| 1 | Survey of recent progress in semantic image segmentation with CNNs显示文摘In recent years, convolutional neural networks(CNNs) are leading the way in many computer vision tasks, such as image classification, object detection, and face recognition. In order to produce more refined semantic image segmentation, we survey the powerful CNNs and novel elaborate layers, structures and strategies, especially including those that have achieved the state-of-the-art results on the Pascal VOC 2012 semantic segmentation challenge. Moreover, we discuss their different working stages and various mechanisms to utilize the structural and contextual information in the image and feature spaces. | 2 | Preparation of High-Strength Al–Mg–Si/Al_2O_3 Composites with Lamellar Structures Using Freeze Casting and Pressureless Infiltration Techniques显示文摘Lamellar porous alumina scaffolds with the initial solid loadings of 20, 25, and 30 vol% were prepared by freeze casting using 5 lm alumina powders. With the addition of 3 wt% Mg O–Al2O3–Si O2 nanopowders in a eutectic composition as sintering aid, the maximum compressive strength of the sintered scaffolds reached(64 ± 2) MPa after sintering at 1,773 K for 2 h. The lamellar porous scaffolds were then filled with a molten Al–12Si–10 Mg alloy(in wt%)by pressureless infiltration at 1,223 K in a N2 atmosphere, yielding the shell-like structure of the composites. | 3 | Manufacture of Nano-Sized Particle-Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites:A Review显示文摘Compared to the micro-sized particle-reinforced metal matrix composites, the nano-sized particle-reinforced metal matrix composites possess superior strength, ductility, and wear resistance, and they also exhibit good elevated temperature properties. Therefore, the nano-sized particle-reinforced metal matrix composites are the new potential material which could be applied in many industry fields. At present, the nano-sized particle-reinforced metal matrix composites could be manufactured by many methods. Different kinds of metals, predominantly Al, Mg, and Cu, have been employed for the production of composites reinforced by nano-sized ceramic particles such as carbides, nitrides, and oxides. The main drawbacks of these synthesis methods are the agglomeration of the nano-sized particles and the poor interface between the particles and the metal matrix. This work is aimed at reviewing the ex situ and in situ manufacturing techniques. Moreover, the distinction between the two methods is discussed in some detail. | 4 | Aging Behavior of Nano-SiC/2014Al Composite Fabricated by Powder Metallurgy and Hot Extrusion Techniques显示文摘The aging-hardening kinetics of powder metallurgy processed 2014Al alloy and its composite have been studied. The existence of n-SiC particulates leads to the increase of peak hardness. Interestingly, the aginghardening peak of the composite takes place at earlier time than that of the unreinforced alloy. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) studies indicated that the major precipitation phases are Al_5Cu_2Mn_3 and θ′(Al_2Cu). Besides, Ω phase appeared in both specimens at peak hardening condition, which has been rarely observed previously in aluminum metal matrix composites without Ag. Accelerated aging kinetics and increased peak hardness may be attributed to the higher dislocation density resulted from the mismatch of coefficients of thermal expansion between n-SiC and 2014Al matrix. | 5 | sEMG based quantitative assessment of acupuncture on Bell's palsy:an experimental study显示文摘Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese therapeutic method, recognized by western medicine as an important complementary therapy. However, the efficacy assessment of this traditional intervention has been mainly empirical rather than scientific. In this paper, we propose a surface electromyography(s EMG) based approach for quantitative assessment of acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The assessment is made by comparing the muscle activities of healthy with diseased ones. A feature-vector of four individual s EMG features is introduced for more comprehensive representation of muscle activity. A clustering technique is then proposed to calculate quantitative differences between the muscle activities of the healthy and diseased sides. A regressive model is also proposed to predict the recovery trend of a patient based on the quantitative assessments during his/her clinical acupuncture history. | 6 | Effect of Cr Content on the Compression Properties and Abrasive Wear Behavior of the High-Volume Fraction(TiC–TiB_2)/Cu Composites显示文摘The(TiC–TiB2)/Cu composites with 50 vol% Ti C–Ti B2 ceramic particles were successfully fabricated by the combustion synthesis and hot press consolidation in a Cu–Ti–B4C–Cr system. The effects of the Cr content on the microstructures, hardness, compression properties, and abrasive wear behaviors of the composites were investigated. The final products consist of only Cu, Ti C, and Ti B2 phases, and the ceramic particles are distributed uniformly in these composites. The size of the ceramic particles decreases with Cr addition.
