| 1 | Effect of cooling rates on the dendritic morphology transition of Mg–6Gd alloy by in situ X-ray radiography显示文摘The effect of cooling rate on the transition of dendrite morphology of a Mg-6 Gd(wt%) alloy was semiquantitatively analyzed under a constant temperature gradient by using synchrotron X-ray radiographic technique. Results show that equiaxed dendrites, including exotic 'butterfly-shaped' dendrite morphology, dominate at high cooling rate(>1 K/s). When the cooling rate decreases in the range of 0.5–1 K/s, the equiaxed-to-columnar transition takes place, and solute segregates at the center of two long dendrite arms(LDA) of the 'butterfly-shaped' dendrite. When the cooling rate is lower than 0.3 K/s, directional solidification occurs and the columnar dendritic growth direction gradually rotates from the crystalline axis to the thermal gradient direction with an increase in cooling rate. Meanwhile, interface moves faster but the dendrite arm spacing decreases. | 7 | Joint 3D facial shape reconstruction and texture completion from a single image显示文摘Recent years have witnessed significant progress in image-based 3D face reconstruction using deep convolutional neural networks.However,current reconstruction methods often perform improperly in self-occluded regions and can lead to inaccurate correspondences between a 2D input image and a 3D face template,hindering use in real applications.To address these problems,we propose a deep shape reconstruction and texture completion network,SRTC-Net,which jointly reconstructs 3D facial geometry and completes texture with correspondences from a single input face image.In SRTC-Net,we leverage the geometric cues from completed 3D texture to reconstruct detailed structures of 3D shapes.The SRTC-Net pipeline has three stages.The first introduces a correspondence network to identify pixel-wise correspondence between the input 2D image and a 3D template model,and transfers the input 2D image to a U-V texture map.Then we complete the invisible and occluded areas in the U-V texture map using an inpainting network.To get the 3D facial geometries,we predict coarse shape(U-V position maps)from the segmented face from the correspondence network using a shape network,and then refine the 3D coarse shape by regressing the U-V displacement map from the completed U-V texture map in a pixel-to-pixel way.We examine our methods on 3D reconstruction tasks as well as face frontalization and pose invariant face recognition tasks,using both in-the-lab datasets(MICC,MultiPIE)and in-the-wild datasets(CFP).The qualitative and quantitative results demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods on inferring 3D facial geometry and complete texture;they outperform or are comparable to the state-of-the-art. | Xiaoxing Zeng Zhelun Wu Xiaojiang Peng Yu Qiao | 2022 | Computational Visual Media2022,8,2: | 1 |
| 8 | The combination of methylenehydrofolate reductase C677T polymorphism screening and gastrointestinal tumor markers detection may be an early screening method for gastrointestinal cancer related to helicobacter pylori infection显示文摘Methyltetrahydrofolate reductase(MTHFR)is a key enzyme in folate metabolism,and its single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)site C677T may be associated with gastrointestinal cancer.However,the relationship between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and gastrointestinal tumor markers carcinoma embryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)and carbohydrate antigen 724(CA724)in Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is not specified.This study aims to identify the association between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and gastrointestinal tumor markers(CEA,CA199 and CA724)in H.pylori infection.The relationship between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and gastrointestinal tumor markers in 58 patients with H.pylori infection and 94 non-infected patients was studied.We found that TT genotype was a susceptibility factor of H.pylori infection,which was also associated with increased CEA and CA724 levels.Moreover,there was a negative additive interaction between MTHFR gene C677T polymorphism and CEA levels in H.pylori infection.Meanwhile,there were significant differences in CEA levels between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and H.pylori infection.The presence of T allele led to a decrease in CEA levels when ^(13)C urea breath test(^(13)C-UBT)was positive,while the presence of T allele led to an increase in CEA levels when ^(13)C-UBT was negative.Therefore,we suggest that healthy people should take MTHFR C677T polymorphism screening,combined with ^(13)C-UBT and gastrointestinal tumor markers detection,which can screen out the susceptible population of H.pylori,and help to detect gastrointestinal cancer in the early stage. | Xiaoxing Wu Bin Peng Kun Qian Wei Zhang Jiang Min Mingjun Zhang Fanling Zeng Ziwei Wang | 2021 | Genes & Diseases2021,8,6: | 1 |

