| 1 | 培养于生物降解支架膜内的胚胎干细胞可修复小鼠的梗塞心肌(英文)显示文摘我们以往的研究表明,直接在心肌梗塞(myocardial infarction,MI)动物的心脏缺血区注射胚胎干细胞(embryonic stem cells,ESCs)可以提高其心肌功能,干细胞组织工程学可以使组织再生、修复。本研究旨在观察将ESCs接种到生物降解膜内并移植到梗塞部位的效果。通过结扎小鼠左冠状动脉制作MI模型,将培养3d的带有小鼠ESCs的聚羟基乙酸膜(polyglycolic- acid,PGA)移植到心肌缺血及边缘区表面。实验小鼠分成4组:假手术组、MI组、MI+PGA组、MI+ESC组,移植操作 8周后检测血流动力学和心肌功能。MI组的血压和左心室功能显著降低。与MI组和MI+PGA组相比,MI+ESC组的血压和心室功能显著改善,存活率也显著增高,在梗塞区检测到GFP阳性组织,表明ESCs存活,并可能有心肌再生。以上结果表明,移植生物降解膜内的ESCs可修复小鼠梗塞区心肌细胞并提高心脏功能。将ESCs和生物降解材料联合运用可能为修复受损心脏提供一个新的治疗方法。 | 可庆恩 杨寅柯 Jamal S.RANA 陈玉 James P.MORGAN 萧永福 | 2005 | 生理学报2005,57,6: | 15 |
| 2 | Plant Communities and Factors Responsible for Vegetation Pattern in an Alpine Area of the Northwestern Himalaya显示文摘The study intended to describe the alpine vegetation of a protected area of the northwestern Himalaya and identify the important environmental variables responsible for species distribution.We placed random plots covering different habitats and altitude to record species composition and environmental variables.Vegetation was classified using hierarchical cluster analysis and vegetation-environment relationships were evaluated with Canonical Correspondence Analysis.Four communities,each in alpine shrub and meadows were delineated and well justified in the ordination plots.Indicator species for the different communities were identified.Maximum species richness and diversity were found in community IV among shrub communities and community II among the meadows.Studied environmental variables explained 61.5% variation in shrub vegetation and 59.8% variation in meadows.Soil variables explained higher variability (~35%) than spatial variables (~21%) in both shrubs and meadows.Altitude,among the spatial variables and carbon/nitrogen ratio and nitrogen among the soil variables explained maximum variation.About 40% variations left unexplained.Latitude and species diversity among the other variables had significant correlation with ordination axes.Study showed that altitude and C/N ratio played a significant role in species composition.Extensive sampling efforts and inclusion of other non-studied variables are also suggested for better understanding. | Man S.RANA S.S.SAMANT Y.S.RAWAT | 2011 | Journal of Mountain Science2011,8,6: | 2 |
| 3 | Arterial pH,bicarbonate levels and base deficit at presentation as markers of predicting mortality in acute pancreatitis:a single-centre prospective study显示文摘Background.Arterial blood gas(ABG)parameters such as pH form part of multi-parameter scoring systems for predicting severe acute pancreatitis;however,literature on detailed evaluation of ABG alone in this context is scarce.Methods.Patients with acute pancreatitis presenting to our unit between January 2012 and November 2013 were prospectively studied.ABG analysis was done at admission and development of organ failure,any need for intervention,and mortality were noted.The association between various parameters of ABG analysis and the development of organ failure or local complications,need for interventions(endoscopic/radiological/surgical)and mortality were analysed.Results.Two hundred and five patients(mean age:39.33-13.85 years;61.0%males)were prospectively studied.The aetiology of acute pancreatitis was alcohol in 93 patients(45.4%)and gall stone disease in 73(35.6%).Organ failure developed in 71.2%patients and 83.9%had local complications.In 18%of patients,endoscopic/radiological/surgical interventions were needed and 14.6%died.The patients(n=35)with metabolic acidosis(pH<7.35)suffered higher frequency of organ failure,need for interventions and mortality.Patients with low arterial bicarbonate levels,as well as higher base deficit,also displayed higher frequency of organ failure,need for interventions and mortality.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves for pH<7.35,bicarbonate<22 meq/L and base deficit of>4 meq/L for prediction of mortality were 0.771(95%CI:0.664–0.878),0.707(95%CI:0.622–0.791)and 0.780(95%CI:0.693–0.867),respectively.Conclusion.Arterial pH,bicarbonate levels,and base deficit at presentation are useful early markers for predicting adverse outcome in acute pancreatitis. | Vishal Sharma Thingbaijam Shanti Devi Ravi Sharma Puneet Chhabra Rajesh Gupta Surinder S.Rana Deepak K.Bhasin | 2014 | Gastroenterology Report2014,2,3: | 1 |

