1Thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transformation in rare earth–magnesium alloys:A critical review显示文摘Magnesium and its alloys are significant superior metallic materials for structural components in automobile and aerospace industries due to their excellent physicomechanical properties.The Mg–rare earth(RE)systems have attracted great interests because RE additions can improve both the deformability and the strength of Mg alloys through solid solution strengthening and precipitation hardening mechanisms.This paper focuses on the interface stability,together with thermodynamics and kinetics of nucleation and growth of the key phases and matrix phases in Mg–RE alloys.In this paper,the theory and recent advances on Mg–RE alloys,especially for the interface stability,thermodynamics and kinetics of nucleation and growth of the key phases and matrix phases,together with their relationships with micro-structures,and macroscopic properties,are reviewed.By combining the thermodynamics/kinetics integrated simulations with various advanced experimental techniques,“reverse”design of Mg–RE alloys starting from the target service performance is put forward as a kind of scientific paradigm with rational design.Qun Luo Yanlin Guo Bin Liu Yujun Feng Jieyu Zhang Qian Li Kuochih Chou 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,44,9:26
2Prognostic signif icance of HIF-2α/EPAS1 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the prognostic signif icance of HIF- 2α/EPAS1 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: Surgical specimens from 315 patients with HCC as well as 196 adjacent noncancerous lesions and 22 cases of normal liver tissue were investigated by immunohistochemistry (IHC) for HIF-2α/EPAS1 using a standard detection system. Correlations with clinicopathological factors, VEGF, microvessel density (MVD), and prognosis were analyzed. RESULTS: Immunoreactivity of HIF-2α/EPAS1 was positive in 69.5% of HCC, 55.6% of adjacent noncancerous tissue, and 0% of normal liver tissue. And it was significantly correlated with tumor grade, venous invasion, intrahepatic metastasis, necrosis, and capsule infiltration. Correlation analysis of HIF-2α/EPAS1 with angiogenic factor VEGF (P < 0.001), and MVD (P = 0.016) was also noted. HIF-2α/EPAS1 protein was less frequently expressed in low MVD cases, whereas a high rate of expression was noted in cases with both medium and high MVD (P = 0.042). By Kaplan-Meier analysis, strong HIF-2α/EPAS1 staining (> 50% of tumor cells) in HCC correlated with a shortened survival in patients (Cox's regression, P < 0.001, r = 3.699). CONCLUSION: We conclude that HIF-2α/EPAS1 expression may play an important role in tumor progression and prognosis of HCC. 3Role of Tenascin-X in regulating TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway in pathogenesis of slow transit constipation显示文摘BACKGROUND Chronic constipation is a gastrointestinal functional disease that seriously harms physical and mental health and impacts the quality of life of patients.Its incidence rate is 2%-27%.Slow transit constipation(STC)is a common type of chronic functional constipation,accounting for 10.3%-45.5%of such cases.Scholars have performed many studies on the pathogenesis of STC.These studies have indicated that the occurrence of STC may be related to multiple factors,such as dysfunction of the enteric nervous system,interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC)damage,and changes in neurotransmitters regulating intestinal peristalsis.AIM To investigate the role of Tenascin-X(TNX)in regulating the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of STC.METHODS This study included an experimental group and a control group.The experimental group included 28 patients with severe colonic STC,and the control group included 18 patients with normal colon tissues.Immunohistochemistry(IHC)was used to detect c-Kit,a specific marker of the ICC.Western blot,immunofluorescence,and IHC were used to detect the localization and expression of TNX and TGF-β/Smad.RESULTS IHC showed that the number of ICC with positive c-Kit expression was significantly reduced in the colon of STC patients(22.17±3.28 vs 28.69±3.53,P<0.05)and that the distribution was abnormal.Western blot results showed that c-Kit and Smad7 levels were significantly decreased in the colon of STC patients(c-kit:0.462±0.099 vs 0.783±0.178,P<0.01;Smad7:0.626±0.058 vs 0.799±0.03,P<0.01)and that TNX and Smad2/3 levels were higher in the STC group(TNX:0.868±0.028 vs 0.482±0.032,P<0.01).There was no significant difference in TGF-βbetween the two groups(0.476±0.028 vs 0.511±0.044,P=0.272).