| 10 | Testing a bell-shaped function for estimation of fully expanded leaf area in modern maize under potential production conditions显示文摘Accurate leaf area simulation is critical for the performance of crop growth models. Area of fully expanded individual leaves of maize hybrids released before 1995 (defined as old hybrids) has been simulated using a bell-shaped function (BSF) and the relationship between its parameters and total leaf number (TLNO). However, modern high-yielding maize hybrids show different canopy architectures. The function parameters calibrated for old hybrids will not accurately represent modern hybrids. In this study, we evaluated these functions using a dataset including old and modern hybrids that have been widely planted in China in recent years. Maximum individual leaf area (Y_0) and corresponding leaf position (X_0) were not predicted well by TLNO (R^2= 0.56 and R^2= 0.70) for modern hybrids. Using recalibrated shape parameters a and b with values of Y_0 and X_0 for modern hybrids, the BSF accurately predicted individual leaf area (R^2= 0.95–0.99) and total leaf area of modern hybrids (R^2= 0.98). The results show that the BSF is still a robust way to predict the fully expanded leaf area of maize when parameters a and b are modified and Y_0 and X_0 are fitted. Breeding programs have led to increases in TLNO of maize but have not altered Y_0 and X_0, reducing the correlation between Y_0, X_0, and TLNO. For modern hybrids, the values of Y_0 and X_0 are hybrid-specific. Modern hybrids tend to have less-negative values of parameter a and more-positive values of parameter b in the leaf profile. Growth conditions, such as plant density and environmental conditions, also affect the fully expanded leaf area but were not considered in the original published equations. | 13 | Intratumoral Bacteria Dysbiosis Is Associated with Human Papillary Thyroid Cancer and Correlated with Oncogenic Signaling Pathways显示文摘Emerging evidence suggests that microbial dysbiosis plays vital roles in many human cancers.However,knowledge of whether the microbial community in thyroid tumor is related to tumorigenesis remains elusive.In this study,we aimed to explore the microbial community in thyroid tissues and its contribution to papillary thyroid cancer(PTC).In parallel,we performed microbial profiling and transcriptome sequencing in the tumor and adjacent normal tissues of a large cohort of 340 PTC and benign thyroid nodule(BTN)patients.Distinct microbial signatures were identified in PTC,BTN,and their adjacent nontumor tissues.Intra-thyroid tissue bacteria were verified by means of bacteria staining,fluorescence in situ hybridization,and immunoelectron microscopy.We found that 17 bacterial taxa were differentially abundant in PTC compared with BTN,which included enrichment in PTC of the pathobionts Rhodococcus,Neisseria,Streptococcus,Halomonas,and Devosia,and depletion of the beneficial bacteria Amycolatopsis.These differentially abundant bacteria could differentiate PTC tumor tissues(PTC-T)from BTN tissues(BTN-T)with an area under the curve(AUC)of 81.66%.Microbial network analysis showed increased correlation strengths among the bacterial taxa in PTC-T in comparison with BTN-T.Immunefunction-corresponding bacteria(i.e.,Erwinia,Bacillus,and Acinetobacter)were found to be enriched in PTC with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.Moreover,our integrative analysis revealed that the PTC-enriched bacteria had a positive association with key PTC-oncogenic pathway-related genes,including BRAF,KRAS,IRAK4,CTNNB1,PIK3CA,MAP3K7,and EGFR.In conclusion,our results suggest that intratumor bacteria dysbiosis is associated with the thyroid tumorigenesis and oncogenic signaling pathways of PTC. | Shuang Yu Yanqiang Ding Xuejie Wang Siu Kin Ng Siting Cao Weixin Liu Zhuming Guo Yubin Xie Shubin Hong Lixia Xu Xiaoxing Li Jie Li Weiming Lv Sui Peng Yanbing Li Joseph J.Y.Sung Jun Yu Haipeng Xiao | 2023 | Engineering2023,,9: | 0 |