| 6 | Synthesis and characterization of rare earth metal doped tungsten trioxide photocatalyst for degradation of Rhodamine B dye显示文摘Nowadays,it is concern for researchers that due to high recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers in tungsten trioxide(WO_(3)) nanoparticles,the future applications are limited in the field of photocatalysis.Herein we attempt to synthesize tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with different doping concentrations of lanthanum i.e.2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%.The synthesized samples were characterized by using various characterization techniques:X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence spectra(PL),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and UV-Vis spectroscopy.WO_(3) retains its monoclinic structure even after doping which was confirmed by XRD analysis.FTIR helps to descry functional groups present in the samples.The size of nanoparticles was calculated by using TEM.EDX confirms the absence of any impurity in the synthesized samples.Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of a large number of imperfections induced in the lattice of WO_(3).The rate of recombination was analyzed by photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy and is minimum in 4 wt% doping of lanthanum.The optical bandgap was calculated using UV-Vis spectroscopy and becomes narrow along with the doping concentrations.Intriguingly,it is found that doping of La in WO_(3) has considerably ameliorate the photocatalytic activity by reducing rate of recombination due to the trapping of electrons by defects introduced in the lattice.Photocatalytic decolorization of Rhodamine B(RhB) dye was performed and the values of c/c_0 and rate constant(k) confirm that the 4 wt% doping shows maximum degradation efficiency.The kinetic study for photodegradation of Rhodamine B was done by using various kinetic models and results show that the reaction follows first order kinetics very well.Therefore,optimum doping of lanthanum increases the decolorization ability of WO_(3) towards RhB dye. | Pooja Nehra Amita Khatri Anil Kumar Satyendra Singh Pawan S.Rana | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,9: | 1 |

Influence of pertinent physical parameters on normal, tangential velocity profiles and temperature are expressed through graphs. | 9 | New early Eocene vertebrate assemblage from western India reveals a mixed fauna of European and Gondwana affinities显示文摘The Ypresian Cambay Shale Formation at Vastan and Mangrol lignite mines in Gujarat, western India, has yielded a rich vertebrate fauna with numerous taxa of European affinities. Here we report a new,approximately contemporary vertebrate assemblage from two fossiliferous layers in the nearby mine of Tadkeshwar. These layers have yielded a similar mammal fauna with the co-occurrence of the perissodactyl-like cambaytheriid Cambaytherium thewissi, the adapoid primates Marcgodinotius indicus and cf. Asiadapis cambayensis, and the hyaenodontid Indohyaenodon raoi. The presence of these species in both Vastan and Tadkeshwar mines and at different levels suggests that the deposits between the two major lignite seams represent a single land mammal age. Apart from the aforementioned species there is a new, smaller species of Cambaytherium, and a new genus and species of esthonychid tillodont. This fauna also contains the first large early Eocene vertebrates from India, including an unidentified Coryphodon-like pantodont, a dyrosaurid crocodyliform and a new giant madtsoiid snake. Among the Tadkeshwar vertebrates several taxa are of Gondwana affinities, such as Pelomedusoides turtles, dyrosaurids, and large madtsoiids, attesting that the early Eocene was a crucial period in India during which Laurasian taxa of European affinities co-existed with relict taxa from Gondwana before the India-Asia collision. Our results suggest that terrestrial faunas could have dispersed to or from Europe during episodes of contact between the Indian subcontinent and different island blocks along the northern margin of the Neotethys, such as the Kohistane Ladakh island-arc system. Gondwana taxa might represent remnants of ghost lineages shared with Madagascar, which reached the Indian subcontinent during the late Cretaceous; alternatively they might have come from North Africa and passed along the southern margin of the Neotethys to reach the Indian subcontinent. | 10 | Extraction,Utilization Pattern and Prioritization of Fuel Resources for Conservation in Manali Wildlife Sanctuary,Northwestern Himalaya显示文摘Fuelwood is the main source of the energy in mountainous regions.Hence,annual wood consumption