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the TNX protein exhibited a strong correlation with Smad2/3 and Smad7(P<0.05,|R|>0.8)and TGF-β(P<0.05,|R|=0.7).CONCLUSION The extracellular matrix protein TNX may activate the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway by upregulating the Smad 2/3 signaling protein and thereby induce slight or complete epithelial stromal cell transformation,leading to an abnormal distribution and dysfunction of ICC in the diseased colon,which promotes the occurrence and development of STC.Yi-Chao Zhang Bao-Xiang Chen Xiao-Yu Xie Yan Zhou Qun Qian Cong-Qing Jiang 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,7:16

5Kinetics of the hydrogen absorption and desorption processes of hydrogen storage alloys: A review显示文摘High hydrogen absorption and desorption rates are two significant index parameters for the applications of hydrogen storage tanks.The analysis of the hydrogen absorption and desorption behavior using the isothermal kinetic models is an efficient way to investigate the kinetic mechanism.Multitudinous kinetic models have been developed to describe the kinetic process.However,these kinetic models were de-duced based on some assumptions and only appropriate for specific kinetic measurement methods and rate-controlling steps(RCSs),which sometimes lead to confusion during application.The kinetic analysis procedures using these kinetic models,as well as the key kinetic parameters,are unclear for many researchers who are unfamiliar with this field.These problems will prevent the kinetic models and their analysis methods from revealing the kinetic mechanism of hydrogen storage alloys.Thus,this review mainly focuses on the summarization of kinetic models based on different kinetic measurement methods and RCSs for the chemisorption,surface penetration,diffusion of hydrogen,nucleation and growth,and chemical reaction processes.The analysis procedures of kinetic experimental data are expounded,as well as the effects of temperature,hydrogen pressure,and particle radius.The applications of the kinetic models for different hydrogen storage alloys are also introduced.Qian Li Xi Lin Qun Luo Yuʼan Chen Jingfeng Wang Bin Jiang Fusheng Pan 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,1:9

7Transanal surgery for obstructed defecation syndrome: Literature review and a single-center experience显示文摘Obstructed defecation syndrome(ODS) is a functional disorder commonly encountered by colorectal surgeons and gastroenterologists, and greatly affects the quality of life of patients from both societal and psychological aspects. The underlying anatomical and pathophysiological changes of ODS are complex. However, intra-rectal intussusception and rectocele are frequently found in patients with ODS and both are thought to play an important role in the pathogenesis of ODS. With the development of evaluation methods in anorectal physiology laboratories and radiology studies, a great variety of new operative procedures, especially transanal procedures, have been invented to treat ODS. However, no procedure has been proved to be superior to others at present. Each operation has its own merits and defects. Thus, choosing appropriate transanal surgical procedures for the treatment of ODS remains a challenge for all surgeons. This review provides an introduction of the current problems and options for treatment of ODS and a detailed summary of the essential assessments needed for patient evaluation before carrying out transanal surgery. Besides, an overview of the benefits and problems of current transanal surgical procedures for treatment of ODS is summarized in this review. 8A 12R long-period stacking-ordered structure in a Mg-Ni-Y alloy显示文摘A hitherto unreported long-period stacking-ordered(LPSO) phase, designated 12 R, was observed in a Mg_(80)Ni_5Y_(15)(at.%) alloy. Microstructure was investigated by electron diffraction and high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy. Results show that the 12 R has a trigonal lattice(a = b = 1.112 nm, c = 3.126 nm, α = β = 90°, and γ = 120°). Unit cell of the 12 R is consisted of three ABCAtype building blocks and each building block contains dominant Ni_6 Y_8-type building clusters. 