1Damage evolution law of coal-rock under uniaxial compression based on the electromagnetic radiation characteristics显示文摘Based on electromagnetic radiation characteristics, the present research studied the damage evolution of rock under uniaxial compression. Besides, this research built the coal-rock damage evolution model considered residual strength. The applicability and accuracy of the model were verified through experiments. The results show that coal-rock damage evolution consists of four periods. The first period is from the beginning of compression to nearly 20% of the stress peak value, during which the damage variable changes stably about 0.1, and accordingly a few of electromagnetic radiation signals emerge. The second period is from about 20% to 70% of the stress peak value. The damage has stable development, and the parameter of electromagnetic radiation characteristics turns larger continuously with the increase of stress. The third period is when the damage has accelerated development, the coal-rock was broken which result from sharp increasing of the damage variable, meanwhile a great quantity of electromagnetic radiation signals emerge. The fourth period is after the coal-rock fracture, during which the damage variable corresponding to the parameter of electromagnetic radiation characteristics has a stable development. 2Boron doped graphdiyne:A metal-free peroxidase mimetic nanozyme for antibacterial application显示文摘The abuse of conventional antibiotics leads to increasing bacterial resistance.Nanozyme is a new kind of ultra-efficient and safe nanomaterial with intrinsic enzyme-like activities,showing remarkable potential as a next generation nanobactericide.Graphdiyne(GDY)is a burgeoning two-dimensional(2D)carbon allotrope with intriguing physicochemical properties,holding a great promise as a metal-free nanozyme.In this study,a boron doped GDY nanosheet(B-GDY)was constructed to simulate the performance of peroxidase(POD).By promoting the decomposition of H_(2)O_(2) to produce reactive oxygen species(ROS),the bactericidal efficacies against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria were substantially enhanced attributed to the extremely high catalytic activity of B-GDY.In-depth density functional theory(DFT)calculations illuminate that doping of boron can introduce more active B-defect sites as well as lower Gibbs free energy during the H_(2)O_(2) decomposition reaction.Notably,B-GDY contributes to significant wound healing and excellent biocompatibility,reducing the biological burden.The design of this nanozyme opens a new avenue for the development of alternative antibiotics.Xuelong Bi Qiang Bai Lina Wang Fanglin Du Manhong Liu William W.Yu Siheng Li Jiaqiang Li Zhiling Zhu Ning Sui Jin Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:2

14Controlling Ion Conductance and Channels to Achieve Synapticlike Frequency Selectivity显示文摘Enhancing ion conductance and controlling transport pathway in organic electrolyte could be used to modulate ionic kinetics to handle signals. In a Pt/Poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl)/Polyethylene?Li CF3SO3/Pt hetero-junction, the electrolyte layer handled at high temperature showed nano-fiber microstructures accompanied with greatly improved salt solubility. 15Mechanistic Insights into Effects of Outer Stage Flare Angle on Ignition and Flame Propagation of Separated Dual-Swirl Spray Flames显示文摘The present work investigates the effects of outer stage flare angle on ignition and kernel propagation in a centrally staged optical model combustor based on the kernel dynamics analysis and laser diagnostics of flow and spray fields.Three outer stage flare angles of 8°,16°,and 25°are researched,respectively.The better ignition performances are found for larger outer stage flare angles.Key properties such as the kernel velocity,kernel trajectory extracted from 6 k Hz high-speed flame images are analyzed in combination with the flow and spray measured via Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV)and Planar Mie Scattering(PMie).Results show that the larger outer stage flare angle imposes a larger opening angle of outer swirl jet(SWJ),shifting the vortex in outer recirculation zone(ORZ)and inner recirculation zone(IRZ)upstream.The spray distribution of a smaller flare angle exhibits a fuel-lean zone near the igniter and this is attributed to the presence of low-angle outer swirl jet that prevents the fuel droplets from arriving at the igniter vicinity.The flame kernel propagates along the path where the strain rate and velocity decrease and the spray droplet density is within the flammable limits.A lower outer stage flare angle increases the strain rate and velocity at the early phase of flame propagation,leading to a longer propagation route and thus increasing the risk of ignition failure.YANG Siheng HUI Xin ZHANG Chi QIAN Weijia GAN Xiaohua 2022Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,5:0
