| 1 | A study on the double melting behavior of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)显示文摘Double melting behavior of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) was studied in detail by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and optical microscopy. The results indicate that the low-temperature melting peak of PTT at ca. 218℃ for the samples crystallized isothermally at 203℃ is associated with the melting of crystals produced by secondary crystallization, while the high-temperature melting peak of it at about 227℃ is related to the melting of the crystals produced by primary crystallization. The results further demonstrate that the PTT crystals growing non-isothermally during cooling process are thermodynamically unstable and can undergo structure reorganization during the DSC heating scan. The reorganized crystals melt at temperature higher than the crystals produced by secondary crystallization at 203 ℃. | 3 | Modeling and simulation of industrial water demand of Beijing municipality in China显示文摘Statistic and econometric regression models were established in this study to analyze and predict industrial water demand,water deficits,and their future uncertainty in Beijing—a Chinese city with a severe water stress problem.A forecasting model was selected based on a modeling evaluation by comparing predictions with observations.Four scenarios were designed to simulate and analyze the future uncertainty of industrial water demand and the water deficit of Beijing.The modeling results for industrial water demand suggested that Beijing industry would face a water deficit between 3.06×10^(8)m^(3)in 2008 and 2.77×10^(8)m^(3)in 2015,though its industrial water demand would decrease from 6.31×10^(8)m^(3)to 4.84×10^(8)m^(3)during this period of time.Results from simulated scenario illustrated that,due to the extreme water scarcity situation,industry in Beijing would still face a serious water deficit problem even with a very optimistic scenario for the future. | Shouke WEI Alin LEI Shafi Noor ISLAM | 2010 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2010,4,1: | 1 |
| 4 | Research on Coordination Mechanism in Construction Project Organization显示文摘The construction process of modern project is distributed across teams, departments, or systems, each of which is corresponding to a particular project unit. Conflicts often occur in construction project organization because of the improper coordination amongbetween these project units. The primary reason for coordination puzzle in project organization is generally the diversification of culture and technology. In order to enhance the organization’s performance efficiency, good and effective coordination mechanism aimed at diversification of culture and technology is needed. The relationship amongbetween parties and project units is defined and expressed through contract, so construction project organization usually relies on various contracts to deal with its cooperative partner relationship. However, the contractual mode is a defensive method which is more prone to conflicts than the conglomerate of diversification, especially evaluated from the aspects of culture and value. By culture integration—a more flexible way to make up the shortage of contractual mode, a harmonious atmosphere in which organization members can exert their potential ability can be created to help project administrators mitigate organization conflicts and achieve the common goals of project organization. Based on arbitration theory, moreover, this paper puts forward a combined coordination mechanism-hierarchical coordination and nonhierarchical coordination—to resolve the conflicts resulted from diversification of technology. | 8 | Effect of crystallization temperature and propylene sequence length on the crystalline structure of propylene-ethylene random copolymers显示文摘Crystallization behavior and resultant crystalline structure of a series of temperature-rising elu-tion-fractionated specimen of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst-synthesized propylene-ethylene random co-polymer were studied by DSC, WAXD and AFM. The experimental results indicate that both crystalliza-tion temperature and propylene sequence length exhibit great influence on the crystallization behavior and crystalline structure of the copolymer. It was found that the ethylene co-monomers acting as point defects inserted into the polypropylene chains play an important role in the formation of γ-iPP. As the co-monomer content increases, the crystallizable sequence length of iPP decreases, which produces an appropriate condition for its γ crystallization. At the same time, the existence of chain defects leads to a lower crystallinity of the copolymer and imperfection of the resultant crystals. For each individual sample with certain propylene sequence length or ethylene content, the increment of γ-iPP crystal content with increasing crystallization temperature demonstrates that higher crystallization tempera-ture is in favor of the γ-iPP crystallization.