10The Impact of Relative Humidity and Atmospheric Pressure on Mortality in Guangzhou, China显示文摘Objective Although many studies have examined the effects of ambient temperatures on mortality, little evidence is on health impacts of atmospheric pressure and relative humidity. This study aimed to assess the impacts of atmospheric pressure and relative humidity on mortality in Guangzhou, China. Methods This study included 213,737 registered deaths during 2003-2011 in Guangzhou, China. A quasi-Poisson regression with a distributed lag non-linear model was used to assess the effects of atmospheric pressure/relative humidity. Results We found significant effect of low atmospheric pressure/relative humidity on mortality. There was a 1.79%(95% confidence interval: 0.38%-3.22%) increase in non-accidental mortality and a 2.27%(0.07%-4.51%) increase in cardiovascular mortality comparing the 5th and 25 th percentile of atmospheric pressure. A 3.97%(0.67%-7.39%) increase in cardiovascular mortality was also observed comparing the 5th and 25 th percentile of relative humidity. Women were more vulnerable to decrease in atmospheric pressure and relative humidity than men. Age and education attainment were also potential effect modifiers. Furthermore, low atmospheric pressure and relative humidity increased temperature-related mortality. Conclusion Both low atmospheric pressure and relative humidity are important risk factors of mortality. 13Thermodynamic prediction of thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity in Mg–Zn–La/Ce system显示文摘Basic thermal properties and mechanical properties are critical parameters for the structural magnesium alloys.Solute atoms and second phases can improve mechanical properties,but are deteriorating the heat dissipation performance.Through experimental determination of alloys,it is found that REMg12 phases have fewer negative impacts on thermal diffusivities thanτ;phases.With the same intermetallic compound,the solute atom Zn have more negative influences on thermal diffusivities of Mg-Zn-La/Ce alloys than the content of second phases.In order to quantitatively evaluate thermal conductivities and further design Mg alloys with both high strength and high thermal conductivity,a calculated method is provided to describe the thermal diffusivity of alloys as a function of alloy composition and phase constitution.A set of parameters for expression of thermal diffusivity of Mg-Zn-La/Ce alloys were obtained through assessing the experimental data.The thermal conductivities of Mg-Zn-La/Ce system were predicted and agreed well with experimental values with calculation error of 1.6%and standard error of±3.0 W/(m K).The calculation method considering thermal diffusivity resistivity improves the calculation accuracy and would be physically significant.Tianci Xie Hui Shi Hongbin Wang Qun Luo Qian Li Kuo-Chih Chou 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,2:5
14EFFECTS OF ENTERAL AND PARENTERAL NUTRITION ON GASTROENTERIC HORMONES AND GASTRIC MOTILITY AFTER SUBTOTAL GASTRECTOMY显示文摘Objective To investigate the effects of enteral nutrition(EN)and parenteral nutrition(PN)on gastric motility and gastroenteric hormones after subtotal gastrectomy.Methods Forty-one patients underwent gastrectomy were randomly divided into EN group(n=20)and PN group(n=21).From the first postoperative day to the seventh day,patients received either EN(EN group)or PN(PN group)with isocaloric(84.9 kJ·kg-1·d-1)and isonitrogenous(0.11 g·kg-1·d-1)intake.Serum gastrin(GAS),plasma motilin(MTL),and plasma cholecystokinin(CCK)were measured on preoperative day,the first and seventh postoperative day.Electrogastrography(EGG)was measured on preoperative day and the seventh postoperative day.Results Compared with preoperation,blood GAS,MTL,and CCK levels of 41 patients decreased significantly on the first day after subtotal gastrectomy(P<0.001),but returned to the preoperative levels one week later.EGG after gastrectomy showed that gastric basal electrical rhythm was significantly restrained(P<0.001).On the seventh day after subtotal gastrectomy,plasma MTL and CCK levels in EN group were higher than those in PN group(P<0.05).There was no difference in GAS level between two groups.EGG in EN group was better than that in PN group postoperatively.Conclusions The levels of gastroenteritic hormones and the gastric motility decrease significantly after subtotal gastrectomy.In contrast with PN,EN can accelerate the recovery of MTL,CCK,and gastric motility after subtotal gastrectomy.Wei-ming Kang Jian-chun Yu Qun Zhang Mei-yun Ke Jia-ming Qian 2008Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2008,23,2:4