16Vitamin B_(12)-auxotrophy in dinoflagellates caused by incomplete or absent cobalamin-independent methionine synthase genes(metE)显示文摘Dinoflagellates are responsible for most marine harmful algal blooms (HABs) and play vital roles in many ocean processes.More than 90% of dinoflagellates are vitamin B_(12) auxotrophs and that B_(12) availability can control dinoflagellate HABs,yet the genetic basis of B_(12) auxotrophy in dinoflagellates in the framework of the ecology of dinoflagellates and particularly HABs,which was the objective of this work.Here,we investigated the presence,phylogeny,and transcription of two methionine synthase genes(B_(12)-dependent metH and B_(12)-independent metE)via searching and assembling transcripts and genes from transcriptomic and genomic databases,cloning 38 cDNA isoforms of the two genes from 14 strains of dinoflagellates,measuring the expression at different scenarios of B_(12),and comprehensive phylogenetic analyses of more than 100 organisms.We found that 1)metH was present in all 58 dinoflagellates accessible and metE was present in 40 of 58 species,2)all metE genes lacked N-terminal domains,3)metE of dinoflagellates were phylogenetically distinct from other known metE genes,and 4)expression of metH in dinoflagellates was responsive to exogenous B_(12) levels while expression of metE was not responding as that of genuine metE genes.We conclude that most,hypothetically all,dinoflagellates have either non-functional metE genes lacking N-terminal domain for most species,or do not possess metE for other species,which provides the genetic basis for the widespread nature of B_(12) auxotrophy in dinoflagellates.The work elucidated a fundamental aspect of the nutritional ecology of dinoflagellates.Siheng Lin Zhangxi Hu Xiaoying Song Christopher JGobler Ying Zhong Tang 2022Fundamental Research2022,2,5:0
17Flexible Dry Hydrogel with Lamella-Like Structure Engineered via Dehydration in Poor Solvent显示文摘Hydrogels are among the most promising biologic materials in recent technology with numerous desired applications,including serving as biosensors,drug delivery vehicles,and tissue-engineered products for cell matrices.However,they often dehydrate,and become stiff and brittle in air,causing loss of flexibility and functions.Several layered structures have been proven to increase the strength,toughness,and even flexibility of these materials,which might provide a new clue for the sustenance of the flexibility of drying gels.Herein,we report a novel solvent-dehydrated hydrogel engineering approach,aimed to change the inner structure and keep the flexibility of a dehydrated hydrogel in the air via solvent-induced dehydration,for example,acetonedehydrated polyacrylic acid hydrogel.This flexible dry gel could be folded,twisted,and stretched without any damage due to the assumed lamella-like structures,contrary to dry gels without these microstructures or those with porous structures,which retain brittle consistency.The flexible dry gel also exhibited excellent self-healing capability with the assistance of solvents.Fascinatingly,this flexible gel film displayed strain-visualizing paper writing/erasing performance properties,with water acting as invisible ink.Thus,this fabricated flexible hydrogel film might function as confidential information storage material.Our current approach is versatile,hence applicable to other hydrogels,and provides insight into the engineering of other functional gels for extended future applications.Feilong Zhang Jiajia Zhou Zhen Gu Man Yang Siheng Li Yongyang Song Jun-Bing Fan Jingxin Meng Peiyi Wu Lei Jiang Shutao Wang 2020CCS Chemistry2020,2,1:0
