| 1 | Profile of hepatocyte apoptosis and bile lakes before and after bile duct decompression in severe obstructive jaundice patients显示文摘BACKGROUND:Excessive hepatocyte apoptosis and bile lakes in severe obstructive jaundice might impair liver functions.Although decompression of the bile duct has been reported to improve liver functions in animal studies,the mechanism of obstruction differs from that in humans.This study aimed to determine the profiles of hepatocyte apoptosis and bile lakes following bile duct decompression in patients with severe obstructive jaundice in the clinical setting.METHODS:We conducted a 'before and after study' on severe obstructive jaundice patients as a model of inhibition of the excessive process by bile duct decompression.Specimens of liver biopsies were taken before and after decompression of the bile duct and then stained by terminal deoxynucleotide transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling(TUNEL) to identify hepatocyte apoptosis and by hematoxilin-eosin(HE) to identify bile lakes.All measurements were independently done by 2 observers.RESULTS:Twenty-one severe obstructive jaundice patients were included.In all patients,excessive hepatocyte apoptosis and bile lakes were apparent.After decompression,the hepatocyte apoptosis index decreased from 53.1(SD 105) to 11.7(SD 13.6)(P<0.05),and the bile lakes from 23.6(SD 14.8) to 10.9(SD 6.9)(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Bile duct decompression improves hepatocyte apoptosis and bile lakes in cases of severe obstructive jaundice,similar to the findings in animal studies. | Toar JM Lalisang Raden Sjamsuhidajat Nurjati C Siregar Akmal Taher | 2010 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2010，9，5： | 9 |
| 2 | Ganglion cells apoptosis in diabetic rats as early prediction of glaucoma:a study of Brn3b gene expression and association with change of quantity of NO, caspase-3, NF-κB, and TNF-α显示文摘AIM:To find a new concept to show whether or not apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)canbe determined in the histology of acute hyperglycemia in the role of expressed Brn3b gene related to nitric oxide(NO),caspase-3,nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)as an early predictor of primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)eyes and their associations.METHODS:Experimental in vivo study was carried out using adult male,white Sprague-Dawley rats aged≥2 mo,weighing 150-200 g.The animals were divided into two groups,one group receiving intraperitoneal injection of streptozotociz 50 mg/kg in 0.01 mol/L citricbuffer and p H 4.5 and a comparison made with the control group.Retinal tissue was divided into two parts(both experimental and control groups respectively):a)right retina for immunohistochemistry(IHC;caspase-3 and TNF-α);b)left retina was divided into two parts for the purpose of real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)test(RNA extraction for Brn3b gene expression analysis)and ELISA test(NO and NF-κB).RESULTS:The experimental group showed a decrease in Brn3b gene expression compared to the control group(1.3-fold lower in 2nd month;1.1-fold lower in 4th month and 2.5-fold lower in 6th month).However,there was a decrease of NO,caspase-3,and an increase of NF-κB and TNF-αquantity.CONCLUSION:The expression of m RNA Brn3b gene is inversely proportional to apoptosis in RGCs.The quantity of NO,caspase-3,NF-κB and TNF-αis influential in expression of Brn3b in RGCs caused by hyperglycemia in diabetic rats. | Irwan Tjandra Purnomo Soeharso Widya Artini Nurjati Chairani Siregar Andi Arus Victor | 2020 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020，13，12： | 2 |

| 20 | A model to standardize safety and quality of care for cupping therapy显示文摘Cupping therapy has historical, traditional and religious value. It is increasingly popular in the field of complementary, alternative and integrative medicine. However, standards for safety and quality of service are absent. Although it is generally considered safe, cupping therapy can cause adverse events.Most of these events are predictable and preventable. A comprehensive approach to patient eligibility and therapist selection, along with compliance with standard operational procedures is essential to regulate the safety of the practice. Here we discuss a model framework for standardizing safety and quality of care.
