf)fabric preform was successfully infiltrated with Al 6061 alloy by squeeze infiltration process.The infiltrated composite shows uniform distribution of carbon fibers in the matrix with the elimination of porosities,fiber damage and close control on the formation of deleterious aluminum carbide(Al4C3)phase.Cf/Al composite exhibits remarkable wear resistance compared to unreinforced alloy due to the formation of self-lubricating tribolayer on the pin surface,which intercepts the contact of matrix metal to counter surface.The BD carbon fiber enhanced the hardness and compressive strength of the composite by restraining the plastic flow behavior of matrix.High resolution transmission electron microscopy shows the presence of Al2O3 and MgAl2O4 spinel,confirmed by EDS and SAD pattern,at the composite interface.The composite shows a lower density of 2.16 g/cm^3 which is a major ad vantage for weight reduction compared to the monolithic alloy(2.7 g/cm^3).K.M.Sree Manu L.Ajay Raag T.P.D.Rajan B.C.Pai Vijay Petley Shweta Namdeo Verma 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,11:4
2复方草药制剂减轻高草酸尿导致的氧化应激及预防草酸钙沉积和大鼠肾细胞损伤(英文)显示文摘INTRODUCTION:Cystone is an approved Ayurvedic polyherbal proprietary medicine used in India for various urinary disorders,including urolithiasis.AIM:To evaluate the protective effect of Cystone against hyperoxaluria-induced oxidative stress and calcium oxalate crystal deposition in urolithiasis.METHODS:Ethylene glycol(EG)(0.75%,V/V)in drinking water was given to rats for 28 days to induce urolithiasis with simultaneous treatment of Cystone(500 and 750 mg/kg body weight),and various urinary risk factors of urolithiasis and antioxidant markers were assessed.RESULTS:EG treatment lead to increased urine volume and lowered urinary pH,along with increased urinary excretion of oxalate,calcium and phosphate in untreated animals.These changes caused extensive calcium oxalate crystal deposition,increased lipid peroxidation and decreased activity of antioxidant enzymes(SOD,catalase and GPx)in the kidney of untreated rats.Cystone prevented these hyperoxaluric manifestations and inhibited calcium oxalate crystal deposition in treated rats at both doses.CONCLUSIONS:Cystone therapy provides protection against hyperoxaluria-induced oxidative stress and calcium oxalate crystal deposition by improving renal tissue antioxidant status and diuresis.Kiran S. 3HPLC analysis of camptothecin content in various parts of Nothapodytes foetida collected on different periods显示文摘Objective:To investigate the content of topoisomerase I-DNA inhibitor alkaloid camptothecin(CPT) from various parts of Nothapodytes foetida(N.foetida) collected from the month of October to February.Methods:The content of CPT was quantified in the methanolic extract of various parts of N.foetida using high performance liquid chromatography(UPLC).Quantification was performed with the regression analysis and the method was validated as per ICH guidelines. Results:The results revealed that maximum concentrations of camptothecin were found in root(2.62%) collected in the month of February followed by fruits(January,1.22%),stem(January,0.81%) and leaves(February,0.70%).Roots were found to have 3-fold higher concentration of CPT than the leaves and stem,while the fruits showed 2-fold higher concentration.Maximum concentration of camptothecin in fruits was observed in month of January,when they were not fully mature, which was 2-fold higher than that of young and fully mature fruits.Conclusions:These findings indicate that the synthesis of CPT differs in different parts of N.foetida and the content varies periodically.AG Namdeo A Sharma 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,5:2
