| 1 | Inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 (previously 2019-nCoV) infection by a highly potent pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor targeting its spike protein that harbors a high capacity to mediate membrane fusion显示文摘The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease(COVID-19)caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection in Wuhan,China has posed a serious threat to global public health.To develop specific anti-coronavirus therapeutics and prophylactics,the molecular mechanism that underlies viral infection must first be defined.Therefore,we herein established a SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein-mediated cell-cell fusion assay and found that SARS-CoV-2 showed a superior plasma membrane fusion capacity compared to that of SARS-CoV.We solved the X-ray crystal structure of six-helical bundle(6-HB)core of the HR1 and HR2 domains in the SARS-CoV-2 S protein S2 subunit revealing that several mutated amino acid residues in the HR1 domain may be associated with enhanced interactions with the HR2 domain.We previously developed a pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor,EK1,which targeted the HR!domain and could inhibit infection by divergent human coronaviruses tested,including SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.Here we generated a series of lipopeptides derived from EK1 and found that EK1C4 was the most potent fusion inhibitor against SARS-CoV-2 S protein-mediated membrane fusion and pseudovirus infection with IC50s of 1.3 and 15.8 nM,about 241-and 149-fold more potent than the original EK1 peptide,respectively.EK1C4 was also highly effective against membrane fusion and infection of other human coronavirus pseudoviruses tested,including SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV,as well as SARSr-CoVs,and potently inhibited the replication of 5 live human coronaviruses examined,including SARS-CoV-2.Intranasal application of EK1C4 before or after challenge with HCoV-OC43 protected mice from infection,suggesting that EK1C4 could be used for prevention and treatment of infection by the currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 and other emerging SARSr-CoVs. | Shuai Xia Meiqin Liu Chao Wang Wei Xu Qiaoshuai Lan Siliang Feng Feifei Qi Linlin Bao Lanying Du Shuwen Liu Chuan Qin Fei Sun Zhengli Shi Yun Zhu Shibo Jiang Lu Lu | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,4: | 81 |
| 2 | High-speed maneuvering target detection approach based on joint RFT and keystone transform显示文摘Increasing the integration time is an effective method to improve small maneuvering target detection performance in radar applications.However,range migration and Doppler spread caused by maneuvering target motion during the integration time make it difficult to improve the coherent accumulation of target's energy and detection performance.In this study,a new method based on Radon Fourier transform(RFT) and keystone transform(KT) for high-speed maneuvering target detection is proposed.The proposed algorithm utilizes second-order KT to correct the range curvature,and the improved dechirping method to compensate for the Doppler spread.RFT is then used to correct the range walk for target coherent detection.The method is capable of correcting the range migration and the time-varied Doppler frequency of the target without knowing its velocity and acceleration.The advantage of the proposed method is that it can increase the coherent integration time and improve detection performance under the condition of Doppler frequency ambiguity.Compared with the second-order RFT algorithm,the computational burden of the proposed method is greatly reduced under the premise that the two methods have similar estimation accuracy of range,velocity and acceleration.Numerical experiments demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm. | TIAN Jing CUI Wei SHEN Qing WEI ZiXiang WU SiLiang | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,6: | 19 |
| 3 | Formability of AA 2219-O sheet under quasi-static,electromagnetic dynamic,and mechanical dynamic tensile loadings显示文摘The mechanism by which electromagnetic forming(EMF)enhances the formability of metals is unclear owing to the coupling effect of multi-physics fields.In the present work,the associated formability improvement mechanisms were qualitatively categorized and illustrated.This was realized by comparing the formability of fully annealed 2219 aluminum alloy(AA 2219-O)sheet under quasi-static(QS),electromagnetic dynamic(EM),and mechanical dynamic(MD)tensile loadings.It was found that the forming limit of AA 2219-O sheet under EM tensile loading was significantly(45.4%)higher than that under QS tensile loading,and was marginally(3.7%–4.3%)higher than that under MD tensile loading.In addition,the forming limit of AA 2219-O sheet demonstrated a negative dependency on the strain rate within the range of the dynamic tensile tests conducted.The deformation conditions common to EM and MD tensile loadings were responsible for the significant formability improvement compared with QS tensile loading.In particular,the inertial effect was dominant.The different deformation conditions that distinguish EM tensile loading from MD tensile loading resulted in the marginal improvement in formability.This was caused by the absence of a sustaining contact force at the later deformation stage and the lower strain rate.The body force exerted little influence on the formability improvement,and the thermal effect under the two dynamic tensile loadings was negligible. | Hongliang Su Liang Huang Jianjun Li Wang Xiao Hui Zhu Fei Feng Hongwei Li Siliang Yan | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,11: | 13 |
