3Recent advances in gel polymer electrolyte for high-performance lithium batteries显示文摘Lithium batteries (LBs) have become increasingly important energy storage systems in our daily life. However, their practical applications are still severely plagued by the safety issues from liquid electrolyte, especially when the batteries are exposed to mechanical, thermal, or electrical abuse conditions. Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are being considered as an effective solution to replace currently available organic liquid electrolyte for building safer LBs. This review provides recent advancements in GPEs applied for high-performance LBs. On the one hand, from the environmental and economic point of view, the skeletons of GPEs changed from traditional polymer to renewable and degradable polymer. On the other hand, in addition to being as a component with good electrochemical and physical characterizations, the GPEs also need to provide some functions for addressing the concerns of lithium (Li) dendrites, unstable cathode electrolyte interface, dissolution and migration of transition metal ions,'shuttle effect' of polysulfides, and so on. 5Dynamic expression of nerve growth factor and its receptor Trk A after subarachnoid hemorrhage in rat brain显示文摘Delayed ischemic neurologic deficit after subarachnoid hemorrhage results from loss of neural cells.Nerve growth factor and its receptor Trk A may promote regeneration of neural cells,but their expression after subarachnoid hemorrhage remains unclear.In the present study,a rat model of subarachnoid hemorrhage was established using two injections of autologous blood into the cistern magna.Immunohistochemical staining suggested that the expression of nerve growth factor and Trk A in the cerebral cortex and brainstem increased at 6 hours,peaked at 12 hours and decreased 1 day after induction of subarachnoid hemorrhage,whereas the expression in the hippocampus increased at 6 hours,peaked on day 1,and decreased 3 days later.Compared with those for the rats in the sham and saline groups,neurobehavioral scores decreased significantly 12 hours and 3 days after subarachnoid hemorrhage(P < 0.05).These results suggest that the expression of nerve growth factor and its receptor Trk A is dynamically changed in the rat brain and may thus participate in neuronal survival and nerve regeneration after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Jin-ning Song Zun-wei Liu Long Sui Bin-fei Zhang Yong-lin Zhao Xu-dong Ma Hua Gu 2016Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,8:9
6Mortality outcomes of low-dose computed tomography screening for lung cancer in urban China:a decision analysis and implications for practice显示文摘Background: Mortality outcomes in trials of low-dose computed tomography(CT) screening for lung cancer are inconsistent. This study aimed to evaluate whether CT screening in urban areas of China could reduce lung cancer mortality and to investigate the factors that associate with the screening effect.Methods: A decision tree model with three scenarios(low-dose CT screening, chest X-ray screening, and no screening) was developed to compare screening results in a simulated Chinese urban cohort(100,000 smokers aged45-80 years). Data of participant characteristics were obtained from national registries and epidemiological surveys for estimating lung cancer prevalence. The selection of other tree variables such as sensitivities and specificities of low-dose CT and chest X-ray screening were based on literature research. Differences in lung cancer mortality(primary outcome), false diagnoses, and deaths due to false diagnosis were calculated. Sensitivity analyses were performed to identify the factors that associate with the screening results and to ascertain worst and optimal screening effects considering possible ranges of the variables.Results: Among the 100,000 subjects, there were 448,541, and 591 lung cancer deaths in the low-dose CT, chest X-ray, and no screening scenarios, respectively(17.2% reduction in low-dose CT screening over chest X-ray screening and 24.2% over no screening). The costs of the two screening scenarios were 9387 and 2497 false diagnoses and 7and 2 deaths due to false diagnosis among the 100,000 persons, respectively. The factors that most influenced death reduction with low-dose CT screening over no screening were lung cancer prevalence in the screened cohort, lowdose CT sensitivity, and proportion of early-stage cancers among low-dose CT detected lung cancers. 8Reaction Process of Chromium Slag Reduced by Industrial Waste in Solid Phase显示文摘M, a particular industrial waste, was selected to detoxify chromium slag at a high temperature. The carbon remaining in M reduced Cr (Ⅵ) of Na2CrO4 borne in the chromium slag to Cr (Ⅲ) in the solid phase reaction, and its thermodynamics and kinetics were studied. The reduction process of Na2CrO4 by carbon produced CO, which was endothermic. 