| 1 | TiO_2-doped Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration显示文摘Fenton reaction based on Fe2+-H2O2 system has been widely applied in water remediation, but the obvious drawbacks largely hinder its practical uses. Alternatively, heterogeneous nanomaterials with proper surface modification could be used as Fenton-like catalysts. Surface doping of Ti O2 could concentrate the pollutants surrounding the Fe3O4 catalyst, which might benefit the catalytic performance of Fe3O4. Herein, we reported that Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles(NPs) could be used as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration in near neutral environment, where the doping of Ti O2 on Fe3O4 surface dramatically improved the catalytic activity of Fe3O4 in Fenton-like reaction. Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 NPs catalyzed the decomposition of H2O2 to oxidize methylene blue without external energy supply, resulting in effective decoloration. Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 NPs showed high catalytic activity under various p H values and even in the presence of radical scavenger. More catalysts and H2O2 would facilitate the decoloration. At higher temperature, the decoloration became faster and more effective. | 2 | Association between thyroid hormone levels and frailty in the community-dwelling oldest-old: a cross-sectional study显示文摘Background:Changes in thyroid hormone levels are commonly recognized characters among the elderly,which were reported to potentially influence incident frailty.Therefore,we examined the cross-sectional associations of thyroid hormones(THs)with frailty as well as the five components characterizing frailty(fatigue,resistance,ambulation,number ofillnesses,and loss of weight)among the oldest-old.Methods:Four hundred and eighty-seven community-dwelling oldest-old from a local community in Haidian District,Beijing,participated in our recruitment campaign between April 2019 and May 2020.The primary outcomes were a definitive diagnosis of frailty according to the FRAIL scale(Fatigue,Resistance,Ambulation,Illnesses,Loss of weight)and a positive score for each frailty subdomain.Demographic information(age,sex,marital status,and educational status),comorbidities,and details on the participants lifestyles were recorded.Serum THs including free triodothyronin(fT3),triiodothyronine(T3),free thyroxine(fT4),and thyroxine(T4)and thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)levels were also measured at the beginning of our study.Logistic regressions were conducted to screen for potential risk factors for frailty and its subdomains.Results:Among the total 487 subjects at enrollment,60(12.23%)of them were diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism and 110(22.59%)of the total population scored positive for frailty.Logistic regression analyses adjusted for all potential confounders,showed that frailty was significantly associated with the serum TSH concentration(odds ratio[OR]:1.06),fT3 concentration(OR:0.54),and subclinical hypothyroidism score(OR:2.18).The association between fT4 and frailty was absent in our observational study.The fT3/fT4 ratio characterizing peripheral hormone conversion was also tested to be correlated with frailty.Conclusion:Subclinical hypothyroidism,higher TSH level,lower fT3 level,and decreased fT3/fT4 ratio were all associated with frailty assessed by the FRAIL scale among the community-dwelling oldest-old,suggesting a relevant role of thyroid function in aging.Future longitudinal studies are warranted to determine the casual relationship between thyroid dysfunction and frailty in the oldest-old. | Bo Guan Jiakun Luo Xin Huang Fan Tian Shasha Sun Yufei Ma Yan Yu Ruihan Liu Jian Cao Li Fan | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,16: | 2 |
| 3 | A facile solution processed ZnO@ZnS core–shell nanorods arrays for high-efficiency perovskite solar cells with boosted stability显示文摘Zinc Oxide(ZnO)has been extensively applied as electron transport material(ETM)in perovskite solar cells(PSCs)since the emergence of PSCs.However,some chemisorbed oxygen species on the surface of ZnO can cause the degradation of CH3NH3+(MA^(+))based perovskite.To avoid the destructive effect of ZnO,a facile solution strategy was proposed to produce a ZnS shell around the ZnO nanorods arrays(ZnO-NRs),i.e.ZnO@ZnS core-shell nanorods(ZnO-NRs@ZnS).The ZnO-NRs@ZnS cascade structure can not only facilitate carrier transport,but also enhance the stability of ZnO based PSCs.A power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 20.6%was finally yielded,which is the-state-of-the-art efficiency for PSCs with one-dimensional(1 D)ZnO electron transport materials(ETMs).Moreover,over 90%of the initial efficiency was retained for the unencapsulated device with ZnO-NRs@ZnS ETMs at 85℃for 500 h,demonstrating excellent stability.This work provides a simple and efficient avenue to simultaneously enhance the photovoltaic(PV)performance and stability of 1 D ZnO nanostructure-based PSCs. | Kun Chen Weijian Tang Yu Chen Ruihan Yuan Yinhua Lv Wenjuan Shan Wen-Hua Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10: | 2 |