| 4 | Dissolved inorganic carbon and its isotopic differentiation in cascade reservoirs in the Wujiang drainage basin显示文摘Three cascade reservoirs,built in different periods of time in the Wujiang drainage basin,were inves-tigated in this study.Samples were taken at the surface and also at 20,40,60,80 m depths in front of the dams in April,July,October of 2006 and January of 2007.Chemical parameters were calculated and the concentrations of dissolved inorganic carbon DIC and its isotopic composition(δ13CDIC) were de-termined.In surface waters,the δ13CDIC values are high in summer and autumn and low in winter and spring,while the DIC concentrations are relatively low in summer and autumn and relatively high in winter and spring.In the water column,the DIC concentrations increase while δ13CDIC values decrease with water depth.DIC in various reservoirs is significantly different in isotopic composition from that in natural rivers,but is close to that in natural lakes.In addition,in surface waters,the δ13CDIC values tend to become lower whereas the nutrition level tends to become higher with increasing age of the reser-voirs.The conclusion is that after dam blocking,changes took place in the hydrochemical properties of river water,and the impounding rivers developed toward lakes and swamps.In addition,differentiation in DIC isotopic composition may be used to some extent to trace the evolution process of a reservoir. | YU YuanXiu LIU CongQiang WANG FuShun WANG BaoLi LI Jun LI SiLiang | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,21: | 9 |
| 5 | Heterogeneous lamellar-edged Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray for efficient and stable seawater oxidation显示文摘Development of efficient non-precious catalysts for seawater electrolysis is of great significance but challenging due to the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and the impairment of chlorine electrochemistry at anode.Herein,we report a heterostructure of Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray with secondary Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)lamellar edges that exposes abundant active sites towards seawater oxidation.The resultant Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray works directly as a free-standing anodic electrode in alkaline artificial seawater.It only requires an overpotential of 269 mV to afford a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)and the Tafel slope is as low as 46 m V·dec^(-1).The 27-hour chronopotentiometry operated at high current density of 100 mA·cm^(-2)shows negligible deterioration,suggesting good stability of the Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)@NF electrode.Faraday efficiency for oxygen evolution is up to〜95%,revealing decent selectivity of the catalyst in saline water.Such desirable catalytic performance could be benefitted from the introduction of Fe activator and the heterostructure that offers massive active and selective sites.The density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that the OER has lower theoretical overpotential than Cl_(2) evolution reaction in Fe sites,which is contrary to that of Ni sites.The experimental and theoretical study provides a strong support for the rational design of high-performance Fe-based electrodes for industrial seawater electrolysis. | Baihua Cui Zheng Hu Chang Liu Siliang Liu Fangshuai Chen Shi Hu Jinfeng Zhang Wei Zhou Yida Deng Zhenbo Qin Zhong Wu Yanan Chen Lifeng Cui Wenbin Hu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,4: | 7 |

| 7 | Nitrous oxide (N_2O) emissions from a mesotrophic reservoir on the Wujiang River,southwest China显示文摘Aquatic ecosystems have been identified as a globally significant source of nitrous oxide(N_2O) due to continuous active nitrogen involvement, but the processes and influencing factors that control N_2O production are still poorly understood, especially in reservoirs. For that, monthly N_2O variations were monitored in Dongfeng reservoir(DFR)with a mesotrophic condition. The dissolved N_2O concentration in DFR displayed a distinct spatial–temporal pattern but lower than that in the eutrophic reservoirs. During the whole sampling year, N_2O saturation ranging from 144% to 640%, indicating that reservoir acted as source of atmospheric N_2O. N_2O production is induced by the introduction of nitrogen(NO_3^-, NH_4^+) in mesotrophic reservoirs, and is also affected by oxygen level and water temperature. Nitrification was the predominate process for N_2O production in DFR due to well-oxygenated longitudinal water layers.Mean values of estimated N_2O flux from the air–water interface averaged 0.19 μmol m^(-2)h^(-1) with a range of 0.01–0.61 μmol m^(-2)h^(-1). DFR exhibited less N_2O emission flux than that reported in a nearby eutrophic reservoir, but still acted as a