| 10 | Two adaptive detectors for range-spread targets in non-Gaussian clutter显示文摘This paper addresses adaptive detection of range-spread target in spherically invariant random vector clutter. Based on the nonadaptive detectors of NSDD-GLRT and SDD-GLRT, two adaptive detectors named ANSDD-GLRT and ASDD-GLRT are devised by replacing the unknown normalized clutter covariance matrix with the sample covariance matrix based on the secondary data. The formulas of detection probability and false alarm probability are deduced. Moreover, the constant false alarm rate properties of both adaptive detectors are assessed and the inffuence of mismatched steering vector on detection probability is analyzed. The experimental results show that the adaptive detectors have an acceptable loss with respect to the nonadaptive counterparts. Furthermore, the ANSDD-GLRT converges much faster than the ASDD-GLRT, however, the latter rejects the misaligned signals more effectively. Both detectors perform well for the uniformly-distributedenergy target, but degenerate for the fluctuating targets. | 11 | Strategies for improving the storage performance of silicon-based anodes in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Silicon has attracted much attention as a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to its high theoretical capacity and rich resource abundance. However, the practical battery use of Si is challenged by its low conductivity and drastic volume variation during the Li uptake/release process. Tremendous efforts have been made on shrinking the particle size of Si into nanoscale so that the volume variation could be accommodated. However, the bare nano-Si material would still pulverize upon (de)lithiation. Moreover, it shows an excessive surface area to invite unlimited growth of solid electrolyte interface that hinders the transportation of charge carriers, and an increased interparticle resistance. As a result, the Si nanoparticles gradually lose their electrical contact during the cycling process, which accounts for poor thermodynamic stability and sluggish kinetics of the anode reaction versus Li. To address these problems and improve the Li storage performance of nano-Si anode, proper structural design should be applied on the Si anode. | 12 | CFAR assessment of covariance matrix estimators for non-Gaussian clutter显示文摘In the non-Gaussian clutter modeled as independent and identically distributed spherically invariant random vectors, three estimators of sample covariance matrix (SCM), normalized sample covariance matrix (NSCM) and the corresponding recursive estimator (NSCM-RE) are analyzed. Based on the uniform theorem, three corresponding adaptive normalized matched filters (ANMF) are evaluated from the standpoint of constant false alarm rate (CFAR) property. The theoretical results demonstrate that the SCM-ANMF is only CFAR to the normalized clutter covariance matrix (NCCM); the NSCM-ANMF is only CFAR to the clutter power level; and the NSCM-RE-ANMF with finite number of iterations is still not CFAR to the NCCM. To ensure CFAR property of ANMF, an adaptive estimator (AE) is devised. Moreover, with AE as the initialization matrix for the iterations, the AE-RE is proposed. With finite number of iterations, the corresponding AE-REANMF guarantees CFAR property to both of the NCCM and the clutter power level. | 15 | A unified algorithm for mobility load balancing in 3GPP LTE multi-cell networks显示文摘3GPP long term evolution (LTE) is a promising candidate for the next-generation wireless network, which is expected to achieve high spectrum efficiency by using advanced physical layer techniques and flat network structures. However, the LTE network still faces the problem of load imbalance as in GSM/WCDMA networks, and this may cause significant deterioration of system performance. To deal with this problem, mobility load balancing (MLB) has been proposed as an important use case in 3GPP self-organizing network (SON), in which the serving cell of a user can be selected to achieve load balancing rather than act as the cell with the maximum received power. Furthermore, the LTE network aims to serve users with different quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, and the network-wide objective function for load balancing is distinct for different kinds of users. Thus, in this paper, a unified algorithm is proposed for MLB in the LTE network. The load balancing problem is first formulated as an optimization problem with the optimizing variables being cell-user connections. Then the complexity and overhead of the optimal solution is analyzed and a practical and distributed algorithm is given. After that, the proposed algorithm is evaluated for users with different kinds of QoS requirements, i.e., guaranteed bit rate (GBR) users with the objective function of load balance index and non-GBR (nGBR) users with the objective function of total utility, respectively. An adaptive detector is derived for range-spread target based on a novel covariance matrix estimator. It is proved that the new detector is constant false alarm rate (CFAR) to both of the clutter covariance matrix structure and power level theoretically for match cases. The simulation results show that the new detector is almost CFAR for mismatch cases, and it outperforms the existing adaptive detector based on the sample covariance matrix. It also shows that the detection performance improves, as the number of pulses, the number of secondary data or the clutter spike increases. In addition, the derived detector is robust to different subsets, estimated clutter group sizes and correlations of clutter. | 19 | Lifetime maximization routing with network coding in wireless multihop networks显示文摘In this paper, we consider the lifetime maximization routing with network coding in wireless mul- tihop networks. We first show that lifetime maximization with network coding is different from pure routing, throughput maximization with network coding and energy minimization with network coding. Then we formulate lifetime maximization problems in three different cases of (i) no network coding, (ii) two-way network coding, and (iii) overhearing network coding. To solve these problems, we use flow augmenting routing (FA) for the first case, and then extend the FA with network coding (FANC) by using energy minimized one-hop network coding. After that, we investigate the influence of parameters of FANC, evaluate the performance of FANC with two-way and overhearing network coding schemes and compare it with that without network coding under two different power control models, namely, protocol and physical ones.
