| 2 | Superior performance and high service stability for Ge Te-based thermoelectric compounds显示文摘GeTe-based compounds have been intensively studied recently due to their superior thermoelectric performance,but their real applications are still limited so far due to the drastic volume variation that occurs during the rhombohedral–cubic phase transition,which may break the material or the material/electrode interface during service.Here,superior performance and high service stability for GeTe-based thermoelectric compounds are achieved by co-doping Mg and Sb into GeTe.The linear coefficient of thermal expansion before phase transition is greatly improved to match that after phase transition,yielding smooth volume variation around the phase transition temperature.Likewise,co-doping(Mg,Sb)in GeTe successfully tunes the carrier concentration to the optimal range and effectively suppresses the lattice thermal conductivity.A peak z T of 1.84 at 800 K and an average z T of 1.2 in 300–800 K have been achieved in Ge0.85Mg0.05Sb0.1Te.Finally,a Ni/Ti/Ge0.85Mg0.05Sb0.1Te thermoelectric uni-leg is fabricated and tested,showing quite good service stability even after 450 thermal cycles between 473 K and 800 K.This study will accelerate the application of GeTe-based compounds for power generation in the mid-temperature range. | Tong Xing Qingfeng Song Pengfei Qiu Qihao Zhang Xugui Xia Jincheng Liao Ruiheng Liu Hui Huang Jiong Yang Shengqiang Bai Dudi Ren Xun Shi Lidong Chen | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,5: | 4 |

In this system, a mathematical model, obtained by plentiful physical simulation experiments on Gleeble 1500 thermomechanical simulator, is introduced to describe the changes in microstructure and properties of steels. This system is proved to be reliable to simulate the thermal field and stress field as well as the microstructure of Cr12 steel during the forging process. | 4 | Comparison of Ten Potential Evapotranspiration Models and Their Attribution Analyses for Ten Chinese Drainage Basins显示文摘Potential evapotranspiration(EPET)is usually calculated by empirical methods from surface meteorological variables,such as temperature,radiation and wind speed.The in-situ measured pan evaporation(ETpan)can also be used as a proxy for EPET.In this study,EPET values computed from ten models are compared with observed ETpan data in ten Chinese river basins for the period 1961−2013.The daily observed meteorological variables at 2267 stations are used as the input to those models,and a ranking scheme is applied to rank the statistical quantities(ratio of standard deviations,correlation coefficient,and ratio of trends)between ETpan and modeled EPET in different river basins.There are large deviations between the modeled EPET and the ETpan in both the magnitude and the annual trend at most stations.In eight of the basins(except for Southeast and Southwest China),ETpan shows decreasing trends with magnitudes ranging between−0.01 mm d−1 yr−1 and−0.03 mm d−1 yr−1,while the decreasing trends in modeled EPET are less than−0.01 mm d−1 yr−1.Inter comparisons among different models in different river basins suggest that PETHam1 is the best model in the Pearl River basin,PETHam2 outperforms other models in the Huaihe River,Yangtze River and Yellow River basins,and PETFAO is the best model for the remaining basins.Sensitivity analyses reveal that wind speed and sunshine duration are two important factors for decreasing EPET in most basins except in Southeast and Southwest China.The increasing EPET trend in Southeast China is mainly attributed to the reduced relative humidity. | Ruiheng XIE Aihui WANG | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,9: | 2 |