is very high.Information on fuelwood resources,and their extraction and availability is very scanty.Therefore,present study was carried out to study the diversity of fuelwood species,annual collection,preference and availability of fuel species in the forests.Thirty four species(25 trees and 9 shrubs) were extracted for fuel by the inhabitants.Total collection and species preference was highest for Picea smithiana,Cedrus deodara,Indigofera heterantha,Pinus wallchiana and Sorbaria tomentosa,respectively.Resource use index indicating use pressure was highest for P.smithiana,C.deodara,I.heterantha and Abies pindrow,respectively.Besides native species,some non-native horticultural and agroforestry species such as Malus pumila,P.domestica,Celtis australis,etc.were also being used as fuel.Preferred species showed their availability in eight forest types whereas,population and regeneration status was poor.Therefore,immediate actions are suggested to sustain current and future demand of fuelwood.The afforestation of degraded,uncultivated and marginal lands through high quality and preferred fuel species might reduce pressure on wild and selective species. | Man S.RANA Sakshi B.RANA S.S.SAMANT | 2012 | Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,4: | 0 |
| 11 | Clinical outcomes and prognostic significance of early vs.late computed tomography in acute pancreatitis显示文摘Background:Guidelines recommend that contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)should be carried out 72 hours after onset of an attack of acute pancreatitis(AP).However,the exact time beyond 72 hours at which CT will produce the best diagnostic yield for local complications,or whether doing a CT early in acute pancreatitis has any adverse effect on the course of disease,is not clear.Methods:The medical records of 214 consecutive patients with AP were analysed retrospectively and these patients were divided into two groups:the early CT group(CT done at 4–5 days after the onset of pain)and the late CT group(CT done in days 6–14 following onset of pain).The two groups were compared for differences in clinical outcomes and prognostic information obtained from CT,such as detection of pancreatic necrosis and local complications,and CT severity index.Results:Of 214 patients[143(66.8%)males;mean age 39.87613.52 years],21 patients were excluded as they did not undergo CT or CT was done more than 14 days after onset of an attack of AP.The early CT group included 114 patients,whilst the late CT group had 79.The mean CT severity index was higher in the late CT group(6.6562.27 vs.5.5262.7;P=0.005).The incidence of persistent organ failure in the early group was no different from that of the late group(38.6%vs.49.4%;P=0.143).Local complications were detected more often in the late CT group(84.8%vs.68.4%;P=0.011).There was no difference between the two groups in the need for percutaneous drainage,surgery,or mortality(all P>0.05).Conclusions:Although performing early CT does not adversely affect the outcome in AP,CT carried out more than 5 days after the onset of symptoms may detect more local complications. | Vishal Sharma Surinder S.Rana Ravi K.Sharma Rajesh Gupta Deepak K.Bhasin | 2015 | Gastroenterology Report2015,3,2: | 0 |

| 15 | Transverse Transport of Polymeric Nanofluid under Pure Internal Heating: Keller Box Algorithm显示文摘The present work aims to investigate transverse Oldroyd-B nanofluid flow on a stretched panel with consideration of internal heat generation. Buongiorno model is utilized to study influence of thermophoresis and Brownian motion effects. A numerical procedure known as Keller box algorithm is used to solve the governed physical model.Graphically velocity, temperature and concentration of nanoparticles are expressed. Also, concerned physical measures such as heat and mass transfer are investigated numerically. The simulations performed revealed that fluid parameters play a significant role in heat transfer under Brownian motion and thermophoresis effects. Local heat flux is elevated while local mass flux is suppressed with enhancing Brownian motion parameter. Streamlines pattern exhibits that flow is more inclined in the presence of Deborah number effects. To the best of our knowledge, transverse flow of an Oldroyd-B type fluid which incorporates the thermal relaxation effects has never been reported before in the presence of Brownian motion and internal heating phenomenon. Therefore we intend to discuss these features in detail.
