| 1 | First observation of mesospheric and thermospheric winds by a Fabry-Perot interferometer in China显示文摘A Fabry-Perot interferometer,funded by the Meridian Project in China,was deployed at the Xinglong station(40.2°N,117.4°E) of the National Astronomical Observatories in Hebei Province,China.The instrument has been operating since April 2010,measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds.The first observational data of winds at three heights in the mesosphere and thermosphere were analyzed,demonstrating the capacity of this instrument to aid basic scientific research.The wavelengths of three airglow emissions were OH892.0,OI 557.7,and OI 630.0 nm,which corresponded to heights of 87,98,and 250 km,respectively.Three 38-day data sets of horizontal winds,from April 5,2010 to May 12,2010,show clear day-to-day variations at the same height.The minimum and maximum meridional winds at heights of 87,98,and 250 km were-16.5 to 8.7 m/s,-24.4 to 15.9 m/s,and-43.6 to 1.5 m/s.Measurements of zonal winds were-5.4 to 7.6 m/s,2.3 to 23.0 m/s,and-22.6 to 49.3 m/s.The average data from the observations was consistent with the data from HWM93.The wind data at heights of 87 and 98 km suggest a semi-diurnal oscillation,clearly consistent with HWM93 results.Conversely there was a clear discrepancy between the observations and the model at 250 km.In general,this Fabry-Perot interferometer is a useful ground-based instrument for measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds at middle latitudes. | YUAN Wei XU JiYao MA RuiPing WU Qian JIANG GuoYing GAO Hong LIU Xiao CHEN SunZheng | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,35: | 18 |
| 2 | Practical performance and its efficiency of arsenic removal from groundwater using Fe-Mn binary oxide显示文摘A treatment unit packed by granular adsorbent of Fe-Mn binary oxide incorporated into diatomite (FMBO(1:1)-diatomite) was studied to remove arsenic from anaerobic groundwater without any pre-treatment or post-treatment. The raw anaerobic groundwater containing 35-45 μg/L of arsenic was collected from suburb of Beijing. Arsenic(III) constituted roughly 60%-80% of the total arsenic content. Approximately 7,000 bed volumes (ratio of efluent volume to adsorbent volume) treated water with arsenic concentration below 10 μg/L were produced in the operation period of four months. The regeneration of FMBO(1:1)-diatomite had been operated for 15 times. In the first stage, the regeneration process significantly improved the adsorption capacity of FMBO(1:1)-diatomite. With increased loading amount of Fe-Mn binary oxide, the adsorption capacity for arsenic decreased 20%-40%. Iron and manganese in anaerobic groundwater were oxidized and adsorptive filtrated by FMBO(1:1)-diatomite efficiently. The final concentrations of iron and manganese in efluents were nearly zero. | 4 | Species transformation and structure variation of fulvic acid during ozonation显示文摘The species transformation and structure variation of fulvic acid (FA) during ozonation were investi- gated in this study. The molecular weight (MW) distribution, the species of intermediate products and the variation of polar functional groups were studied by ultrafiltration, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and titration analyses respectively. The average MW of FA decreased signifi- cantly during ozonation. The amount of polar functional groups (carboxylic and phenolic (ph-OH) groups) per unit DOC (mol/kg C) increased with increasing ozonation time. Furthermore, GC/MS ex- periments demonstrated the formation of polar species (e.g., hexadecanoic acid, benzoic acid and oc- tadecanoic alcohol) and less-polar species (e.g., aliphatic hydrocarbons and butanedioic acid, bis(2-methylpropyl) ester). Electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements proved the presence of ·OH radicals in the ozonation system. Based on our experimental results, it appears that the oxidations by ozone molecule and ·OH radicals were responsible for the transformation of organics (FA and its oxi- dation products) during ozonation. | 5 | Trajectory prediction of ballistic missiles using Gaussian process error model显示文摘Ballistic Missile Trajectory Prediction(BMTP)is critical to air defense systems.Most Trajectory Prediction(TP)methods focus on the coast and reentry phases,in which the Ballistic Missile(BM)trajectories are modeled as ellipses or the state components are propagated by the dynamic integral equations on time scales.In contrast,the boost-phase TP is more challenging because there are many unknown forces acting on the BM in this phase.To tackle this difficult problem,a novel BMTP method by using Gaussian Processes(GPs)is proposed in this paper.In particular,the GP is employed to train the prediction error model of the boost-phase trajectory database,in which the error refers to the difference between the true BM state at the prediction moment and the integral extrapolation of the BM state.And the final BMTP is a combination of the dynamic equation based numerical integration and the GP-based prediction error.Since the trained GP aims to capture the relationship between the numerical integration and the unknown error,the modified BM state prediction is closer to the true one compared with the original TP.Furthermore,the GP is able to output the uncertainty information of the TP,which is of great significance for determining the warning range centered on the predicted BM state.Simulation results show that the proposed method effectively improves the BMTP accuracy during the boost phase and provides reliable uncertainty estimation boundaries. | Ruiping JI Yan LIANG Linfeng XU Zhenwei WEI | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,1: | 3 |