In this work, polycrystalline VO2 samples were fabricated by spark plasma sintering of VO2 powder. Temperature dependences of their thermal conductivities were investigated using laser flash technique, and the thermal conductivity showed a significant decrease trend from metal-phase to insulator phase. Electrical transport properties were investigated to confirm both carrier and lattice contribution to the thermal conductivity. | 13 | Thermoelectric Transport Properties of R_yFe_3NiSb_(12)(R=Ba,Nd and Yb)显示文摘To evaluate the influence of Ni substitution on electrical transport properties, the thermoelectric transport properties of the p-type skutterudites R y Fe3 Ni Sb12(R = Ba, Nd and Yb) are systematically investigated from2.5 K to 800 K. By carefully modifying the filling fractions of the three fillers, Ba, Nd and Yb, the carrier concentration is precisely adjusted, which changes proportionally to the nominal value calculated by valence counting rule. The carrier concentration dependences of mobility and Seebeck coefficient represent two band contribution in the valence band, and the optimized carrier concentration for thermoelectric performance is between(5-9) 1020cm3. The lattice thermal conductivity of samples filled with rare-earth elements(Nd and Yb) are significantly lower as compared to Ba-filled, due to the lower resonant frequency and partial filling. Compared with Co substitution, Ni substitution tends to close the band gap, which results in heavier bipolar diffusion at high temperature for R y Fe3 Ni Sb12. However, due to the enhancement of the density of state, when the carrier concentrations are similar, R y Fe3 Ni Sb12possess higher thermal power and thus higher power factor than R y Fe2Co2Sb12 in the lower temperature range. | 14 | 3D collagen matrices modulate the transcriptional trajectory of bone marrow hematopoietic progenitors into macrophage lineage commitment显示文摘Physical signals provided by the extracellular matrix(ECM)are key microenvironmental parameters for the fate decision of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells(HSPC)in bone marrow.Insights into cell-ECM interactions are critical for advancing HSC-based tissue engineering.Herein,we employed collagen hydrogels and collagen-alginate hydrogels of defined stiffness to study the behaviors of hematopoietic progenitor cells(HPCs).Three-dimensional(3D)collagen hydrogels with a stiffness of 45 Pa were found to promote HPC maintenance and colony formation of monocyte/macrophage progenitors.Using single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq),we also characterized the comprehensive transcriptional profiles of cells randomly selected from two-dimensional(2D)and 3D hydrogels.A distinct maturation trajectory from HPCs into macrophages within the 3D microenvironment was revealed by these results.3D-derived macrophages expressed high levels of various cytokines and chemokines,such as Saa3,Cxcl2,Socs3 and Tnf.Furthermore,enhanced communication between 3D-macrophages and other hematopoietic clusters based on ligand-repair interactions was demonstrated through bioinformatic analyses.Our research underlines the regulatory role of matrix-dimensionality in HPC differentiation and therefore probably be applied to the generation of specialized macrophages. | Pan Zhang Linmu Xu Jingsong Gao Guangkui Xu Yanping Song Guang Li Jingjing Ren Yunjie Zhang Cheng Yang Yu Zhang Ruiheng Xie Nu Zhang Hui Yang | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,4: | 0 |
| 15 | Sinusoidally architected helicoidal composites inspired by the dactyl club of mantis shrimp显示文摘The impact region of the dactyl club of mantis shrimp features a rare sinusoidally helicoidal architecture,contributing to its efficient impact-resistant characteristics.This study aims to attain bioinspired sinusoidally architected composites from a practical engineering way.Morphological features of plain-woven fabric were characterized,which demonstrated that the interweaving warp and weft yarns exhibited a sinusoidal architecture.Interconnected woven composites were thus employed and helicoidally stacked to achieve the desired structure.Quasi-static three-point bending and low-velocity impact tests were subsequently performed to evaluate their mechanical performance.Under three-point bending condi-tion,the dominant failure mode gradually changed from fiber breakage to delamination with the increase in the pitch angle.Failure displacement and energy absorption of the heli-coidal woven composites were,respectively,43.89%and 141.90%greater than the unidirectional ones.Under low-velo-city impact condition,the damage area of the helicoidal woven composites decreased by 49.66%while the residual strength increased by 10.10%compared with those of the unidirectional ones,exhibiting better damage resistance and tolerance.Also,effects of fiber architecture on mechanical properties were examined.This work will shed light on future design of the next-generation impact-resistant architected composites. | Ruiheng Yang Huitian Wang Bing Wang Sheng Zhang Zhiping Huang Sha Yin | 2023 | International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2023,14,3: | 0 |

