1Manipulation of SlMXl for enhanced carotenoids accumulation and drought resistance in tomato显示文摘Plants are the ultimate source of nutrients in the human diet. To ensure adequate availability of high quality food for an increasing world population, traits including improved tolerance of stresses and nutrient levels need to be selected in crops, both individually and in combination. Here we report the identification of Sl MX1 encoding a MIXTA-like MYB transcription factor in tomato that simultaneously modulates drought resistance and metabolic processes through regulating key structural and regulatory genes of the corresponding pathways. Over-expression of Sl MX1 results in substantially increased drought tolerance and improved fruit quality, while knocking down Sl MX1 resulted in the opposite phenotypes. 2RNA-seq reveals mechanisms of SlMX1 for enhanced carotenoids and terpenoids accumulation along with stress resistance in tomato显示文摘Improving nutritional fruit quality and impacts important agro-traits such as biotic or abiotic stresses are extremely important for human civilization.Our previous study reported that manipulation of Sl MX1 gene enhanced carotenoids accumulation and drought resistance in tomato.Here,RNA-Seq analysis proved to be a very useful tool to provide insights into the regulatory mechanisms of Sl MX1 involved in stress resistance and enhanced secondary metabolites.Physiological analysis showed that overexpression of Sl MX1 results in substantially increased broad-spectrum tolerance to a wide-range of abiotic and biotic(fungus,bacteria,virus and insects) stresses in tomato.This research appears to be of remarkable interest because enhanced terpenoids content has been achieved by increasing trichome density.In addition,we reported two types of trichome which seems to be aberrant types in tomato.This study unravels the mechanism of regulation of Sl MX1,which simultaneously modulates resistance and metabolic processes through regulating key structural and regulatory genes of the corresponding pathways.Mohamed Ewas Yangqiang Gao Farhan Ali Elsayed M. 3Multi-Modal Data Analysis Based Game Player Experience Modeling Using LSTM-DNN显示文摘Game player modeling is a paradigm of computational models to exploit players’behavior and experience using game and player analytics.Player modeling refers to descriptions of players based on frameworks of data derived from the interaction of a player’s behavior within the game as well as the player’s experience with the game.Player behavior focuses on dynamic and static information gathered at the time of gameplay.Player experience concerns the association of the human player during gameplay,which is based on cognitive and affective physiological measurements collected from sensors mounted on the player’s body or in the player’s surroundings.In this paper,player experience modeling is studied based on the board puzzle game“Candy Crush Saga”using cognitive data of players accessed by physiological and peripheral devices.Long Short-Term Memory-based Deep Neural Network(LSTM-DNN)is used to predict players’effective states in terms of valence,arousal,dominance,and liking by employing the concept of transfer learning.Transfer learning focuses on gaining knowledge while solving one problem and using the same knowledge to solve different but related problems.The homogeneous transfer learning approach has not been implemented in the game domain before,and this novel study opens a new research area for the game industry where the main challenge is predicting the significance of innovative games for entertainment and players’engagement.Relevant not only from a player’s point of view,it is also a benchmark study for game developers who have been facing problems of“cold start”for innovative games that strengthen the game industrial economy.Sehar Shahzad Farooq Mustansar Fiaz Irfan Mehmood Ali Kashif Bashir Raheel Nawaz KyungJoong Kim Soon Ki Jung 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,9:0
4Association mapping and domestication analysis to dissect genetic improvement process of upland cotton yield-related traits in China显示文摘Background: Cotton fiber yield is a complex trait,which can be influenced by multiple agronomic traits.Unravelling the genetic basis of cotton fiber yield-related traits contributes to genetic improvement of cotton.Results: In this study,503 upland cotton varieties covering the four breeding stages(BS1–BS4,1911–2011)in China were used for association mapping and domestication analysis.One hundred and forty SSR markers significantly associated with ten fiber yield-related traits were identified,among which,29 markers showed an increasing trend contribution to cotton yield-related traits from BS1 to BS4,and 26 markers showed decreased trend effect.Four favorable alleles of 9 major loci(R^(2)≥3)were strongly selected during the breeding stages,and the candidate genes of the four strongly selected alleles were predicated according to the gene function annotation and tissue expression data.Conclusions :The study not only uncovers the genetic basis of 10 cotton yield-related traits but also provides genetic evidence for cotton improvement during the cotton breeding process in China.GUO Chunping PAN Zhenyuan YOU Chunyuan ZHOU Xiaofeng HUANG Cong SHEN Chao ZHAO Ruihai YANG Qingyong ZHU Longfu SHAHZAD Raheel MENG Fande LIN Zhongxu NIE Xinhui 2021Journal of Cotton Research2021,4,2:0
