1Development of underground mine monitoring and communication system integrated ZigBee and GIS显示文摘An automated underground mine monitoring and communication system based on the integration of new technologies is introduced to promote safety and health,operational management and cost-effectiveness.The proposed system integration considering Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) assisted Geographic Information System(GIS) enables to monitor and control underground mining applications from surface office.Based on the capabilities of WSNs,ZigBee network is adapted for near real-time monitoring,ventilation system control and emergency communication in underground mine.ZigBee nodes were developed to sense environmental attributes such as temperature,humidity and gases concentration;switching ON and OFF ventilation fans;and texting emergency messages.A trigger action plan for monitored attributes above normal and threshold value limits is programmed in the surface GIS management server.It is designed to turn the auxiliary fans on remotely or automatically in orange condition and sending evacuation messages for underground miners in unsafe(red) condition.Multi-users operation and 3D visualisations are other successful achievements of the proposed system for the underground monitoring and communication.Moridi Mohammad Ali Kawamura Youhei Sharifzadeh Mostafa Chanda Emmanuel Knox Wagner Markus Jang Hyongdoo Okawa Hirokazu 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,5:11
2Effects of Ethephon and Abscisic Acid Application on Ripening-Related Genes in ‘Kohi' Kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis) on the Vine显示文摘The effects of ethephon and abscisic acid(ABA) application on ripening-related genes of pre-harvest ‘Kohi' kiwifruit(Actinidia chinensis) were studied to clarify the possibility of the fruit ripening on the vine. The fruits were treated on the vine at mature stage with 250 μL·L^(-1)ethephon or 100 μmol·L^(-1)ABA, and the expression levels of chlorophyll synthase(Ac CLS), chlorophyllase1(Ac CLH1), polygalacturonase(Ac PG), expansin(Ac EXP),β-amylase(Acβ-AM), sucrose synthase(Ac SUSY), MADS-box SEPALLATA4/RIPENING INHIBITOR-like(Ac SEP4/RIN) and FRUITFUL-like(Ac TDR4/FUL) genes were analyzed. The expression levels of Ac PG, Ac EXP, Acβ-AM, and Ac SUSY increased in the ethephon-treated fruit, but those of Ac CLH1 at 6and 9 days after treatment and Ac CLS decreased. Moreover, the expression levels of Ac SEP4/RIN and Ac TDR4/FUL, the latter of which is associated with ethylene biosynthesis, were higher in the ethephon-treated fruit. The expression level of each gene in ABA-treated fruit was not significantly different from that of the untreated control. 3Shear wave elastography in hepatitis C patients before and after antiviral therapy显示文摘AIM To investigate shear wave(SW) propagation velocity in patients with untreated hepatitis C and patients with sustained virological response(SVR). METHODS A total of 136 hepatitis C patients [85 patients who had not received antiviral therapy(na?ve group) and 51 patients who had received antiviral therapy and subsequently achieved SVR of at least 24 wk(SVR group)] and 58 healthy volunteers and outpatients without liver disease(control group) underwent evaluation of liver stiffness by SW elastography(SWE). Various parameters were evaluated in the chronic hepatitis C patients at the time of SWE.RESULTS SW propagation velocity(Vs) was 1.23 ± 0.14 m/s in the control group, 1.56 ± 0.32 m/s in the SVR group, and 1.69 ± 0.31 m/s in the na?ve group. Significant differences were seen between the control group and the SVR group(P = 0.0000) and between the SVR group and the na?ve group(P = 0.01417). All four fibrosis markers were higher in the na?ve group than in the SVR group. In the na?ve group, Vs was positively correlated with alanine aminotransferase(ALT)(r = 0.5372), α feto protein(AFP)(r = 0.4389), type Ⅳ collagen(r = 0.5883), procollagen Ⅲ peptide(P-Ⅲ-P)(r = 0.4140), hyaluronic acid(r = 0.4551), and Mac-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer(M2BPGi)(r = 0.6092) and negatively correlated with albumin(r =-0.4289), platelets(r =-0.5372), and prothrombinactivity(r =-0.5235). On multiple regression analysis, Vs was the most strongly correlated with ALT(standard partial regression std β = 0.4039, P = 0.00000). In the SVR group, Vs was positively correlated with AFP(r = 0.6977), type IV collagen(r = 0.5228), P-Ⅲ-P(r = 0.5812), hyaluronic acid(r = 0.5189), and M2BPGi(r = 0.6251) and negatively correlated with albumin(r =-0.4283), platelets(r =-0.4842), and prothrombin activity(r =-0.4771). On multiple regression analysis, Vs was strongly correlated with AFP(standard partial regression std β = 0.5953, P = 0.00000) and M2BPGi(standard partial regression std β = 0.2969, P = 0.03363).CONCLUSION In hepatitis C patients, liver stiffness is higher in treatment-na?ve patients than in those showing SVR. 4Wind Tunnel Study on Wind and Turbulence Intensity Profiles in Wind Turbine Wake显示文摘In recent years, there has been a rapid development of the wind farms in Japan. It becomes very important to investigate the wind turbine arrangement in wind farm, in order that the wake of one wind turbine does not to interfere with the flow in