Based on the calculation method of ultimate strength of damaged ship hulls under non-symmetric bending, the effect of collision, grounding and explosion damage on the ultimate strength of ship hull is also analyzed. Then, residual strength index of damaged ship hulls is given based on extreme loads and ultimate strength calculations. 3Susceptibility Assessment of Landslides in Alpine-Canyon Region Using Multiple GIS-Based Models显示文摘This study explores a comparative study of three susceptibility assessment models based on remote sensing(RS) and geographic information system(GIS). The Lenggu region(China) was selected as a case study. At first, a landslide inventory map was compiled using data from existing geology reports, satellite imagery, and coupling with field observations. Subsequently, three models were built to map the landslide susceptibility using analytical hierarchy process(AHP), fuzzy logic(FL) and certainty factors(CF). The resulting models were validated and compared using areas under the curve(AUC). The AUC plot estimation results indicated that the three models are promising methods for landslide susceptibility mapping. Among the three methods, CF model has highest prediction accuracy than the other two models. Similarly, the outcome of this study reveals that streams, faults, slope and elevation are the main conditioning factors of landslides. Especially, the erosion of streams plays a key role of the landslide occurrence. These landslide susceptibility maps, to some extent, reflect spatial distribution characteristics of landslides in alpine-canyon region of southwest China, and can be used for land planning and hazard risk assessment.HU Man LIU Qiuqiang LIU Pengyu 2019Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2019,24,3:2

5Giant enhancements of high-order upconversion luminescence enabled by multiresonant hyperbolic metamaterials显示文摘Photonic nanostructures with resonant modes that can generate large electric field(EF) enhancements are applied to enhance light-matter interactions in nanoscale, bringing about great advances in both fundamental and applied science. However, a small hot spot(i.e., the regions with strong EF enhancements) and highly inhomogeneous EF distribution of the resonant modes usually hinder the enhancements of light-matter interactions in a large spatial scale. Additionally, it is a severe challenge to simultaneously generate multiple resonant modes with strong EF enhancements in a broadband spectral range, which greatly limits the capacity of a photonic nanostructure in boosting optical responses including nonlinear conversion, photoluminescence, etc. In order to overcome these challenges, we presented an arrayed hyperbolic metamaterial(AHMM). This AHMM structure is applied to simultaneously enhance the three-photon and four-photon luminescence of upconversion nanoparticles. Excitingly, the enhancement of the three-photon process is 1 order of magnitude larger than previous records, and for the enhancing four-photon process, we achieve an enhancement of 3350 times, greatly beneficial for overcoming the crucial problem of low efficiency in near infrared light upconversion. 11Opportunities and challenges of CD47-targeted therapy in cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Cancer immunotherapy has emerged as a promising strategy for the treatment of cancer,with the tumor microenvironment(TME)playing a pivotal role in modulating the immune response.CD47,a cell surface protein,has been identified as a crucial regulator of the TME and a potential therapeutic target for cancer therapy.However,the precise functions and implications of CD47 in the TME during immunotherapy for cancer patients remain incompletely understood.This comprehensive review aims to provide an overview of CD47’s multifaced role in TME regulation and immune evasion,elucidating its impact on various types of immunotherapy outcomes,including checkpoint inhibitors and CAR T-cell therapy.Notably,CD47-targeted therapies offer a promising avenue for improving cancer treatment outcomes,especially when combined with other immunotherapeutic approaches.The review also discusses current and potential CD47-targeted therapies being explored for cancer treatment and delves into the associated challenges and opportunities inherent in targeting CD47.Despite the demonstrated effectiveness of CD47-targeted therapies,there are potential problems,including unintended effects on healthy cells,hematological toxicities,and the development if resistance.Consequently,further research efforts are warranted to fully understand the underlying mechanisms of resistance and to optimize CD47-targeted therapies through innovative combination approaches,ultimately improving cancer treatment outcomes.Overall,this comprehensive review highlights the significance of CD47 as a promising target for cancer immunotherapy and provides valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities in developing effective CD47-targeted therapies for cancer treatment.QIUQIANG CHEN XUEJUN GUO WENXUE MA 2024Oncology Research2024,32,1:0

14End-to-End Paired Ambisonic-Binaural Audio Rendering显示文摘Binaural rendering is of great interest to virtual reality and immersive media. Although humans can naturally use their two ears to perceive the spatial information contained in sounds, it is a challenging task for machines to achieve binaural rendering since the description of a sound field often requires multiple channels and even the metadata of the sound sources. In addition, the perceived sound varies from person to person even in the same sound field. Previous methods generally rely on individual-dependent head-related transferred function(HRTF)datasets and optimization algorithms that act on HRTFs. In practical applications, there are two major drawbacks to existing methods. The first is a high personalization cost, as traditional methods achieve personalized needs by measuring HRTFs. The second is insufficient accuracy because the optimization goal of traditional methods is to retain another part of information that is more important in perception at the cost of discarding a part of the information. Therefore, it is desirable to develop novel techniques to achieve personalization and accuracy at a low cost. To this end, we focus on the binaural rendering of ambisonic and propose 1) channel-shared encoder and channel-compared attention integrated into neural networks and 2) a loss function quantifying interaural level differences to deal with spatial information. To verify the proposed method, we collect and release the first paired ambisonic-binaural dataset and introduce three metrics to evaluate the content information and spatial information accuracy of the end-to-end methods. 15Luminescent nanoparticle-arrays synthesized via polymer pen lithography显示文摘We report a high-throughput approach to generating lanthanide-doped upconversion nanoparticle(UCNP)arrays through polymer pen lithography(PPL),where instead of the expensive block co-polymer,two types of polymers are employed with one working as ink carrier,e.g.,polyethylene glycol-400(PEG-400)to facilitate smooth transfer from the tip to the substrate and the other,e.g.,polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP),as chelator to ensure successful patterning of metal ions.The strong coordination of PVP with rare earth ions(RE^(3+))is the key for weakening the interaction between RE3+ions and the carrier PEG-400 so that the good mobility of ink can be retained.Further experimental results have shown that besides PVP,small molecules with functional groups that can coordinate with RE^(3+)ions,such as oleic acid,can also serve the same role as PVP,which greatly enriches the ink library for PPL.Over 1 cm^(2)area arrays comprising individual UCNP can be reliably generated with characteristic upconversion luminescence.This strategy not only allows reliable production of individual UCNP arrays,it also paves new avenue to the precise synthesis of multifunctional NPs for lasing,imaging,encryption,and anticounterfeiting.Ping Wang Shuyi Bao Shuqian Qiao Ce Li Zhang Jiang Hao Song Yilin Wang Qiuqiang Zhan Ling Huang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:0
