| 1 | Review on photocatalytic and electrocatalytic artificial nitrogen fixation for ammonia synthesis at mild conditions: Advances,challenges and perspectives显示文摘The ammonia synthesis from nitrogen and water under ambient conditions is one of the most inviting but challenging reaction routes.Although nitrogen is abundant in the atmosphere and the ammonia synthesis reaction is exothermic on the thermodynamics,the conversion of N2 to ammonia is actually hard to proceed owing to the chemical inertness and stability of N2 molecules.In industry,ammonia synthesis is carried out by the Haber-Bosch process under harsh conditions (300-500 ℃,20-30 MPa) associated with the requirement of substantial energy input and the enormous emission of greenhouse gases (e.g.,CO2).Recently,a growing number of studies on photo(electro)catalytic and electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) in aqueous solution have attracted extensive attention,which holds great promise for nitrogen fixation under room temperature and atmospheric pressure.However,the very low efficiency and ambiguous mechanism still remain as the major hurdles for the development of photochemical and electrochemical NRR systems.Here we provide an overview of the latest progresses,remaining challenges and future prospects in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic nitrogen fixation.Moreover,this review offers a helpful guidance for the reasonable design of photocatalysts and electrocatalysts towards NRR by combining theory predictions and experiment results.We hope this review can stimulate more research interests in the relatively understudied but highly promising research field of NRR. | Xiaolan Xue Renpeng Chen Changzeng Yan Peiyang Zhao Yi Hu Wenjun Zhang Songyuan Yang Zhong Jin | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,6: | 20 |

| 6 | Deletion analysis of oligomycin PKS genes (olmA) in Streptomyces avermitilis显示文摘Gene deletion vector pXL05(pKC1139∷△olmA1 +△olmA4) was used to disrupt oligomycin PKS en-coding genes (olmA) in Streptomyces avermitilis CZ8-73, the producer of anthelmintic avermectins B and the cell growth inhibitor oligomycin. olmA gene cluster in the chromosome was displaced by deletion allele on the plasmid via double crossover. Four of disruptants were confirmed by Southern blotting. Shaking flask experiments and HPLC analyses showed that the four mutants no longer produced the toxic oligomycin, but only made four components of avermectins B, which were avermectin B1a, B1b, B2a, B2b. The yields of avermectins B in these mutants were separately equal to those in CZ8-73. This revealed that olmA genes deletion did not affect the biosynthesis of avermectins. | 9 | Ionic liquid crystal-based electrolyte with enhanced charge transport for dye-sensitized solar cells显示文摘A room temperature ionic liquid crystal,1-dodecyl-3-ethylimidazolium iodide(C12EImI),and an ionic liquid,1-decyl-3-ethylimidazolium iodide(C10EImI),have been synthesized,characterized and employed as the electrolyte for dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSC).The physicochemical properties show that a smectic A(SmA)phase with a lamellar structure is formed in C12EImI.Both C12EImI and C10EImI have good electrochemical and thermal stability facilitating their use in DSSC.The steady-state voltammograms reveal that the diffusion coefficient of I3–in C12EImI is larger than that in C10EImI,which is attributed to the existence of the SmA phase in C12EImI.Because the iodide species are located between the layers of imidazolium cations in C12EImI,exchange reaction-based diffusion is increased with a consequent increase in,the overall diffusion.The electrochemical impedance spectrum reveals that charge recombination at the dyed TiO2/electrolyte interface of a C12EImI-based DSSC is reduced due to the increase in I3–diffusion,resulting in higher open-circuit voltage.Moreover,both short-circuit current density and fill factor of the C12EImI based DSSC increase,as a result of the increasing transport of I3–in C12EImI.Consequently,the photoelectric conversion efficiency of C12EImI-based DSSC is higher than that of the C10EImI–based DSSC. | PAN Xu WANG Meng FANG XiaQing ZHANG ChangNeng HUO ZhiPeng DAI SongYuan | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,10: | 4 |

