| 2 | Evaluation of antiinflammatory activity of Tephrosia purpurea in rats显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the antiinflammatory activity of orally administered ethanolic extract of Tephrosia purpurea in acute and subacute inflammation in rats.Methods:An ethanolic extract of Tephrosia purpurea was prepared.Carrageenan induced paw edema and cotton pellet granuloma were the models for acute and subacute inflammation respectively.Four groups of rats in each model were treated orally with 2%gum acacia,100 mg /kg of aspirin,500 mg/kg and 1 000 mg/kg of ethanolic extract of Tephrosia purpurea respectively.In carrageenan induced paw edema model, subplantar injection of 1%carrageenan was made into the hind paw of the rats sixty minutes after the administration of the respective drugs.The paw volume was measured immediately after injection of carrageenan,at 3 hours and at 6 hours.Then percentage inhibition of edema was calculated.In the cotton pellet granuloma model,animals were administered drugs for six days after placing cotton pellets in the axilla on each side.On the 7th day,dry weight of granuloma was calculated.Results:The rats treated with Tephrosia purpurea did not exhibit any significant decrease in paw volume and serum ceruloplasmin levels as compared to the control and aspirin treated groups in the acute inflammation model;while,there was a significant(P < 0.01) decrease in the weight of granuloma in Tephrosia purpurea and aspirin treated groups as compared to control in subacute inflammation.Conclusions:The ethanolic extract of orally administered Tephrosia purpurea shows significant antiinflammatory effect in subacute inflammation but not in acute inflammation in rats. | Shenoy Smita Shwetha K Prabhu K Maradi R Bairy KL Shanbhag T | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010，3，3： | 5 |
| 3 | Diversity,population structure and regeneration status of arboreal species in the four sacred groves of Kushalnagar,Karnataka显示文摘Assessment of tree species diversity, structure and regeneration status of four sacred groves of Kushalnagar,southern Karnataka was carried out. The random quadrat method was employed in each grove for enumeration of tree diversity and regeneration status. A total of 98 tree species belonging to 38 families were found from the sampled areas.These groves possess higher diversity and basal area. Some67 % of species have shown regeneration, while 17 % of species had no regeneration. Another 15 % of species were reappearing or immigrating. It is observed that increased disturbance was directly proportional to number of reappearing or immigrating species and inversely proportional to the diversity in all the sacred groves. | 7 | Efficacy of autologous platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of chronic nonhealing leg ulcers显示文摘Aim:The aim was to evaluate the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)in the treatment of chronic nonhealing ulcers.Methods:A nonrandomized,uncontrolled study was performed on 24 patients with 33 nonhealing ulcers of various etiologies.All patients were treated with PRP at weekly intervals for a maximum of 6 treatments.At the end of the 6-week period,reduction in size of the ulcers(area and volume)was assessed.Results:The mean age of the patients was 42.5 years(standard deviation[SD]12.48).Of 33 ulcers,there were 19 venous ulcers,7 traumatic ulcers,2 ulcers secondary to pyoderma gangrenosum,2 diabetic ulcers,2 trophic ulcers,and 1 vasculitic ulcer.The mean duration of healing of the ulcers was 5.6 weeks(SD 3.23).The mean percentage of reduction in area and volume of the ulcers was 91.7%(SD 18.4%)and 95%(SD 14%),respectively.About 100%resolution in the area was seen in 25(76%)of the ulcers and 100%reduction in volume was seen in 24(73%)of the ulcers at the end of the 6th treatment.Conclusion:Conventional therapies do not provide satisfactory healing for chronic nonhealing ulcers as they are not able to provide the necessary growth factors(GFs)(platelet-derived GF,epidermal GF,vascular endothelial GF,etc.)which are essential for the healing process.PRP is a safe,affordable,biocompatible,and simple office-based procedure for the treatment of nonhealing ulcers. | Shwetha Suryanarayan Leelavathy Budamakuntla Syed Iqbalulla Sha Khadri Sacchidanand Sarvajnamurthy | 2014 | Plastic and Aesthetic Research2014，1，1： | 1 |

| 15 | Regaining birth weight and predicting ROP-a prospective, pilot study显示文摘Background:Poor postnatal weight gain is a well-known risk factor for developing retinopathy of prematurity(ROP).Algorithms that predict ROP based on serial weight gain have not been generalizable in non-Caucasian populations.The duration taken to regain the lost weight is culturally important among Indian mothers.We report the correlation between this duration and the risk of developing ROP.Methods:Sixty-eight Asian Indian infants born<2,000 grams at birth or<34 weeks of gestation were enrolled.The number of days taken for these infants to regain baseline birth weight(BW)was recorded.This measure was correlated with the eventual ROP outcome categorized as“no ROP”,ROP that regressed spontaneously(type 2 ROP),and ROP that required treatment(type 1).Results:The mean BW of the cohort was 1,270±340 grams and mean gestational age(GA)was 31±2 weeks.Thirty-three infants(48.5%)developed no ROP,20 infants(29.4%)developed type 2 ROP and 15 infants(22.1%)developed type 1 ROP.The mean number of days to regain the lost weight was 11.9+4.6,17.9+7.9 and 26.6+12.9 days for the No ROP,type 2 and type 1 groups respectively(P<0.0001,one-way ANOVA with Boneferroni correction).Those babies who regained their BW within 10 days were at least risk of developing any stage ROP,moderate risk if they took between 11-20 days and highest risk if they took more than 21 days for developing type 2 or type 1 ROP.Conclusions:The date when a child regains its lost BW is culturally important and easily recalled by mothers.We report the use of this simple estimate as a predictor of ROP.This method could be useful in stratifying risk and predicting the development of“treatment requiring ROP”even before 21 days of life,which is the first mandated screening visit in India. | Anand Vinekar Shwetha Mangalesh Madhurya Mallavarapu Chaitra Jayadev Praveen Sharma Bhujang Shetty | 2017 | Annals of Eye Science2017，，1： | 0 |

| 17 | 横荡激励下矩形缩比罐中的液体晃动力学显示文摘The present paper presents the sloshing oscillation behaviour and sloshing force in three different tanks of model scales of 1:86,1:57 and 1:43.The rectangular tank is mounted on shake table,to study the scale effect of sloshing with sway excited motion.The tests are carried out for the aspect ratio(hs/l,where hs liquid depth and l is the length of the tank)of 0.1625,0.325,and 0.4875 which represents 25%,50%and 75%of liquid fill levels,respectively.Seventeen excitation frequencies ranging from 0.4566 Hz to 1.9757 Hz are considered,which covers up to the fifth sloshing mode.The sloshing oscillations occurs in the longitudinal axis when subjected to sway excitations.An experimental setup is designed and devised to measure sloshing force by the concept of ballast mass.The inertia forces are measured by load cells and sloshing oscillation time histories are measured by capacitance probes.It is found that violent sloshing is experienced for 50%filled condition irrespective of scaled tanks,excitation amplitudes and excitation frequencies.The sloshing force is maximum in 1:43 scaled tank than other scaled sloshing tanks irrespective of the excitation frequency and amplitude for 50%fill level.Based on the experimental observations and analysis of results,it is concluded that proportionate volume of water and tank size decides the severity of sloshing in the partially filled tanks. | Sahaj K V Shwetha Shri Nasar T | 2023 | 哈尔滨工程大学学报(英文版)2023，22，2： | 0 |