| 4 | Size and shape controllable preparation of graphene sponge by freezing, lyophilizing and reducing in container显示文摘Graphene sponge(GS) is a porous 3D structure of graphene. Although hydrothermal reduction, chemical vapor deposition, solution reduction and high temperature annealing could be used for the preparation of GS, the size and shape cannot be well controlled. Herein, we reported a facile method to prepare GS under mild condition in a size and shape controllable way. Graphene oxide was lyophilized to form the spongy structure and reduced by steamy hydrazine hydrate to produce GS. The size and shape of GS prepared were nearly identical to that of the container. | 6 | Differences in protein composition and functional properties of egg whites from four chicken varieties显示文摘Egg white protein(EWP)is widely used in the food industry for its technological properties,which are affected by diet-and breed-related changes in its composition.Therefore,the objective of this study was to analyse the relationship between hen variety and the protein composition,functional characteristics,and physicochemical properties of egg white(EW)obtained from Black Bone(BB),Gushi(GS),Hy-Line(HY-LINE),and Harbin White(HW)chickens.The protein composition of EW was analysed by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC),while the secondary structure of EWP was assessed by Raman spectroscopy.BB and GS EWs had significantly higher ovalbumin content(183.38 and 168.56μg/mL,respectfully)than HY-LINE and HW EWs(148.15 and 147.44μg/mL,respectfully)(p<0.05).In accordance with the higher ovalbumin content,BB and GS EWs possessed significantly better foaming and gel properties,along with greater sulfhydryl group and disulfide bond content in the EWPs,than HY-LINE and HW EWs(p<0.05).Additionally,the ovotransferrin,ovomucin,and lysozyme contents also differed significantly among EWs from the four varieties(p<0.05).Further,the EWPs possessed significant differences in amino acid(AA)content,including essential AAs,those contributing to egg flavour,and those associated with children’s growth and preterm infant health.In conclusion,differences in protein composition likely led to dissimilar functional and physicochemical properties among EWs obtained from different hen varieties,which could provide a reference for food production and genetic breeding of laying hens. | Ruihan Yu Yuan Chi Yanqiu Ma Yujie Chi Lifeng Wang | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,46,2: | 0 |
| 7 | Adipose-derived stem cell/FGF19-loaded microfluidic hydrogel microspheres for synergistic restoration of critical ischemic limb显示文摘The efficacy of stem cell therapy is substantially compromised due to low cell survival rate and poor local retention post-delivery. These issues drastically limit the application of stem cells for ischemic limb therapy, which requires effective blood perfusion and skeletal muscle regeneration. Herein, based on microfluidic technology, an integrated stem cell and cytokine co-delivery system designed for functional ischemic limb salvage was constructed by first incorporating the myogenic cytokine, fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF19), into microspheres composed of methacrylate gelatin (GelMA). Then adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) were highly absorbed into the porous structure of the microspheres, overcoming the insufficient loading efficiency and activities by conventional encapsulation strategy. The fabricated ADSCs/FGF19@μsphere system demonstrated a uniform size of about 180 μm and a highly porous structure with pore sizes between 20 and 40 μm. The resultant system allowed high doses of ADSCs to be precisely engrafted in the lesion and to survive, and achieved sustained FGF19 release in the ischemic region to facilitate myoblast recruitment and differentiation and myofibrils growth. Furthermore, the combination of ADSCs and FGF19 exhibited a positive synergistic effect which substantially improved the therapeutic benefit of angiogenesis and myogenesis, both in vitro and in vivo. | 8 | The Analysis of the Correlation between SPT and CPT Based on CNN-GA and Liquefaction Discrimination Research显示文摘The objective of this study is to investigate themethods for soil liquefaction discrimination. Typically, predicting soilliquefaction potential involves conducting the standard penetration test (SPT), which requires field testing and canbe time-consuming and labor-intensive. In contrast, the cone penetration test (CPT) provides a more convenientmethod and offers detailed and continuous information about soil layers. In this study, the feature matrix based onCPT data is proposed to predict the standard penetration test blow count N. The featurematrix comprises the CPTcharacteristic parameters at specific depths, such as tip resistance qc, sleeve resistance f s, and depth H. To fuse thefeatures on the matrix, the convolutional neural network (CNN) is employed for feature extraction. Additionally,Genetic Algorithm (GA) is utilized to obtain the best combination of convolutional kernels and the number ofneurons. The study evaluated the robustness of the proposed model using multiple engineering field data sets.Results demonstrated that the proposed model outperformed conventional methods in predicting N values forvarious soil categories, including sandy silt, silty sand, and clayey silt. Finally, the proposed model was employedfor liquefaction discrimination. The liquefaction discrimination based on the predicted N values was comparedwith the measured N values, and the results showed that the discrimination results were in 75% agreement. Thestudy has important practical application value for foundation liquefaction engineering.