| 16 | Numerical analysis of the three-dimensional aerodynamics of a hovering rufous hummingbird(Selasphorus rufus)显示文摘Hummingbirds have a unique way of hovering. However, only a few published papers have gone into details of the corresponding three-dimensional vortex structures and transient aerodynamic forces. In order to deepen the understanding in these two realms, this article presents an integrated computational fluid dynamics study on the hovering aerodynamics of a rufous hummingbird. The original morphological and kinematic data came from a former researcher's experiments. We found that conical and stable leading-edge vortices(LEVs) with spanwise flow inside their cores existed on the hovering hummingbird's wing surfaces. When the LEVs and other near-field vortices were all shed into the wake after stroke reversals, periodically shed bilateral vortex rings were formed. In addition, a strong downwash was present throughout the flapping cycle. Time histories of lift and drag were also obtained. Combining the three-dimensional flow field and time history of lift, we believe that high lift mechanisms(i.e., rotational circulation and wake capture) which take place at stroke reversals ininsect flight was not evident here. For mean lift throughout a whole cycle, it is calculated to be 3.60 g(104.0 % of the weight support). | 17 | Improving the performance of arylamine-based hole transporting materials in perovskite solar cells: Extending π-conjugation length or increasing the number of side groups?显示文摘In this work, we prepared three simple arylamine-based hole transporting materials from commercially available starting materials. The effect of extending 7 r-conjugation length or increasing the number of side groups compared with reference compound on the photophysical, electrochemical, hole mobility properties and performance in perovskite solar cells were further studied. It is noted that these two kinds of molecular modifications can significantly lower the HOMO level and improve the hole mobility, thus improving the hole injection from valence band of perovskite. On the other hand, the compound with more side groups showed higher hole injection efficiency due to lower HOMO level and higher hole mobility compared with the compound with extending π-conjugation length. The perovskite solar cells with the modified molecules as hole transporting materials showed a higher efficiency of 15.40% and 16.95%,respectively, which is better than that of the reference compound(13.18%). | 20 | In-situ grown CuO_(x)nanowire forest on copper foam:A 3D hierarchical and freestanding electrocatalyst with enhanced carbonaceous product selectivity in CO_(2)reduction显示文摘Electrocatalytic carbon dioxide(CO_(2))reduction is considered as an economical and environmentally friendly approach to neutralizing and recycling greenhouse gas CO_(2).However,the design of preeminent and robust electrocatalysts for CO_(2)electroreduction is still challenging.Herein,we report the in-situ growth of dense CuO_(x)nanowire forest on 3D porous Cu foam(CuO_(x)-NWF@Cu-F),which can be directly applied as a freestanding and binder-free working electrode for highly effective electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction.By adjusting the surface morphology and chemical composition of CuO_(x)nanowires via surface reconstruction,large electrochemically active surface area and abundant Cu(+1)sites were generated,leading to remarkable activity for CO_(2)electroreduction.The as-prepared hierarchical conductive electrode exhibited an enhanced Faradaic efficiency of 15.0%for ethanol formation(FE_(C_(2)H_(5)OH))and a total Faradaic efficiency of 69.4%for all carbonaceous compounds(FE_(C-total))at a mild applied potential of–0.45 V vs.RHE in 0.1 M KHCO_(3)electrolyte.It achieved a 4-fold increase in FE_(C-total)than that of Cu nanowire forest supported on 3D porous Cu foam(Cu-NWF@Cu-F)obtained by in-situ reduction of the CuO_(x)-NWF@Cu-F via annealing at H_(2)atmosphere,and thereby effectively suppressed the hydrogen evolution side-reaction. | Wenjun Zhang Minghang Jiang Songyuan Yang Yi Hu Bin Mu Zuoxiu Tie Zhong Jin | 2022 | Nano Research Energy2022,1,3: | 2 |