9Expression of the Phycoerythrin Gene of Gracilaria lemaneiformis (Rhodophyta) in E. coli and Evaluation of the Bioactivity of Recombinant PE显示文摘Phycoerythrin (PE) is one of the most important proteins involved in light capturing during photosynthesis in red algae. Its potential biological activities had gained wide concerns. In the present study, tumor cytotoxic and hydroxyl radical assay were preformed to detect the bioactivity of recombinant PE. Recombinant plasmids pGEX-PE and pBGL were transformed into E.coli BL21 to make two recombinant strains BEX (pGEX-PE) and BGL (pBGL). PE expressing in BEX (pGEX-PE) was validated by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting analysis. SDS-PAGE analysis indicated that the PE-GST fusion protein was mostly inclusion bod- ies. Specific expression of PE was confirmed by Western blotting analysis. The recombinant E. coli BEX (pGEX-PE) cells were col- lected and sonicated. The supernatants were reserved for the tumor cytotoxic experiments. The result of tumor cytotoxic assay indi- cated that the supernatants containing PE had the activity of inhibiting the growth of Hela cells and with the increase of protein con- centration, the inhibiting rate increased from 37.31% to 63.26%, which showed significant difference from the control. Hydroxyl radical scavenging effect was tested with supernatants of BEX (pGEX-PE) and BGL (pBGL) cell lysates treated with sonication and heating. For the sonication samples, the scavenging rates of the supernatants of BEX (pGEX-PE) and BGL (pBGL) cell lysates were significantly higher than the negative control BL21(pGEX-4T) (P<0.02), and the scavenging rates increased slowly following the increase of the protein content. For the heating samples, except for the 0.2 mg mL-1 BGL (pBGL) products, the scavenging effects of the supernatants of BEX (pGEX-PE) and BGL (pBGL) cell lysates were stronger than that of negative control BL21(pGEX-4T). However, the effect intensity was not positively correlated with the increase of the protein concentration. Though a partially de- creased hydroxyl radical scavenging activity was led by heating, the biological activity was still retained and conspicuous. 10Analysis of expressed sequence tags of a marine red alga,Gracilaria lemaneiformis显示文摘The expressed sequence tags (EST) has been proved to be a useful tool for discovering and identifying functional genes, especially in some species whose genetic information is unavailable. A total of 180 ESTs have been generated from a cDNA library of gametophytic Gracilaria lemaneiformis in this study. These clones are clustered into 151 groups, among which 8 groups are highly homologous to chloroplast genes and are abundant in the library. After searching for matches in the EST database of red alga, 22 groups are found to match with the registered ESTs of Rhodophyta and 6 with Gracilaria. 13Injury potentials associated with severity of acute spinal cord injury in an experimental rat model显示文摘To investigate characteristics of injury potentials after different degrees of spinal cord injury in rats,the present study established models of spinal cord contusion with severe,moderate,and mild degrees of injury.Injury potential was measured in vivo using a direct current voltage amplification system.Results revealed that in the first 4 hours after acute spinal cord injury,initial amplitude of injury potential was greatest after severe injury,followed by moderate and mild injuries.Amplitude of injury potential decreased gradually with injury time,and the recession curve was logarithmic.Under the same degree of injuries,amplitude of rostral injury potential was generally less than caudal injury potential.Results suggested that injury potential reflected injury severity,because large initial amplitude of injury potential during the early injury stage implied severe injury.Suying Pan Guanghao Zhang Xiaolin Huo Jinzhu Bai Tao Song 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,23:3
14Electron-phonon coupling-assisted universal red luminescence of o-phenylenediamine-based carbon dots显示文摘Due to the complex core-shell structure and variety of surface functional groups,the photoluminescence(PL)mechanism of carbon dots(CDs)remain unclear.o-Phenylenediamine(oPD),as one of the most common precursors for preparing red emissive CDs,has been extensively studied.Interestingly,most of the red emission CDs based on oPD have similar PL emission characteristics.Herein,we prepared six different oPD-based CDs and found that they had almost the same PL emission and absorption spectra after purifiication.Structural and spectral characterization indicated that they had similar carbon core structures but diffferent surface polymer shells.Furthermore,single-molecule PL spectroscopy confirmed that the multi-modal emission of those CDs originated from the transitions of different vibrational energy levels of the same PL center in the carbon core.In addition,the phenomenon of'spectral splitting'of single-particle CDs was observed at low temperature,which confirmed these oPD-based CDs were unique materials with properties of both organic molecules and quantum dots.Finally,theoretical calculations revealed their potential polymerization mode and carbon core structure.Moreover,we proposed the PL mechanism of red-emitting CDs based on oPD precursors;that is,the carbon core regulates the PL emission,and the polymer shell regulates the PL intensity.Our work resolves the controversy on the PL mechanism of oPD-based red CDs.These findings provide a general guide for the mechanism exploration and structural analysis of other types of CDs.Boyang Wang Zhihong Wei Laizhi Sui Jingkun Yu Baowei Zhang Xiaoyong Wang Shengnan Feng Haoqiang Song Xue Yong Yuxi Tian Bai Yang Siyu Lu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,7:2