other wind turbines. In such a case, in order to achieve the highest possible efficiency from the wind, and to install as many as possible wind turbines within a limited area, it becomes a necessity to study the mutual interference of the wake developed by wind turbines. However, there is no report related to the effect of the turbulence intensity of the external flow on the wake behind a wind turbine generated in the wind tunnel. In this paper, the measurement results of the averaged wind profile and turbulence intensity profile in the wake in the wind tunnel are shown when the turbulence intensity of the external wind was changed. The wind tunnel experiment is performed with 500mm-diameter two-bladed horizontal axis wind turbine and the wind velocity in wake is measured by an I-type hot wire probe. 5A unique case of collagenous colitis presenting as protein-losing enteropathy successfully treated with prednisolone显示文摘A 76-year-old woman with a 5-mo history of recurrent diarrhea and generalized edema was admitted to our hospital. Colonoscopy revealed edematous mucosa,and histopathological examination was compatible with collagenous colitis. Protein leakage from the colon,particularly in the ascending portion,was identified on 99mTc-human serum albumin scintigraphy. Collagenous colitis associated with protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) without small bowel disease was diagnosed. Prednisolone treatment ameliorated diarrhea and hypoproteinemia. 8Remnant neuromuscular junctions in denervated muscles contribute to functional recovery in delayed peripheral nerve repair显示文摘Schwann cell proliferation in peripheral nerve injury(PNI)enhances axonal regeneration compared to central nerve injury.However,even in PNI,long-term nerve damage without repair induces degeneration of neuromuscular junctions(NMJs),and muscle atrophy results in irreversible dysfunction.The peripheral regeneration of motor axons depends on the duration of skeletal muscle denervation.To overcome this difficulty in nerve regeneration,detailed mechanisms should be determined for not only Schwann cells but also NMJ degeneration after PNI and regeneration after nerve repair.Here,we examined motor axon denervation in the tibialis anterior muscle after peroneal nerve transection in thy1-YFP mice and regeneration with nerve reconstruction using allografts.The number of NMJs in the tibialis anterior muscle was maintained up to 4 weeks and then decreased at 6 weeks after injury.In contrast,the number of Schwann cells showed a stepwise decline and then reached a plateau at 6 weeks after injury.For regeneration,we reconstructed the degenerated nerve with an allograft at 4 and 6 weeks after injury,and evaluated functional and histological outcomes for 10 to 12 weeks after grafting.A higher number of pretzel-shaped NMJs in the tibialis anterior muscle and better functional recovery were observed in mice with a 4-week delay in surgery than in those with a 6-week delay.Nerve repair within 4 weeks after PNI is necessary for successful recovery in mice.Prevention of synaptic acetylcholine receptor degeneration may play a key role in peripheral nerve regeneration.All animal experiments were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Tokyo Medical and Dental University on 5 July 2017,30 March 2018,and 15 May 2019(A2017-311C,A2018-297A,and A2019-248A),respectively.Leyang Li Hiroyuki Yokoyama Hidetoshi Kaburagi Takashi Hirai Kunikazu Tsuji Mitsuhiro Enomoto Yoshiaki Wakabayashi Atsushi Okawa 2020Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,4:2

12Establishment of induced pluripotent stem cells from aged mice using bone marrow-derived myeloid cells显示文摘If induced pluripotent stem(iPS)cells are to be used to treat damaged tissues or repair organs in elderly patients,it will be necessary to establish iPS cells from their tissues.To determine the feasibility of using this technology with elderly patients,we asked if it was indeed possible to establish iPS cells from the bone marrow(BM)of aged mice.BM cells from aged C57BL/6 mice carrying the green fluorescence protein(GFP)gene were cultured with granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor(GM-CSF)for 4 days.Four factors(Oct3/4,Sox2,Klf4 and c-Myc)were introduced into the BM-derived myeloid(BM-M)cells.The efficiency of generating iPS cells from aged BM cultured in GM-CSF was low.However,we succeeded in obtaining BM-M-iPS cells from aged C57BL/6 mice,which carried GFP.Our BM-M-iPS cells expressed SSEA-1 and Pou5f1 and were positive for alkaline phosphatase staining.The iPS cells did make teratoma with three germ layers following injection into syngeneic C57BL/6 mice,and can be differentiated to three germ layers in vitro.By co-culturing with OP9,the BM-M-iPS cells can be differentiated to the myeloid lineage.The differentiated BM-M-iPS cells proliferated well in the presence of GM-CSF,and lost expression of Nanog and Pou5f1,at least in part,due to methylation of their promoters.On the contrary,Tnf and Il1b gene expression was upregulated and their promoters were hypomethylated.Zhao Cheng Sachiko Ito Naomi Nishio Hengyi Xiao Rong Zhang Haruhiko Suzuki Yayoi Okawa Toyoaki Murohara Ken-ichi Isobe 2011Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2011,3,2:1