18Polyelectrolyte complex-based thermochromic hydrogels containing carbonized polymer dots for smart windows with fast response,excellent solar modulation ability,and high durability显示文摘Thermochromic smart windows have gained increasing popularity in light modulation and energy management in buildings.However,the fabrication of flexible thermochromic smart windows with high luminous transmittance(Tlum),tailorable critical temperature(τc),strong solar modulation ability(ΔTsol),and long-term durability remains a huge challenge.In this study,hydrogel-based thermochromic smart windows are fabricated by sandwiching thermochromic hydrogels of polyallylamine hydrochloride,polyacrylic acid,and carbonized polymer dots(CPDs)complexes between two pieces of transparent substrates.Benefiting from the incorporation of nanosized CPDs,the thermochromic hydrogel has an ultrahigh Tlum of~98.7%,a desirableτc of~24.2℃,aΔTsol of~89.3%and a rapid transition time of~3 s from opaque state to transparent state.Moreover,the thermochromic hydrogel exhibits excellent anti-freezing ability,tight adhesion toward various substrates,and excellent self-healing capability.The self-healing capability enables the fabrication of large-area smart windows by welding multiple hydrogel pieces.The smart windows retain their original thermochromic properties after being stored under ambient conditions for at least 147 days or undergoing 10,000 uninterrupted heating/cooling cycles.The model houses with smart windows can achieve a temperature reduction of 9.2℃,demonstrating the excellent indoor temperature modulation performance of the smart windows.Yuting Wang Xu Fang Siheng Li Ni An Hongyu Pan Junqi Sun 2024SmartMat2024,5,2:0
19儿童髓母细胞瘤34例三维适形放射治疗的疗效分析(英文)显示文摘Objective:In our investigation,we studied the patients with medulloblastoma who received 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy(3DCRT) and recorded their effects,side effects and failure reasons.Methods:From August 2001 to August 2007,34 children with medulloblastoma were treated in our hospital.The age at diagnosis was 3-16 years old,and the mean age at diagnosis was 9.5 years old.Among all the patients,16 cases were included in the high risk group and 18 cases were included in the low risk group.All the patients were performed total resection or subtotal resection and no patients received radiotherapy or chemotherapy before operation.All patients received 3DCRT within 3 weeks after resection.The dose of 30 Gy were given to the whole brain and whole spine,followed by 20-25 Gy boosted to the posterior brain fossa.The median fraction dose was 180 cGy.Every patient received the chemotherapy scheme of the Lomustine,Cisplatinum and Vincristine.Nobody received intrathecal chemotherapy.The tests of the complete blood count,blood biochemistry,hepatic and renal functions were required before every cycle of chemotherapy.Results:5-year overall survival(OS) and 5-year disease free survival(DFS) were 71% and 62% respectively.The median follow-up time was 36.5 months.The 5-year OS of the high risk group was 71% compared to 62% of the low risk group.There were significant difference between the two groups(P = 0.01).There were 13 failure cases in all the patients.Of these 13 patients,10 were dead and the other 3 were alive with tumor.The complete remission(CR) rate was 70.5% and the partial remission(PR) rate was 14%.Among the failure patients,there were 3 patients(8.8%) with the recurrences located in the brain of cribriform region.The 5-year OS of the patients with preoperative metastases was 12.5%(1/8),and which of the patients with residual tumor volume > 1.5 cm3 was 0%(0/5).Through the statistic analysis,it was found that both whether or not the metastases were found before surgery and residual tumor volume have the significant impacts on the prognosis of the children with medulloblastoma(P < 0.05).The major adverse reactions were hematological toxicity(7/34,20.6%) and gastrointestinal reaction(4/34,11.8%).Conclusion:Through the using of 3DCRT for the children with medulloblastoma,the severe side effects rate was not high.The prognosis of the patients in low risk group was satisfied which was opposite to that of the patients in high risk group.And the patients with residual tumor volume > 1.5 cm3 and preoperative metastases also had poor prognosis.It is needed to pay attention to the possible low dose of the brain of cribriform region.Dongfeng He Siheng Ha Changsheng Wang 2009The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2009,8,7:0