16Impact of COVID-2019 on stroke services in China: survey from the Chinese Stroke Association显示文摘Background The COVID-19 pandemic and physical distancing guidelines have compelled stroke practices worldwide to reshape their delivery of care significantly.We aimed to illustrate how the stroke services were interrupted during the pandemic in China.Methods A 61-item questionnaire designed on Wenjuanxing Form was completed by doctors or nurses who were involved in treating patients with stroke from 1 February to 31 March 2020.Results A total of 415 respondents completed the online survey after informed consent was obtained.Of the respondents,37.8%,35.2%and 27.0%were from mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively.Overall,the proportion of severe impact(reduction>50%)on the admission of transient ischaemic stroke,acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)and intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)was 45.0%,32.0%and 27.5%,respectively.Those numbers were 36.9%,27.9%and 22.3%;36.5%,22.1%and 22.6%;and 66.4%,47.5%and 41.1%in mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively(all p<0.0001).For AIS,thrombolysis was moderate(20%-50%reduction)or severely impacted(>50%),as reported by 54.4%of the respondents,while thrombectomy was 39.3%.These were 44.4%,26.3%;44.2%,39.4%;and 78.2%,56.5%,in mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively(all p<0.0001).For patients with acute ICH,39.8%reported the impact was severe or moderate for those eligible for surgery who had surgery.Those numbers were 27.4%,39.0%and 58.1%in mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively.For staff resources,about 20%(overall)to 55%(severe epidemic)of the respondents reported moderate or severe impact on the on-duty doctors and nurses.Conclusion We found a significant reduction of admission for all types of patients with stroke during the pandemic.Patients were less likely to receive appropriate care,for example,thrombolysis/thrombectomy,after being admitted to the hospital.Stroke service in severe COVID-19 epidemic areas,for example,Wuhan,was much more severely impacted compared with other regions in China.Xia Wang Menglu Ouyang Cheryl Carcel Chen Chen Lingli Sun Jie Yang Yao Zhang Guofang Chen Shoujiang You Yongjun Cao Lu Ma Xin Hu Yi Sui Craig Anderson Lili Song Yongjun Wang David Wang 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,4:2

18Clinical Value of Human Papillomavirus E6/E7 mRNA Testing in Patients with Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance and Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion显示文摘Objective:To explore the clinical significance of the quantitative detection of human papillomavirus(HPV)E6/E7mRNA in triage of patients with atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance(ASC-US)and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(LSIL).Methods:A cross-sectional screening study was conducted among women who underwent outpatient gynecological screening at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University from September 2015 to July 2016.A total of 500 patients from our hospital with ASC-US or LSIL based on cytology testing were subjected to HPV DNA and HPV E6/E7 mRNA quantitative analysis.Results:The specificity of the HPV E6/E7 mRNA test for detecting≥high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(HSIL+)was statistically higher than that of the HPV DNA test(61.3%vs.40.0%,P<0.05),whereas there was no significant difference in the sensitivity of HPV E6/E7 mRNA test and HPV DNA test(90.0%vs.95.0%,P>0.05).The positive rates of HPV in the participants tested by HPV E6/E7 mRNA and HPV DNA were,respectively,42.8%(214/500)and 62.8%(314/500),with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions:The HPV E6/E7 mRNA test was slightly less sensitivity than that of the HPV DNA test for diagnosing HSIL+in patients with ASC-US and LSIL,but the difference was not significant,although the specificity of the former was significantly higher.HPV E6/E7 mRNA detection can effectively reduce overdiagnosis and overtreatment of patients with ASC-US and LSIL and has important clinical value in triage of patients with ASC-US and LSIL.Qing Wang Cai-Ying Zhu Li-Mei Chen Shu-Jun Gao Ming Du Hong-Wei Zhang Hua Feng Yu Song Wen-Jing Diao Yan-Yun Li Long Sui 2018Reproductive and Developmental Medicine2018,2,3:2
