1Hantavirus infection:a global zoonotic challenge显示文摘Hantaviruses are comprised of tri-segmented negative sense single-stranded RNA, and are members of the Bunyaviridae family. Hantaviruses are distributed worldwide and are important zoonotic pathogens that can have severe adverse effects in humans. They are naturally maintained in specific reservoir hosts without inducing symptomatic infection. In humans, however,hantaviruses often cause two acute febrile diseases, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS) and hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome(HCPS). 2Implications of stalagmite density for past climate change:An example from stalagmite growth during the last deglaciation from Wanxiang Cave,western Loess Plateau显示文摘The density of a stalagmite(WX42A)from Wanxiang Cave,Wudu County,Gansu Province,China,in the western margin of the Asian summer monsoon region,presents regular fluctuations in different deposition periods during the last deglaciation.Over long timescales,high-precision 230Th dating and high-resolution stalagmite density data indicate that the density-time series between 17644 a BP and 12758 a BP is quite similar to the stalagmite δ18O record which reflects Asian monsoon intensity.Strengthening/weakening(lighter/heavier stalagmite δ18O values)of the Asian monsoon is accompanied by increase/decrease in stalagmite density.Over short timescales,decrease in stalagmite density correlates to monsoon-retreat events such as the Inter-AllerФd Cold Period(IACP),Older Dryas(OD)and Inter-BФlling Cold Period(IBCP).Generally,this kind of decrease in stalagmite density reflects precipitation decrease with weakening of the Asian monsoon,which in turn slows cave dripwater rate and decreases crystal nuclei,leading to enlargement of calcite crystals,weakened biological activity and decreased soil pCO2 which increases the abundance of impure detrital materials in stalagmites.However,during the period of large amplitude reduction of precipitation and biological activity which resulted from extreme monsoon-retreat events,temperature variation would dominate fluctuation of stalagmite density.For example,stalagmite density increased suddenly when temperature dropped suddenly in the north Atlantic during Heinrich event 1(H-1).This may be caused by low seepage water temperature,more dissolved calcium carbonate,compact regular crystals forming under higher supersaturation,leading to the stalagmite increased density.Stalagmite density fluctuation sensitively recorded stalagmite growth history and environment,demonstrating that stalagmite density can be used as a proxy for paleoclimatic research.ZHANG DeZhong ZHANG PingZhong SANG WenCui CHENG Hai WU XiuPing YUAN Ye BAI YiJun WANG JiangLin JIA JiHong 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,34:7
3Modeling study of source contributions and emergency control effects during a severe haze episode over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area显示文摘In February 2014, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) area experienced a weeklong episode of heavy haze pollution. Cities such as Beijing(BJ) and Shijiazhuang(SJZ) issued heavy pollution alerts for the first time and took emergency control measures. This study employed the Nested Air Quality Prediction Modeling System(NAQPMS) to simulate and analyze the three-dimensional structure of the source contributions of PM2.5 in the BTH area during this pollution episode and quantitatively assessed the effects of the emergency control measures. The results showed that during the polluted period(February 19–26), surface PM2.5 mainly originated from local sources(48%–72%). In the entire BTH area, southern Hebei(SHB) represented the largest internal contribution(33%), while the main external contributions came from Shandong(SD)(10%) and Henan(HN)(4%). Vertically, the local contribution was constrained below the near-ground layer, and rapidly decreased with altitude. The regional transport path from SHB and Shanxi(SX) to BJ appeared at 0.5–1.5 and 1.5–2.5 km, with contributions of 32%–42% and 13%–27%, respectively. The non-local source regions for the BTH area were SD below 1 km and mainly SX and HN above 1 km. Compared to the non-polluted period(February 27–28), the contribution from regional transport increased during the polluted period, indicating the key role of regional transport in the pollution formation. The emergency control measures had a relatively large effect on NOx and SO2 concentrations, but a limited effect on PM2.5. The stronger regional transport during the polluted period may have weakened the effects of the local emergency control measures. 8Research Progress on the Pathogenesis of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome显示文摘Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS)is an acute natural focus epidemic disease characterized by fever,shock,hemorrhage and kidney injury caused by hantavirus infection.Hantavirus mainly infects human vascular endothelial cells,and induces extensive damage to small blood vessels and capillaries.Increased vascular permeability is the pathological basis for clinical manifestations of HFRS.Although domestic and foreign scholars have carried out many studies on the hantavirus pathogenesis,such as the immune pathological response induced by hantavirus,host genetics and apoptosis,thrombocytopenia,coagulation and fibrinolysis dysfunction,and the vascular endothelial damage,the pathogenesis of HFRS has not been fully elucidated and there is no effective drug yet.In-depth discussion of the molecular mechanism of HFRS and finding effective therapeutic drugs are still the research hotspots on the field of hantavirus/HFRS.This review will elaborate the research progress on the pathogenesis of HFRS in recent years.Hong Du Pingzhong Wang Xuefan Bai Jing Li Xiaoyan Wang Haifeng Hu Ying Zhang Hong Jiang Huanjun Shen Jiayi Zhan Jianqi Lian 2022Infectious Diseases & Immunity2022,2,4:1