moderate N_2O source compared with other reservoirs and lakes worldwide. Annual emissions from the water–air interface of DFR were estimated to be 0.32×10~5 mol N–N_2O, while N_2O degassing from releasing water behind the dam during power generation was nearly five times greater. Hence, N_2O degassing behind the dam should be taken into account for estimation of N_2O emissions from artificial reservoirs, an omission that historically has probably resulted in underestimates. | 8 | Role of the inter-pass cooling rate in recrystallization behaviors of Ni-based superalloy during interrupted hot compression显示文摘The microstructural evolution of a Ni-based superalloy under interrupted hot compressive deformation with different cooling rates in the inter-pass stage is investigated. It is found that metadynamic recrystallization(MDRX) in the inter-pass stage is more sensitive to the accumulated strain than the deformation temperature which is above the recrystallization temperature. The variations of both the grain distribution and the texture intensity caused by MDRX during the interpass stage result in variations of the yield stress(YS) and the work hardening(WH) rate in each stage. Results also show that the MDRX process in the inter-pass stage has a considerable influence on the final microstructure of three-pass compression. The final grain distribution is more uniform,and the compression texture gradually transforms into recrystallization texture with an increasing degree of MDRX. In order to predict the MDRX fraction in the inter-pass cooling stage, a modified kinetic equation is established, which can reasonably predict the MDRX behavior under multi-pass compression with different conditions in the inter-pass stage. Meanwhile, the influence of the interpass cooling stage on the mechanism of dynamic recrystallization(DRX) is studied. It is universally acknowledged that the discontinuous dynamic recrystallization(DDRX) process is the major deformation mechanism for the Ni-based superalloy. | 10 | Plastic wrinkling prediction in thin-walled part forming process: A review显示文摘The precision forming of thin-walled components has been urgently needed in aviation and aerospace field. However, the wrinkling induced by the compressive instability is one of the major defects in thin-walled part forming. The initiation and growth of the wrinkles are interactively affected by many factors such as stress states, mechanical properties of the material, geometry of the workpiece and boundary conditions. Especially when the forming process involves complicated boundary conditions such as multi-dies constrains, the perturbation of clearances between workpiece and dies and the contact conditions changing in time and space, etc., the predication of the wrinkling is further complicated. In this paper, the current prediction methods were summarized including the static equilibrium method, the energy method, the initial imperfection method,the eigenvalue buckling analysis method, the static-implicit finite element method and the dynamicexplicit finite element method. Then, a systematical comparison and summary of these methods in terms of their advantages and limitations are presented. By using a combination of explicit FE method, initial imperfection and energy conservation, a hybrid method is recommended to predict plastic wrinkling in thin-walled part forming. | 18 | Study on friction performance and mechanism of slipper pair under different paired materials in high-pressure axial piston pump显示文摘High-pressure axial piston pumps operate in high-speed and high-pressure environments. The contact state of the slipper against the swashplate can easily change from an oil film lubrication to a mixed oil film/asperity contact, or even dry friction. To improve the dry friction performance of slipper pairs and to avoid their potentially rapid failure, this study examined the effects of material matching on the dry friction performance of the slipper pair for high-pressure axial piston pumps. A FAIAX6 friction and wear tester was developed, and the dry friction coefficients of the slipper pairs matched with different materials were studied using this tester. Based on the thermo-mechanical coupling of the slipper pair with the working process, the contact surface temperatures of the slipper pairs matched with different materials were calculated and analyzed for the same working conditions. Following this, the effects of the material properties on the temperature increase at the slipper sliding contact surfaces were revealed. The reliabilities of the temperature calculations and analysis results were verified through orthogonal tests of slipper pairs matched with different materials. Conventional SEU mitigation techniques like modular redundancy could not exploit the characters of Viterbi decoders,therefore could not provide optimized SEU tolerance when the device resource utilization cost is a constraint. Leveraging the properties of the decoding algorithm, three effective mitigation techniques are adopted, including structure optimization, Error detection and correction(EDAC) for Block RAM(BRAM) protection, and Partial triple-modular redundancy(PTMR), which are applied to the modules of the decoder in accordance with their characteristics.