19Neurotransmitter regulation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase expression following subarachnoid hemorrhage显示文摘BACKGROUND: Very few studies have addressed neuronal injury in cerebral vasospasm and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and the role of neurotransmitters in the regulation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) expression following SAH. OBJECTIVE: To analyze neurotransmitter regulation of ERK1/2 expression through the use of signal transduction, and to investigate cerebral injury mechanisms following SAH. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A completely randomized grouping and controlled animal experiment was performed at the Experimental Center of Medical College of Xi'an Jiaotong University from March to December 2008. MATERIALS: Extracellular signal-regulated ERK1/2 polyclonal antibody and strepta-vidin-peroxidase method kits were purchased from Beijing Biosynthesis Biotechnology, China; DAB kit was purchased from Zhongshan Golden Bridge Biotechnology, China; TUNEL kit was purchased from Promega, USA. METHODS: A total of 114 male, Sprague Dawley rats, aged 55-63 days old, were randomly assigned to five groups: SAH (n = 30), saline control (n = 30), puncture control (n = 30), normal control (n = 6), and neurotransmitter-treated (n = 18). The SAH model was established by twice injecting blood through the cisterna magna. The neurotransmitters-treated group was subdivided into three groups according to drugs injected into the lateral cerebral ventricle: acetylcholine chloride, norepinephrine, and saline, with six animals in each group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Rats from the SAH, saline control, and puncture control groups were respectively sacrificed at 6, 12, and 24 hours, as well as 3 and 5 days, with six rats at each time point. The normal control group rats were sacrificed at 6 hours, and the neurotransmitter group rats were sacrificed 3 days following neurotransmitter injection. Morphological cellular changes were observed by hematoxylin and eosin staining. Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect expression of ERK1/2 in the cortex, and cortical apoptosis was detected using the TUNEL method. RESULTS: Neural tissue edema, apoptosis, and necrosis occurred in the cortex of the SAH group. ERK1/2-positive cells were first observed at 6 hours, peaked at 12 hours following SAH in the cortex, and gradually decreased thereafter. Cellular apoptosis was observed in the cortex at 6 hours and peaked at 24 hours following SAH. ERK1/2 distribution in the brain overlapped apoptotic cells to a great degree. The number of ERK1/2-positive and apoptotic cells was significantly greater in the SAH group compared with the three control groups (P < 0.05). Compared to the number of ERK1/2-positive cells in the saline-treated group, acetylcholine chloride treatment resulted in decreased ERK1/2 expression and apoptosis (P < 0.05). Norepinephrine resulted in increased ERK1/2 expression, but there was no significance in apoptosis compared to the saline-treated group (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Apoptosis was observed early in the rat cortex following SAH. In addition, ERK1/2 was expressed earlier than apoptosis. 20N,P-codoped porous carbon derived from chitosan with hierarchical N-enriched structure and ultra-high specific surface Area toward high-performance supercapacitors显示文摘In this work,a facile'carbonization-activation'strategy is developed to synthesize N,P-codoped hierarchical porous carbon.Phosphoric acid is innovatively introduced during the hydrothermal process to achieve in-situ P doping as well as create abundant pores,and the employment of sodamide is of vital importance to simultaneously serve as activating agent and N-source to succeed a high-level N doping.Thus,the obtained samples exhibit a unique three-dimensional hierarchical structure with an ultra-high specific surface area(3646 m^(2)g^(-1))and ultra-high N-doping level(9.81 at.%).Computational analyses confirm that N,P co-doping and higher N content can enhance active sites and widen potential differences of carbon materials to improve their capacitance.The as-prepared carbon materials demonstrate superior electrochemical performances,such as an ultra-high capacitance of 586 Fg^(-1)at 1 Ag^(-1),a superior rate capability of 409 Fg^(-1)at 20 Ag^(-1),and excellent long-term stability of 97%capacitance retention after10,000 cycles in 6 M KOH.Moreover,an assembled symmetric supercapacitor delivers a high energy density of 28.1 Wh kg^(-1)at the power density of 450 W kg^(-1)in 1 M Na_(2)SO_(4),demonstrating a great potential for applications in supercapacitors.Xipeng Xin Na Song Ruiming Jia Bingnan Wang Hongzhou Dong Shuai Ma Lina Sui Yingjie Chen Qian Zhang Lifeng Dong Liyan Yu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,29:2
