| 1 | Effect of exposure to ambient PM2.5 pollution on the risk of respiratory tract diseases: a meta-analysis of cohort studies显示文摘The International Agency for Research on Cancer and the World Health Organization have designated airborne particulates,including particulates of median aerodynamic diameter < 2.5um(PM_(2.5)),as Group 1 carcinogens.It has not been determined,however,whether exposure to ambient PM_(2.5) is associated with an increase in respiratory related diseases.This meta-analysis assessed the association between exposure to ambient fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)) and the risk of respiratory tract diseases,using relevant articles extracted from PubMed,Web of Science,and Embase.In results,of the 1,126 articles originally identified,35(3.1%) were included in this meta-analysis.PM_(2.5)was found to be associated with respiratory tract diseases.After subdivision by age group,respiratory tract disease,and continent,PM_(2.5) was strongly associated with respiratory tract diseases in children,in persons with cough,lower respiratory illness,and wheezing,and in individuals from North America,Europe,and Asia.The risk of respiratory tract diseases was greater for exposure to traffic-related than non-traffic-related air pollution.In children,the pooled relative risk(RR) represented significant increases in wheezing(8.2%),cough(7.5%),and lower respiratory illness(15.3%).The pooled RRs in children were 1.091(95%CI:1.049,1.135) for exposure to<25 μg/m^3 PM_(2.5),and 1.126(95%CI:1.067,1.190) for exposure to > 25 μg/m^3 PM_(2.5).In conclusion,exposure to ambient PM_(2.5) was significantly associated with the development of respiratory tract diseases,especially in children exposed to high concentrations of PM_(2.5). | Qian Liu Cheng Xu Guixiang Ji Hui Liu Wentao Shao Chunlan Zhang Aihua Gu Peng Zhao | 2017 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2017,31,2: | 16 |
| 2 | Diversity and high nitrogenase activity of endophytic diazotrophs isolated from Oryza rufipogon Griff.显示文摘Diversity and nitrogenase activity of endophytic diazotrophs colonized in the wild rice Oryza rufipogon Griff grown in Boluo, Huilai County in Guangdong Province and Lingshui County in Hainan Province were studied. Thirty-seven isolates obtained from Oryza rufipogon were identified as putative endophytic nitrogen-fixing bacteria by ARA (acetylene reduction assay) test and further confirmed by PCR amplification of nifH gene fragments. All obtained strains have ARA activity and the same sized nifH gene fragments. Above the similarity level of 80%, the obtained isolates were assigned as Group Ⅰ to Ⅷ by the clustering of IS-PCR fingerprints. The SDS-PAGE whole-cell protein patterns were similar to those of IS-PCR fingerprints. Components and contents of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) were used to differentiate the representative strains (Ls13, Ls8, BL1, BL12, HL6, Ls4) from Group Ⅰ to Group Ⅵ. The six representative strains showed significant difference in contents and components of cellular fatty acid methyl ester. 16S rDNA sequencing analysis showed that strains of Group Ⅰ to Ⅶ were located in Enterobacteraceae (γ-proteobacteria). Strains of Group Ⅰ and Group II were closely related to Klebsiella sp.; Strain Ls8 of Group Ⅱ was a little far away from the genus of Pantoea (homology level 96% with Pantoea agglomerans), which may represent a new species or genus in Enterobacteraceae; Strains of Groups IV and V belonged to different Enterobacter sp.; Strain Ls4 and Ls 9 representing Group Ⅵ were close to Citrobacter amalonaticus with 98% sequence similarity; Strain Ls15 of Group Ⅶ showed 98% sequence identity with Pantoea sp.; Strains of Group Ⅷ were assigned to the genus Ideonella (β-proteobacteria). Based on the above results, endophytic diazotrophs isolated from O. rufipogon showed great diversity and some diazotrophs showed high nitrogenase activity with 42.52 μmol/mL·h C2H4. | 3 | Analysis of the Mechanism and Effectiveness of Lignin in Improving the High-Temperature Thermal Stability of Asphalt显示文摘The use of lignin,which is a by-product of the pulp and paper industry,in the development of asphalt binders would contribute to waste reduction,providing environmental,economic,and social benefits.In this study,samples of lignin-modified asphalt binder samples with different content of lignin(3%,6%,9%,12%,and 15%)and unmodified asphalt(control)were tested using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),dynamic shear rheometer(DSR),and thermogravimetry.The mechanism and effectiveness of lignin in improving the thermal stability of asphalt at high temperatures were analyzed.The FTIR analysis shows that no new characteristic absorption peak is seen in the infrared spectral of the lignin-modified asphalt binder samples,and some bands characteristic of lignin-related peaks gradually increased with the increase of lignin content.This suggests that the modification of lignin-modified asphalt binder samples was due to physical blending rather than chemical modification.The increase of lignin content in the lignin-modified asphalt samples increases the complex shear modulus G*of the samples and decreases the phase angles of the samples.Similarly,the anti-rutting performance(G*/sinδ)of the samples improves with the increase in lignin content,but this is not significant after any addition of lignin that exceeds 12%of asphalt mass.Thermal characterizations show that the thermal decomposition rate of lignin is lower,and its residual amount is higher compared to that of asphalt,which is a major reason for the improved stability of lignin-modified asphalt binders at high temperatures.The effect of lignin on the thermal stability of asphalt is dependent on both lignin content and temperature.It has a positive effect on the thermal stability of asphalt at high temperatures within the range of asphalt service temperature(25℃–200℃).Additionally,from the pyrolysis viewpoint,it was explained that excessive lignin addition is not beneficial to the thermal stability of asphalt at high temperatures,which is consistent with the DSR test result conducted high temperatures. | Cheng Cheng Weiwei Sun Bo Hu Guixiang Tao Chao Peng Yanjuan Tian Shujuan Wu | 2020 | Journal of Renewable Materials2020,8,10: | 2 |

| 6 | Photo-induced Ag modulating carbon dots:Greatly improved fluorescent properties and derived sensing application显示文摘Carbon dots(CDs)have been attracted much attention and widely studied due to their excellent fluorescence(FL)properties,better biocompatibility and outstanding photo/chemical stability.However,the disadvantage of lower quantum yield(QY)still limits its wide application.Herein,we reported a novel and convenient strategy to prepare photo-induced Ag/CDs(p-Ag/CDs)by irradiating the mixed Ag+and hydrophobic CDs(h-CDs)acetone solution with ultraviolet(UV)light.The obtained p-Ag/CDs exhibit a greatly enhanced FL emission together with a blue shift(460 nm)than h-CDs(520 nm).The QY of p-Ag/CDs is measured to be 51.1%,which is 10.4 times higher than that of h-CDs(4.9%),indicating that photo-induced Ag modulation can effectively improve the optical properties of CDs.The mechanisms for the FL enhancement and blue shift of h-CDs are studied in detail.The results prove that the greatly enhanced FL emission is from the generated Ag nanoparticles(AgNPs)by UV light irradiation based on metal-enhanced fluorescence(MEF),and the increased oxygen-contained groups in this process lead to the blue shift in CDs fluorescence.Interestingly,the p-Ag/CDs exhibit higher sensitivity and selectivity for sulfide ions(S2-)detection than that of h-CDs,which have a lower response to S2-.This work not only offers a novel strategy to improve the FL properties of materials but also endows them with new functions and broadens their application fields. | Yuwei Wang Ye Li Guixiang Yang Xiaofeng Yang Chenglu Yan Huaqiao Peng Huiyong Wang Juan Du Baozhan Zheng Yong Guo | 2024 | Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,1: | 0 |