| 6 | Health-related quality of life among rural residents aged 45-69 years in Hua County, Henan Province, China: Results of ESECC Trial for esophageal cancer screening with endoscopy显示文摘Objective: There have been few population-based studies evaluating health related quality of life(HRQOL) in rural populations in China, and this study aimed to assess the current status of and risk factors for HRQOL in a general rural population in high risk region of esophageal cancer in China.Methods: From November 2015 to September 2016, 12,085 permanent residents aged 45–69 years from 257 villages in the Endoscopic Screening for Esophageal Cancer in China(ESECC) trial(Clinical Trials.gov:NCT01688908) randomly selected from Hua County, Henan Province, China were interviewed. The EQ-5 D-3 L,a generic measure of HRQOL, and a questionnaire were used to assess their HRQOL and potential risk factors.Results: Among all the participants, 30.62% of the participants reported problems in at least one EQ-5 D dimension. Pain/discomfort(25.52%) was the most frequently reported problem followed by anxiety/depression(7.97%), mobility(5.82%), usual activities(2.61%) and self-care(1%). These rural residents had a mean EQ-5 D index score of 0.948, and lower EQ-5 D index scores were associated with older age, female gender, lower levels of household annual per capita income, living alone, using shallow wells as main source of drinking water, exposure to family members smoking, testiness, unhealthy dietary habits, overweight or obesity, upper gastrointestinal cancer related symptoms and chronic diseases.Conclusions: Rural residents in China have a relatively low quality of life. Health promotion programs in this population should focus on the elderly, especially elderly women and the elderly living alone. Improving basic living circumstances and primary medical care services should be priorities. | 7 | Oral microbiome and risk of malignant esophageal lesions in a high-risk area of China:A nested case-control study显示文摘Objective:We aimed to prospectively evaluate the association of oral microbiome with malignant esophageal lesions and its predictive potential as a biomarker of risk.Methods:We conducted a case-control study nested within a population-based cohort with up to 8 visits of oral swab collection for each subject over an 11-year period in a high-risk area for esophageal cancer in China.The oral microbiome was evaluated with 16 S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)gene sequencing in 428 pre-diagnostic oral specimens from 84 cases with esophageal lesions of severe squamous dysplasia and above(SDA)and 168 matched healthy controls.DESeq analysis was performed to identify taxa of differential abundance.Differential oral species together with subject characteristics were evaluated for their potential in predicting SDA risk by constructing conditional logistic regression models.Results:A total of 125 taxa including 37 named species showed significantly different abundance between SDA cases and controls(all P<0.05&false discovery rate-adjusted Q<0.10).A multivariate logistic model including 11 SDA lesion-related species and family history of esophageal cancer provided an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of 0.89(95%CI,0.84-0.93).Cross-validation and sensitivity analysis,excluding cases diagnosed within 1 year of collection of the baseline specimen and their matched controls,or restriction to screenendoscopic-detected or clinically diagnosed case-control triads,or using only bacterial data measured at the baseline,yielded AUCs>0.84.Conclusions:The oral microbiome may play an etiological and predictive role in esophageal cancer,and it holds promise as a non-invasive early warning biomarker for risk stratification for esophageal cancer screening programs. | Fangfang Liu Mengfei Liu Ying Liu Chuanhai Guo Yunlai Zhou Fenglei Li Ruiping Xu Zhen Liu Qiuju Deng Xiang Li Chaoting Zhang Yaqi Pan Tao Ning Xiao Dong Zhe Hu Huanyu Bao Hong Cai Isabel Dos Santos Silva Zhonghu He Yang Ke | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,6: | 3 |
| 8 | Identification of cancer patients using claims data from health insurance systems: A real-world comparative study显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of identifying cancer patients by use of medical claims data in a health insurance system in China, and provide the basis for establishing the claims-based cancer surveillance system in China.Methods: We chose Hua County, Henan Province as the study site, and randomly selected 300 and 1,200 qualified inpatient electronic medical records(EMRs) as well as the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme(NCMS) claims records for cancer patients in Hua County People’s Hospital(HCPH) and Anyang Cancer Hospital(ACH) in 2017. Diagnostic information for NCMS claims was evaluated on an individual level, and sensitivity and positive predictive value(PPV) were calculated taking the EMRs as the gold standard.Results: The sensitivity of NCMS was 95.2%(93.8%-96.3%) and 92.0%(88.3%-94.8%) in ACH and HCPH,respectively. The PPV of the NCMS was 97.8%(96.7%-98.5%) in ACH and 89.0%(84.9%-92.3%) in HCPH.Overall, the weighted and combined sensitivity and PPV of NCMS in Hua County was 93.1% and 92.1%,respectively. Due to rapid urbanization and water scarcity, maintaining a stable and safe water supply has become a challenge to many cities, whereas a large amount of water is lost from the pipes of distribution systems. Water leakage is not only a waste of water resources, but also incurs great socio-economic costs. This article presents a comprehensive review on the potential water leakage control approaches and specifically discusses the benefits of each to environmental conservation. It is concluded that water leakage could be further reduced by improving leakage detection capability through a combination of predictive modeling and monitoring instruments, optimizing pipe maintenance strategy, and developing an instant pressure regulation system. | 12 | A rapid and sensitive UPLC–MS/MS method for quantitative determination of arformoterol in rat plasma, lung and trachea tissues显示文摘A rapid and sensitive ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC–MS/MS) method was developed and fully validated for determination of arformoterol in rat plasma, lung and trachea tissues. The chromatographic separation was performed on an Agilent XDB C8 column with gradient elution by using acetonitrile and 0.1% formic acid water. The method presented high sensitivity(LLOQ of 1.83 pg/mL for plasma and 3.90 pg/mL for lung and trachea tissue homogenates) and great linearity over the range of 1.83–458 pg/mL for plasma, 13.9–1560 pg/mL for lung and trachea tissue homogenates. No carry over effect and matrix effect were observed. The intra-and inter-day precision/accuracy were within ±15% at three quality control concentration levels. This robust method was successfully applied to the pharmacokinetic, lung and trachea tissue distribution study after inhalation administration of arformoterol tartrate inhalation solution(50 m g/kg).