15Sexual Dysfunction among Chinese Nurses:Prevalence and Predictors显示文摘This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of and identify the factors influencing female sexual dysfunction(FSD) among Chinese nurses. A cross-sectional survey was conducted from March 2013 to May 2014 among 6 hospitals in Suzhou, China. In total, 2,030 married female nurses were included in the analysis. Data on the sociodemographic, lifestyle, and self-reported health status of the participants were collected, and the participants were asked to complete the Chinese version of the 19-item Female Sexual Function Index(FSFI) questionnaire. In total, 1,035(50.99%) participants were found to have FSD. Logistic regression analysis showed that increasing age and higher body mass index, lower salary, and poor/very poor self-reported health status were risk factors for FSD; however, regular social activity and physical exercise were protective factors for FSD. 16Enhanced grain refinement of Al-Si alloys by novel Al-V-B refiners显示文摘Al-V-B master alloy is promising for refining Al-Si alloys,yet its optimal composition with superior efficacy remains to be explored.In this work,the evolution of refining phases in the Al-10 Si/Al-V-B system with different V:B ratios was evaluated by thermodynamic calculations,based on which the Al-V-B refiners with V:B=1:1 and 5:1 were designed.Refining trails demonstrated that they could significantly reduce the grain size of Al-10 Si(wt.%)alloy from 1736 to 184-245μm with industrial addition amount.Detailed examinations results clarify that when V:B ratio is 1:1 the nucleation particle is(V,Al)B_(2),which has a VB_(2)-AlB_(2) core-shell structure and therefore presents the nucleation capability as AlB_(2) particle.When V:B ratio is as high as 5:1,the nucleation particle is pure VB_(2).Density functional theory(DFT)calculation indicates that(0001)VB_(2)/(111)α-Al interface has the lowest interfacial energy such that highest nucleation potency among other types of diboride/α-Al interfaces under consideration.The outcomes of this work provide fundamental guidance to develop superior V-B based refiners for Al-Si alloys.Chenxi Zhao Yang Li Jin Xu Qun Luo Ying Jiang Qiling Xiao Qian Li 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,35:4

18Understanding grain refining and anti Si-poisoning effect in Al-10Si/Al-5Nb-B system显示文摘Grain refinement is critical for fabricating high-quality Al-Si casting components in the application of automobile and aerospace industries,while the well-known Si-poisoning effect makes it difficult.Nbbased refiners offer an effective method to refine Al-Si casting alloys,but their anti Si-poisoning capability is far from being understood.In this work,the grain refining mechanism and the anti Si-poisoning effect in the Al-10 Si/Al-5 Nb-B system were systematically investigated by combining transmission electron microscope,first-principles calculations,and thermodynamic calculations.It is revealed that NbB_(2)provides the main nucleation site in the Al-10 Si ingot inoculated by 0.1 wt.%Nb Al-5 Nb-B refiner.The exposed Nb atoms on the(0001)NbB_(2)and(1-100)NbB_(2)surface can be substituted by Al to form(Al,Nb)B_(2)intermedia layers.In addition,a layer of NbAl_(3)-like compound(NbAl_(3)')can cover the surface of NbB_(2)with the orientation relation of(1-100)[11-20]NbB_(2/)/(110)[110]NbAl_(3)'.Both of the(Al,Nb)B_(2)and NbAl_(3)'intermedia layers contribute to enhancing the nucleation potency of NbB_(2)particles.These discoveries provide fundamental insight to the grain refining mechanism of the Nb-B based refiners for Al-Si casting alloys and are expected to guide the future development of stronger refiners for Al-Si casting alloys.Yang Li Ying Jiang Bin Liu Qun Luo Bin Hu Qian Li 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,6:4
19次全结肠切除逆蠕动盲直肠吻合对比全结肠切除回直肠吻合治疗顽固性慢传输便秘的外科疗效显示文摘背景:尽管顽固性慢传输便秘(STC)病例数不断增多,但目前鲜有比较不同术式对其治疗效果的报道。本研究旨在比较次全结肠切除逆蠕动盲直肠吻合(SC-ACRA)与全结肠切除回直肠吻合(TC-IRA)的远期手术疗效。方法:回顾性收集2005年1月至2015年1月间在本中心接受TC-IRA(35例)和SC-ACRA(20例)治疗的顽固性STC患者的临床资料。比较两组患者术后功能学结果。结果:两组患者年龄(P=0.655)、性别(P=0.234)、便秘病程(P=0.105)、排便频率(P=0.698)的差异均无统计学意义。中位随访72(12-120)个月,TC-IRA组与SC-ACRA组每日排便次数分别为3(1/6-7)和3(1/6-5)(P=0.578),克利夫兰便秘评分分别为2(0-20)和2(0-19)(P=0.454),克利夫兰失禁评分分别为0(0-5)和0(0-2)(P=0.333),胃肠生活质量指数分别为122(81-132)和120(80-132)(P=0.661)。两组术后并发症发生率的差异亦无统计学意义(37.1%vs 25.0%,P=0.285)。结论:TC-IRA和SC-ACRA均可有效治疗顽固性STC,两种术式远期疗效相当。Xiao-Yu Xie Kong-Liang Sun Wen-Hao Chen Yan Zhou Bao-Xiang Chen Zhao Ding Xue-Qiao Yu Yun-Hua Wu Qun Qian Cong-Qing Jiang Wei-Cheng Liu 2019Gastroenterology Report2019,7,6:3