| 17 | Achieving 20% photovoltaic efficiency by manganese doped methylammonium lead halide perovskites显示文摘We report a transition metal such as manganese doped methylammonium lead halide perovskite(MA(Pb:Mn)I_(3)) solar cell with an power conversion efficiency(PCE) over 20%. The rational design and fabrication of MA(Pb:Mn)I3 lead to the enhancements of all the photovoltaic parameters. To incorporate Mn can effectively eliminate the trap-assist and bi-molecular recombination. The photo-absorption ability at shorter wavelengths(i.e., less than 500 nm) and charge carrier lifetime can be elaborated. More importantly, the existence of the Mn^(2+)-I~--Mn^(3+)motif contributes for the double exchange effect, giving rise to the charge/spin transport. By a combination of linearly and circularly polarized photo-excitations, we have explicitly determined the role of intrinsic spin–orbit coupling(SOC) in MA(Pb:Mn)I_(3). More dark states are expected to be available for the photocurrent generation. | 18 | The Research on Identification of Resistance to Sorghum Aphid [Melanaphis Sacchari(Zehntner)] Employing Indoor Artificial Infestation Technique显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to establish a quick and effective indoor identification method of sorghum resistance to aphid uninfluenced by seasons.[Method] Based on the indoor reproduction technique of aphids,the sorghum varieties with different resistant performances against aphids in fields were conducted inoculation test in the laboratory according to different seedling culture media,different survey periods of aphid quantity,different leaf ages for inoculation,different inoculation quantity of aphids and different aphid sizes. Three hundred sorghum materials were identified in both laboratory and field. [Result] The number of aphids per seedling on the fifth day after inoculation gave the best score of plant resistance to sorghum aphid by using the loam as the seedling culture media,and inoculating three different sizes of aphids in seedlings at two-leaf stage. Thus,the indoor identification technique of resistance to sorghum aphids was as follows:(1) sorghum seeds were sown in loam at room temperature of 22-26 ℃ and air humidity of 55%-75%;(2) three aphids with different sizes were inoculated in seedlings at two-leaf stage;(3) the number of aphids per seeding were surveyed on the fifth day after inoculation;(4) plant resistance to sorghum aphid was evaluated according to number of aphids per seedling on the fifth day after inoculation. The resistant grade of sorghum variety was evaluated according to distribution of aphid quantity per seedling in a 100-seedlings population. The resistance materials identified by indoor method at seedling stage had consistent performance with field identification. | 19 | Regulating the Localization of Intumescent Flame Retardant for Improving the Flame Retardancy of Ethylene-vinyl Acetate Copolymer Using Polyamide 6 as a Charring Agent显示文摘Polyamide 6 (PA6) was employed as a charring agent of intumescent flame retardant (IFR) to improve the flame retardancy of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). Different processing procedures were used to regulate the localization of IFR in the EVA matrix. Localizations in which IFR was dispersed in the PA6phase or in the EVA phase were prepared. The effect of the localization of IFR on the flame retardancy of EVA was investigated. The limited oxygen index (LOI), vertical burning (UL 94) and cone calorimeter test (CCT)showed that the localization of IFR in the EVA matrix exhibited a remarkable influence on the flame retardancy.Compared with EVA/IFR, a weak improvement in the flame retardancy was observed in the EVA/PA6/IFR blend withthe localization of IFR in the PA6 phase. When IFR was regulated from the PA6 phase to the EVA matrix,a remarkable increase in the flame retardancy was exhibited. The LOI was increased from 27.8%to 32.7%, and the UL 94 vertical rating was increased from V-2 to V-0. Moreover, an approximately 41.36%decrease in the peak heat release rate was exhibited.
